"So are you going to the quidditch match?"
Hermione wrote into her book. She watched the ink disappear, remember that one fateful Quidditch match. The one where Draco was supposed to ask her out.

"Whoo!!! Gryffindor!!!!" Hermione heard the Gryffindors shout as she walked up into the stadium, slightly late. She walked up the steps to the Gryffindor side and scanned the crowd for her friends. She looked down at her outfit. A simple pair of jeans and a black t-shirt. Her hair was straight and hanging loosely down her back. Her eyes were lined with black, and she wore a bit of mascara. Her heart started beating as she found her friends, noticing the bright shock of green, and silver amoungst all the red and gold. She walked down the wooden bleachers, which were packed and made her way towards her friends.

"Where have you been?! He's been here forever," Luna hissed into Hermione's ear.

Hermione's heart started hammering, her teeth were chattering, and her hands became clammy, "Sorry" she mumbled. She glanced over at Draco, who was serenly watching the Hufflepuff-Gryffindor game. His jaw clenched, a habit of his she would come to love.

"I'll be right back," Luna said, grabbing Hermione's wrist. She pulled Hermione up with her, and dragged her to the farthest corner she could find.

"You're supposed to talk to him!" She shrieked.

Hermione was speechless.

"I brought him here for you, and not only are you late, but you're also not talking to him. What's wrong with you?"

"Okay! Look, on our way back, let me sit next to him ok? Just walk behind me." With that, she turned and started back towards their seats. She slid into the seat next to Draco's and felt him tense, ever so slightly. She smiled, and turned her attention back to the match. Hufflepuff scored.

"Yay!" Draco said.

Hermione turned towards, eyes wide, "What?!"

Draco laughed, "Yuh-ay!" He said again.

"You're supposed to be on our side," She punched him.

"Sorry, still a Slytherin," He grinned at her. For the remainder of the match, he cheered everytime Hufflepuff scored, and booed when Gryffindor did. At the end of the match, Gryffindor lost, and Draco was ecstatic.

"You're so mean," Hermione said and bumped into him lightly with her shoulder.

"No I'm not." He replied.

"Hermione!" Hermione turned and greeted Ginny with a hug. "What a crap score huh?"

"Definitely," Hermione agreed.

Ginny looked over at Draco, then gave Hermione a puzzled look.

Hermione proceeded to whisper it all into the red head's ear. How Draco had told Luna he wanted to ask her out, and how Luna had invited him to sit with them at the Quidditch match. And how Draco was actually going  to ask her out. Ginny smiled and nodded, excusing herself. This process repeated itself throughout Hermione and Draco's stay. Either her friends would come up and say hello, or his would. Hermione was growing impatient.

"I don't know yet, I've got some stuff to do."

"Awe, but why? You can do it later."

Hermione was talking to Padma Patil, when Luna walked up to her, a sad look on her face.

"What?" Hermione asked?

"He changed his mind," She said slowly.

Hermione's face fell, "What? Why?"

"I don't know...he just said...he didn't want to anymore. I'm sorry 'Mione." She went in to hug her but Hermione stood back. She slowly walked to the most secluded area she could find. She looked at her feet, tears welling him in her eyes, making them blurry. She had liked Draco for a while now. She was hoping.... Oh well. She had set herself up for it.

"What the hell is your problem?!" Luna asked, punching Draco's arm, hard.

"What?" Draco said, a bewildered look on his face.

"Why did you say you wanted to ask her out, and then change your mind?"

"Change my mind? Luna! I was joking!"

Luna's face softened, "You were?"

"Yeah!"

She punched him again.

"What the hell!? Oh no, you didn't tell her did you?"

"Yeah!"

"I was kidding! Of course I want to date her. I wouldn't be here if I didn't."
* * *

"Hermione!" Hermione turned, and saw Luna's silvery hair bouncing in the moonlight. "Hermione, he was joking."

"Huh?"

"Draco, he was joking, he wants to go out with you. He told me himself just now. He said 'I wouldn't be here if I didn't'. He likes you Hermione."

"I dunno Hermione, I'll try."

"Draco...]="

"No I mean it. I really will try."

Hermione smiled, she knew he would.

Hermione smiled and wiped away the tears on her face. She ran her pointer finger under her eye lide, checking for smeared mascara or eyeliner.

"C'mon!" Luna laughed and pulled Hermione towards Draco.

They all hung around outside for a while longer, socializing with everyone. After several 'hullos' and 'good games', Draco, Hermione and Luna started up to the castle.

"Oy, let's go this way." Luna took a step to the side and began walking in a different direction.

"Nah, it's longer that way," Hermione said.

"Fine I'll go this way," The blond said and continued her own way. Hermione started walking again, her heart stopping when Draco fell into step next to her.

"Sucks that we lost," She mumbled.

"Not really," He grinned at her again. They walked a little further when they heard Luna's familiar giggle behind them.

"Haha I was joking!" She said and jogged lightly towards them.

"Run!" Hermione said and together, she and Draco ran away from Luna.

"Hey!" They heard her shout, but it was mainly drowned out by their laughter.

"All right, I'll see you tomorrow then." Hermione closed the book and set it gently on her bedside table. It glowed pink in the dark dormitory indicating Draco's good night. She smiled to herself, she'd read it later.

* * *
Hermione tightened a yellow pig tail above one ear. She examined herself in the mirror. She sported red and gold war paint on her face. The first half of her head was sprayed painted gold, and the other red. She also wore her favourite Gryffindor sweatshirt and snow cap. If that wasn't team spirit, she didn't know what was [do ya'll do that? You know for like homecoming games? I do! I go all out haha. I remember when my school played ___, our like biggest rival, my hair was blue/white and so was my face. I looked like a smurf. It was great ahaha]. Hermione glanced at herself one last time and headed out into the common room. She walked down the steps and almost walked right through the giant paper banner with the words "Gryffindor Rocks!" poorly painted in gold and red paint. Not to mention the lion. It looked sick.

"Oy! Watch it!" Ron shouted. His pale face, arms, shirt, and pants were splattered with paint, and his hair sparkled with golden glitter.

"Sorry," Hermione giggled.

"D'you have ANY idea how long it took to make this?"

Hermione looked at the banner, "Why didn't you use a stencil?"

"Great question Mione! But here's a better one--why didn't we just use magic like RONALD suggested?" Ron shot Harry a dark look.

"What would have been the fun in that?" Harry laughed. His entire left pant leg was no longer khaki like the other one, but scarlet and shiny with golden sparkles.

Ron said nothing, simply proceeded to stare at Harry.

Hermione shook her head, and with a wave of her wand fixed the crooked lettering and set the lion so that it roared.

Harry grinned, "Ready Mione?"

Hermione nodded.

"Slytherin's done for!" Seamus Finnegan said in his thick Irish accent.

Dean agreed and let out a loud whoop. The room began buzzing with energy. Ron and Harry got to the front and started out the portrait hole. Hermione stood on her tiptoes and looked around for Ginny. She spotted her at the very front, wearing silver lounge pants and a green top.

"Ginny!" Hermione called out to her, her face screwed up in disbelief.

Ginny turned around smiled, a big red "G" painted on her cheek. On her shirt was Slytherin Serpent, but marked over it was "GRIFFYNDOR OWNS" in bold black letters. Hermione had to laugh.

The rowdy army of Gryffindor marched out to the quidditch pitch, staying hidden until it was time to make their entrance.

"Oy! Who's ready for some Quidditch?!" A voice shouted into the mic. The crowd erupted into cheers. Hermione's heart began pounding.

"Put your hands together for," The announcer stopped for dramatic effect. "SLYTHERIN!!!"

The Slytherin side began screaming their support, chanting their team name.

"Here!" Harry and Ron thrusted the banner into Hermione and Ginny's hands. The pulled on their gloves, picked up their brooms which were laying neatly in the grass and sprinted to the Gryffindor side. Ginny turned to face all the Gryffindor's behind her and barked orders at them to get in line, like they had practiced.

"And now, for the bravest of us all, GRYFFINDOR!"

They all took their cue and started marching into the pitch.

Left, Left, Left, Right, Left

Hermione and Ginny led everyone into the middle of the pitch. The looked at, before proudly holding their beautiful banner up for everyone to see. A mix of boos and whoos were emitted from the spectators. Suddenly, there was a gust of wind and Harry ripped through the banner, Ron and the rest of the Quidditch players in suite. This time all the boos were drowned out by the deafening whoos. The Gryffindors ran up into the bleachers and watched the game. Hermione followed Ginny up to their usual spot with Luna. She spotted Draco and smiled. He had come. Cue the butterflies. She walked carefully towards them. Hermione sat down next to Draco and smiled even wider when he turned to look at her. On his cheek was a little lion with Gryffindor written in swirly lettering.

He grinned at her.

Hermione just about fainted.
