“Where are Sirius and Emmeline?” Lily asked sitting down after saying goodbye to Nate.

“Probably shagging in the dorm.” James replied.

Raine smiled, "Yep, they sure are. Emmeline wants to before she gets a visit from her Aunt Flow."

Dorcas stifled her laughter by burying her face in Remus' shoulder. "Raine!" Lily exclaimed.

            "What?" Raine asked innocently.

"Would you like it if Emmeline announced it to everyone your period was going to start soon?" Lily huffed.

"Well, I didn't announce that she was about to start her period. You did." Raine stated while grabbing a biscuit from a basket in front of her.

"I'm guessing they had already figured it out." Lily replied, "Or did you forget third year."

"I pretty much forgot everything that happened that year." Raine said. "Sorry. It was not a very memorable year for me."

            "Oy!" James called out.

"Lily Evans you are forbidden from telling her that story. I'm just starting to forget it." Marlene said.

"What James?" Raine asked. "And why don't you want to tell me about it?"

"We were dating third year." James pouted.

Marlene glared, "If you want to know about. We can remind you about it later."

Raine's eyes went wide. "Oh yeah! Sorry James! I love you!" Raine exclaimed before giving him a kiss on the cheek. "Fine, don't tell me about it." Raine said before taking a bite out of her biscuit.

"Good I won't" Marlene said.

"Hey Marlene." Brendan McKinnon said as he passed their group with his own friends taking a seat just a little bit down the table.

Raine sighed, "I thought reverse psychology was supposed to work James."

            "Oh hey Brendan." Marlene replied.

            "Only on you." James replied.

"Marlene what was that all about?" Lily asked.

Raine rolled her eyes, "Fine, be that way."

"Oh, that? We were just saying hello to each other. Duh." Marlene told Lily.

"Yes but you've never talked to him before."

"So? The day Amos and I broke up, Brendan and I went swimming." Marlene stated bluntly.

            "Oh. He's single." Lily replied.

            "I know." Marlene said.

             "Marlene?" Raine asked.

            “Yes Raine?”

            "Do you like McKinnon?"

Marlene smiled, "He's cute yes, but I just got out of a relationship."

            "Oh." Raine said. "Marlene?"

            “Raine?”

“How much wood could a wood chuck chuck, if a wood chuck could chuck wood?"

"I don't know Raine. How much wood could a wood chuck chuck, if a wood chuck could chuck wood?"

"If a wood chuck could chuck wood, he would chuck... I don't know. Ask James. No, wait. Ask Remus, he knows everything."

"He would chuck as much wood as he possibly could until he most likely died." Remus replied from behind a book.

Raine smiled. "Yay! I have my answer. Now, what happened in third year?"

"What time in third year?" Marlene asked smirking.

Raine glared at her, "You know exactly what I'm talking about Marlene."

"No I don't believe I do. Oh look here comes Emmeline and Sirius. Lunch most just about be over then." Marlene said.

"Marlene!" Raine yelled. "James, make her tell me!"

"No, the rest of us do know what she's talking about. Why don't you?" James asked as Sirius dropped down next to him and Emmeline sat in Sirius’ lap.

"Because I forgot." she stated. "Why don't you tell me then, James?"

"Because actually saying it would probably only embarrass Marlene even more." James replied, "Have fun, Padfoot?"

Raine huffed, "Fine. I think I'm going to leave now. I don't think I'm wanted. To many secrets are being held from me." she finished as she stood up from the table.

"Oh but of course!" Sirius said happily to James.

"Lucky you mate. I've got to go catch you with her." James replied standing up.

Raine was almost of the door when she turned around and yelled, "Secrets don’t keep friends!” afterwards she exited the Great Hall.

            "Have fun." Sirius said.

"Uh huh." James said before running out of the hall after his girlfriend.

Raine kept walking even when she heard James calling after her. "James, what do you want?" she asked as she started to walk faster.

"Come here! If you really want to know I'll tell you." James called out.

"Nope! I don't want to know now." she replied.

"Fine be that way. I'm going to class then." James yelled before turning around and heading back down the flight of stairs towards the Defense room mumbling as he went.

"Having problems with your boyfriend, de Luca?" A female voice spoke the source of the voice hidden from view.

"Nope, not really." Raine replied.

"Sure seemed like it. He did seem to pleased with you."

"I know right?" Raine asked sarcastically.

The girl dropped from the high window ledge she had been sitting on leaving Raine to wonder how she even got up there, "So what's going on with you then?"

"Nothing much. Why? Does there seem to be a problem with me?"

"Back talking isn't the best thing to do to the head girl." The girl replied the head girl badge pinned to her Slytherin robes.

"What? I just asked if there was a problem with me."

"To bad there apparently is. You were being infantile from what I could hear."

Raine shrugged, "He'll get over it. It's not like he's always so proper. He's more immature than me with all those pranks he plays on you Slytherins."

            "Think I haven't noticed."

"Why don't you put him in detention then?" Raine asked.

"The Marauders have been in detention more then anyone else."

"So?" Raine asked. "Kick him off the Quidditch team." Raine replied jokingly.

"I don't have the power but I don't believe it would be too hard to talk McGonagall or Wood into doing just that." the girl stated smirking.

"Wood wouldn't do it. He's too proud of his team. Plus, if he kicks James off, I'll quit."

The girl laughed, "I believe you are now late for your next class."

Raine's eyes got wide. "Orenda, I'll see you later," she said as she turned around to get to her Defense Against the Dark Arts class.

Orenda chuckled, "I could walk you there and you won't get detention."

Raine stopped. "Really? You won't give me detention even if you do walk me?"

"I figured Darktherten would give you detention if I didn't and I'm feeling rather felicitous today."

"Alright. That would be great." Raine said as Orenda caught up with her. "Thanks Orenda." she stated as the two girls started walking towards the classroom.

They reached the closed classroom door and Orenda knocked.

"Yes, come in." Professor Darktherten said.

Orenda smiled brightly at the Professor, "Just bringing in de Luca. Sorry I kept her belated."

"Oh, okay. Is that all?" Darktherten asked as Raine sat down in a seat towards the back of the classroom.

"Yes thank you Professor." Orenda replied before turning on her heel and walking out of the room. The urge to steal Narcissa from her classes again arose.

When Orenda came upon another closed door but on an entirely different floor, she knocked and the Professor said, "Come in. What can I help you with today Orenda?"

Orenda smiled sweetly at Professor McGonagall, "Do you think I can borrow Narcissa Black. It's important. Although I'm not sure if she'll be back before class ends.”

"Oh yes. That's fine. But Narcissa, tonight’s homework is on page four hundred and fifty six. Be sure to read the subject and write a one foot summary." Professor McGonagall said.

"Of course Professor." Narcissa said putting her stuff away.  "Thank you very much Professor." Orenda said before the two girls departed.

"What is going on Orenda?" Narcissa asked after she closed the door to the transfiguration classroom.

"Nothing I just felt like stealing you. It's rather wearisome only having three classes."

“I wish I only had three classes." Narcissa said.

Orenda laughed, "No you don't. You forget that since I only have three class because I've taken my other newts early, dear."

"Oh, right." Narcissa laughed. "So, who have you given detention to today?"

"A handful of Gryffindor first years, three Ravenclaw second years, five Hufflepuff third years the list goes on."

"No Slytherins? Oh Orenda, I'm so proud!" Narcissa said sarcastically.

Orenda smirked; "I never give detentions to our own." she walked into the common room and dropped into a chair.

Narcissa rolled her eyes, "I know. What are we going to do?"

"Well we do need to talk about what were going to do about someone's arranged marriage."

Narcissa sighed, "Why?"

"Because you don't desire to marry him."

"So? Why do we have to talk about it? I don’t want to marry him, but I have to."

"We've got to talk about how you're going to get through it. At least the wedding without making me assassinate him."

Narcissa laughed, "Okay, where do you want to start?"

Orenda leaned forward, "Well I made your mum send me the details of your wedding so we can revamp those if you would like. Making the wedding the way you want it will make you feel better and then we can talk about the look."

"How the bloody hell did you do that?" Narcissa demanded. "She would never give them to me!"

"She loves me dear.... okay I asked your father for it."

"How did you do that? Wait, how did he have them? Mum would never give them to him."

"He's paying for it he demanded to see the plans. I asked him if I could have a copy because you were in tears terrified your mum was going to make everything purple."

Narcissa shivered, "Purple. Ugliest color in the world, thank you."

"No problem dear. Would you like me to get them?"

"Yes, please."

Orenda smiled and ran down the stairs to her own private dorm. She walked over to her desk removed the letter from Cygnus and grabbed the plans. She then turned around and ran back up the stairs to the common room.

"Orenda, sit. This is very important." Narcissa commanded.

"I'm sitting."

"Oh, well, open the letter then!"

Orenda laughed and handed over the folder she had already put the plans in; "I've already fixed some things for you."

Narcissa took the plans out of the folder and read over them. "I like everything. No, wait. I love everything!" Narcissa said as she gave Orenda a hug. "How did you know?" she asked sarcastically.

"I know you my dear. Shall I send them back then?"

"Yes. That would be grand! Wait! Make one more change." Narcissa stated.

“What?”

"The groom." she stated bluntly.

Orenda laughed, "I'd love to change him for you dear, but I can't. Come on my room. I'm going to send this."

"Please? I will give you my entire life savings if you changed the groom." Narcissa said as she stood up from the couch and walked with Orenda to her room.

"I can only try." Orenda replied opening the door to her large room and walking to her owl.

Narcissa sighed as she plopped herself down on Orenda's silk covered bed. "So, have you seen the guest list yet?"

“Yep.”

“Who is on it?”

“Practically every pureblood.”

"That includes the de Luca's doesn't it? And the Potter's?"

"De Lucas, Beauchamps yes. Potters not on yet."

Narcissa sighed, "Whatever."

"What?"

"I don't like the de Lucas. Well, I don't really like Raine. She's constantly hitting on Regulus. It's disgusting."

Orenda started laughing, "Regulus is a big boy now dear, and as your maid-of-honor I can put a say in the guest list."

"So? Just don't let her come in to my wedding. She'll probably be asking every guy under twenty five to sleep with her."

Orenda sat next Narcissa, "You know that's not true, but if you don't want her there I'll take care of it."

"It is bloody true! The other night at dinner she asked Regulus, MacNair, and Rosier to sleep with her."

"Cissa. She didn't even sleep with Prewett. I think she wanted to get some other people into our common room."

"True, but, why does she do it that way? If she just asked someone to let her in, instead of offering to sleep with them, she could probably get in."

"She's not that smart when it comes to Slytherins. She almost let herself get raped by Rosier."

"Who would let themselves get raped by anyone? She didn't allow that to happen, he just got out of control, as usual." Narcissa replied.

"Yes but she didn't realize he's not the best guy to tease. We all know that."

"She's in bloody Gryffindor. How would she know? Shall we put a sign on his forehead that reads; 'Don’t tease me. I might rape you.'?"

Orenda glared at her, "If you don't like her why in Merlin's beard are you defending her. I was trying to prove to you she's not smart when it comes to Slytherins therefore she wouldn't know to just ask someone to let her in."

"I don't know. Just whatever. I guess I don't like her because she offers Regulus sex. I find that repulsive."

"She's not the only girl that has. He is thirteen now." Orenda said standing up.

"I know that. It's just it is de Luca. You know?" Narcissa replied getting up also.

"No dear. I don't know I'm an only child. Please explain."

Narcissa sighed, "I don't know how to explain it. It's just de Luca. I don't think I like the fact that Regulus would ever even touch her."

Orenda laughed. "Regulus would never touch her. She's in Gryffindor and that repulses him."

"He might! If he's desperate enough; I mean, she keeps offering him like she's about to expire or something."

Orenda sighed, "Talk to him. I don't think he will touch her. There are Slytherin girls throwing themselves at him all the time. So far he hasn't done anything yet."

"Fine, I've got to go. It's almost time for next class. I can't miss this class. Stupid History of Magic." Narcissa said as she opened up the door to the common room.

"You sure. I can get you out of it to." Orenda said walking towards her.

"Nope, I can't miss this class. I'm almost about to fail."

"Oh well I'll walk you just incase you're late." Orenda said pushing her out the door, pulling it closed, and walking up the stairs to the common room.

"Alright." The two girls walked to the History of Magic classroom while talking about Narcissa's wedding. When they finally reached the classroom Narcissa turned to Orenda and gave her a hug, "Thanks for everything. I'll see you later."

"You're welcome, dear. Have fun in class." Orenda said before turning around and walking back down the stairs.

"James?" Raine asked while walking in to the Muggle Studies classroom.

"Raine?"

“Never mind.”

“What?”

"I said never mind."

James sighed and walked away from her and sat next to Remus who was talking with Emmeline.

Raine rolled her eyes and walked over to James. "I'm sorry James."

"What's going on?" James asked.

"Nothing. I'm sorry though."

James groaned, "Why are you acting all funny?"

"I'm not acting funny. Am I?"

“Yes you are.”

"Well, I don't know what's going on." Raine stated.

"Alright. I'm sorry to."

"For what?" Raine asked.

"For being a prat."

"When?" Raine asked.

"Earlier when I stormed off."

"Oh, yeah. You know right after you left Orenda came up to me."

"Who?" James asked.

"Are you two done with your conversation or should I put my class on hold?" Professor Raffentery demanded.

"I'm not sure Professor. Ask James. No wait. Ask Remus. He knows everything." Raine stated while sitting down behind James.

"Ms. de Luca, Mr. Lupin isn’t here to answer everything for you. I'll be seeing both of you tonight in detention." the Professor replied.

"But Professor we have Quidditch practice tonight and Wood gets really mean if you miss it." James declared.

"I'll give you two detentions tomorrow and Wednesday if you let me skip it today. I can't miss practice. I'll be killed." Raine stated.

"Alright de Luca. Potter you'll just serve detention with me tomorrow night." Professor Raffentery said.

"Why doesn't he have to serve it Wednesday?" Raine asked while getting out all of her supplies and laying them on her desk.

"He didn't volunteer to."

"Well, can I take Wednesday back then?" Raine asked hopefully.

"No, because you're still disrupting my class."

Raine put her head down. "Fine."

"Good." but before the Professor could get much further there was a knock on the door. "Alright come in then come in."

"Professor would mind terribly if I stole Ms. de Luca from class for a moment or two?" Orenda asked from the doorway.

Raine immediately looked at the door, "Why do you want me?" she asked.

"That's business between you and me. Professor if now isn't a good time I can borrow her from her next class." Orenda replied.

"I'll go now!" Raine said as she stood up from her chair and headed to the door.

"Professor you haven't given your say." Orenda said.

Professor Raffentery sighed, "Fine, take her. I'm timing you though. You have five minutes."

 "Thanks Professor!" Raine said.

Orenda smiled sweetly and held the door for Raine. Once she was clear she shut the door and then forcefully shoved Raine into the wall. "Leave Regulus alone or next time it won't be a warning."

"What the bloody hell are you talking about?" Raine asked.

"Stop offering to sleep with him." Orenda demanded eyes dark.

"That's gross!" Raine exclaimed.

"Well that's what you're doing."

"No, I'm not."

"Is there anything else I'll do anything. I could do anything. Sound familiar?"

"Um, nope. Can't say that it does."

"Hmm I'm pretty damn sure I was sitting there and I heard you say that to him."

"Oh! Then? Yeah, I remember now! I was offering to color him a pretty picture!" Raine said.

"No you weren't. I'm not vacuous de Luca. Leave him alone."

"I wouldn't do anything with him!" Raine stated.

"Doesn't matter stop even offering."

"I haven't offered in like three weeks! It's not like I actually meant what I was saying either."

"It was a few days ago. Doesn't matter stop."

"Fine." Raine stated.

"Good, I'm only doing this for your own good. Don't tell anyone we had this conversation either. Go back to class our five minutes are almost up."

“Why are you doing this for my own good?" Raine asked not moving from her spot.

"I'd rather one of my best friends isn't sent to Azkaban for your murder."

Raine rolled her eyes, "Whatever. Bye Orenda." she said as she opened up the door to go back into the classroom.

"Nice of you to join us again." Professor Raffentery said as she walked back in.

Raine smiled, "I am so over joyed to be here Professor!"

"I'm sure. Hold the cheek or you'll be here Thursday as well."

"Yes Professor!" Raine smiled as she sat back down in her seat. "So, what did I miss?" she asked out loud.

“You're doing an essay on the muggle toaster."

"The what?" Raine asked.

"Ask your partner."

"Who is my partner? It looks like everyone has moved since I've been here."

"I believe Mr. Petigrew is still partner less."

Raine's nose flared. "Peter? I thought Remus was his partner."

"Not today. You're essay is also tonight’s homework."

"Can't I do it tomorrow in detention? Again, I have practice tonight."

"No Ms. de Luca and I'll be seeing you Thursday evening as well."

Raine took in a deep breath, "I can't wait," she said as she stood up and sat down next to Peter.

"Raine why aren't you excited it's time for care of magical creatures." Sirius replied after class.

"Well, let's see... I have three detentions this week, Quidditch practice tonight, I had Peter as a partner, and I got threatened today!"

What?" Sirius demanded, "You got threatened?"

“Yep.”

“By whom?”

“Orenda.”

“Fier?”

“I guess.” Raine said.

"She can't do that."

"Well, she did." Raine replied.

"Hmm."

"Everyone gather around!" The professor called out.

Raine rolled her eyes and stood in the back of the crowd.

Sirius grinned and pushed his way to the front this was one of his favorite classes.

Raine once again rolled her eyes and then smiled, "Oi! Sirius Black!" she yelled.

Sirius turned around, "Oy Raine de Luca!"

"Your fly is undone,” she stated loudly.

"I like it that way!"

Raine smiled, "That's why your hand is slowly zipping up your zipper."

"Well I figured since you mentioned it, that it was bothering you so I figured I'd better."

"Whatever. Go be the geek of the class and learn about some creature we're learning about today."

"Thanks for your permission." Sirius replied.

Raine smiled and sat down on the ground in the back of the class. "What am I going to do with him?" she asked herself quietly

Sirius grinned and listened to every word until the end of class. "Come on Raine, class is over."

"Nope. I've got to stay out here." She said as she stood up and brushed off her pants.

"For?"

"Quidditch Practice. Wood said immediately after lessons or there will be serious consequences." Raine replied.

Sirius rolled his eyes, "That's where I was going."

"Oh! Okay then." she said as she skipped over to the broom cupboard. "Come on Black! You're getting slower these days!" she yelled.

Sirius chuckled, "Did you remember to put your Quidditch robes in your bag?"

Nope! I'll be good though." Raine said.

"And you're going to practice in your school clothes. I'm not complaining I wouldn't mind you playing in a skirt."

Raine rolled her eyes. "Yep, pretty much. I forgot to go get my robes at lunch. So, I'll just play in this." she said as she motioned to her school shirt and skirt. "Did you pack your robes?" she asked.

Sirius chuckled, "Emmeline did as well as yours." He dropped his bag on the ground.

"Nope, I'm playing in this." Raine stated as she grabbed her broom and took off towards the stands.

"de Luca get your arse down here!" Caine yelled at her from his spot next to Sirius; he was already in his robes.

Raine dropped her school bag and school robe in one of the stands and then flew down to where Caine and Sirius were standing, "Yes?"

"Off your broom. Robes now."

"I didn't bring my robes,” she stated.

"Sirius says he has yours."

"Those aren't mine," she said as she hopped off her broom.

Sirius sighed pulled out his own robes and then handed Raine hers. Raine glared at Sirius and then put her broom on the ground.

"Not my fault Caine heard me. You could be mad at one of your best friends who knows you so well she put your Quidditch robes in my bag." Sirius said.

Raine stood there and glared at Sirius for a couple of seconds. Then she grabbed her broom and hopped on it again.

"de Luca!" Caine shouted.

"Wood?" Raine said as she went to her school bag in the stands.

"What the bloody hell are you doing?" Caine yelled.

Raine glared at him, "Why do you want to know?" she asked as she dug through her bag.

"I'm your captain and so far it looks like you're screwing around."

Raine nodded her head. "If that's what it looks like, that's what I'm doing. Even though, there is no one on this broom with me and I'm not a whore," she said as she grabbed two things out of her bag and flew back down to the ground and headed toward the locker rooms.

Caine groaned, "What the hell was so important in your bag?"

Raine huffed, "Is it okay for me to get a bloody tampon?" she yelled in frustration.

Caine groaned, "I suppose."

"Oh, well thank you Mister Capitan Wood. All I've ever wanted was your permission for me to use a tampon!" she yelled sarcastically.

"Go!" Caine yelled as he pointed to the locker rooms.

Raine rolled her eyes and walked into the locker room and got changed, and then she headed back out side.

"Hey." James said as soon she came out.

"Hey." Raine grumbled.

"What's the matter?"

“Caine.”

"What he do already?"

"Everything." she replied.

"What's everything?" James asked wrapping an arm her waist.

"He gave me permission to use a tampon! I was so happy!" she said sarcastically. "That bloody prat. I'm going to hit a bloody bludger at him today," she mumbled under her breath.

James rubbed her shoulder, "You have every right to."

"So, Wood. What shall we be doing today?" Raine asked in a voice that was so happy it was scary.

"Normal stuff." Caine replied watching her.

"Isn't that just grand!" she said while clapping her hands together.

"Okay, umm everyone get to it." Caine said.

James grabbed Raine's hand "You're doing that to scare him right?"

"Oh no darling! I am so happy to be a practice today!" she replied happily.

"Raine you're scaring me and you do know I meant you had every right to hit a bludger at him. I heard you and I think he really deserves it."

"Isn't that sweet?" she asked. "I don't think I'd ever hit a bludger at our dear old captain! He's just the sweetest thing there ever was!" she replied.

"Sirius! What do you do when they get like this?" James shouted still holding on to Raine's hand, looking scared.

"Like what darling? What's wrong?" Raine asked while rubbing James' arm softly.

"Nothing sweetheart I wasn't talking about you." James replied wrapping his arms around her.

"Check her bag she should have a bottle of some form of pills. I know Em does." Sirius said flying down.

"Isn't it beautiful out today?" she asked happily.

"Yes sweetheart let's go to your bag." James said. Caine just sat watching them from the air.

"No James! I want to fly!" she said.

"We will sweetheart I just wanted to get something from your bag to make you fly better first."

"Not uh! I think you're lying!" Raine said as she released herself from James' grasp and ran over to her broom and bludgers bat.

"Raine he's not lying come here. I have it." Sirius replied a pill in his hand and a bottle of water. "They say it'll make you fly better then the entire Puddlemere United team put together."

"Nope! I'm fantastic the way I am!" she yelled before she kicked off from the ground. "Release the bludgers Wood!” she shouted.

"Well Raine we've all taken them. Don't you want to?" Nieva called out, "I'm not going to be like that am I?" the second year quietly asked Caine.

"No Nieva! I'm not a druggy like you guys! Now, Release the bludgers Wood!" She replied merrily.

"God I hope not for your sake." Caine replied before he flew down to the ground and going against he's better judgment released the bludgers.

Sirius groaned, "Well if she's not going to take the damn thing. I've got a headache and these things are great for pain."

"Yay! Go Caine! You better fly as fast as you can!" Raine yelled as she hit a bludger towards Caine.

"Oh look! The Prewetts have decided to join us Raine said excitedly.

The two Prewett boys both did one of the fast dives either of them had ever done towards the ground pulling up at the last possible second.

"Oh Gideon! How have you been? I’ve had the best day of my life today!” yelled to him as she hit another bludger at Caine.

"Alright got detention for the next month with Flitch. What about you?" Gideon yelled up to her watching their captain fly out of the way of the second bludger.

"Well, first I've got three straight detentions with Raffentery, I had to be partnered with Peter Petigrew in Raffentery's class, I was threatened today, And! I got permission from Caine to use a tampon! Oh yes! I also took some pills in the bathroom a couple minutes ago! Today's been the best day of my life!" Raine replied.

"Oh well glad to hear it!" Gideon said.

"Enough of this Raine! If you don't stop this right now I'm resigning from the team!" Nieva yelled as she flew to the ground.

"Sorry mate! That's your choice though!" Raine yelled back down to her.

"Fine have fun with your guys games. I'll see you around." Nieva yelled, "I'll leave my robes in the locker room." She then proceeded to storm of the pitch.

Raine laughed. "Those things are the best!" Raine yelled.

James quickly hurried after the chaser but not before glaring up at Raine.

Raine smiled and flew to the locker room. When she got there she got off her broom and stumbled into the locker room. "Nieva? I'm sorry. I was just playing around!" Raine stated.

Nieva was sitting on the floor knees to her chest. Her head in her hands tears streaming down her face.

Raine stopped, "What's wrong Nieva?"

“Go away!”

"What the bloody hell is your problem?" Raine asked.

"Just go away!" The girl yelled again crying harder.

"Raine why don't I handle this." James said he was now standing next to her.

Raine looked over at James and then back to Nieva. "Alright." she stated before leaving the locker room and sitting on the side of the building.

"You want to talk about it?" James asked sitting down next to the girl rubbing her back.

"Not really." she replied.

"Come on. What's wrong? If it's Raine, she's always like this during her time of the month. It's never been this bad but, she's had a bad day."

"No it's not."

"Well, what is it then?"

She lifted her head, "My mum..."

"What happened?" James asked concerned.

"She was... she was murdered. I found out this morning."

"Oh Merlin." James said as he wrapped his arms tightly around her back. "I am so sorry."

She started to cry harder, "You didn't do it."

"I know, but I'm still really sorry."

She nodded her head.

"Just- have- Voldemort did it didn't he?" James questioned.

"Yes." she replied voice quivering, "She was all I had left."

"I am so sorry Nieva." James replied holding her closer to him.

"Thanks."

"Why did you quit the team? Raine thinks its all her fault."

"Because she was acting that way because she thought her day was bad."

James nodded his head, "She's selfish, but that's the way she was raised. She is the youngest and she's used to getting everything she wants. She doesn't realize that other people have it bad."

Nieva nodded, "I didn't mean to quit."

"You can go back out there and practice. Caine probably doesn't even realize what just happened." James replied.

"I don't think I want to today." Nieva said.

"Well, you can practice another day. I'll tell Caine what happened and he'll understand. You can just go back up to the common room and do what ever. Okay?"

"I... I don't want to be alone."

James sighed, "I know. I'll get Sirius to walk you back to the castle. I have to talk to Caine about everything, okay?"

Nieva nodded. "Alright, come on." James said as he held out his hand for Nieva to hold on to. Nieva stood up slowly and grabbed his hand hiding her face behind her hair.

James brushed her hair out of her eyes and walked over to the door. "Padfoot! Get your arse over here!" James demanded.

Sirius jumped up and walked over. "Yep?"

"Please escort Nieva to the Gryffindor Common Room and make sure one of her friends is looking after her." James said as he handed Nieva's hand to Sirius.

"Alright. Come on kiddo." Sirius replied holding her hand and slowly walking the girl back to the castle.

James walked over to Caine and told him what was going on with Nieva and how she needed to skip this practice. Caine understood and told James where Raine was.

"We’re just going to cancel practice today." Caine said to the Prewetts as James walked off in search of Raine. The twins nodded their heads and walked into the locker rooms. Caine sighed and sat down on the ground. James found Raine, "Hey."

Raine looked up at James and then looked back down at the ground. "Come here." James said.

Raine looked up at him and shook her head no. "I've ruined everything; our Quidditch team, my reputation with the Slytherins, everything. I ran one our chasers off the team."

"Raine." James said sitting down in front of her.

"What?" Raine asked while looking down at the little hole she had begun to dig.

"You've not ruined the Quidditch team."

"I have too. Nieva quit the team because of me." Raine stated.

"She hasn't quit. She didn't mean to and she's back on."

Raine shook her head. "Whatever." she stated as she stood up from the ground and walked over to the middle of the Quidditch Pitch.

Caine looked up from his spot on the ground. "Raine!" James yelled walking forward.

"You're not quitting sit down." Caine said waving James off since he wasn't helping.

"Nope, I'm not quitting. You're right." Raine said.

"Nieva wasn't your fault. I didn't mean say what I said earlier. Didn't know how to say it and I'm sorry."

"I don't care Wood. I'm not playing on this team anymore. I'm placing myself on the reserve team." Raine stated.

"No you're not I can't let you do that. Why would you in the first place?"

"I've ruined a perfectly good team. If I join the reserve team, they're already terrible, so I won't feel as bad when I just happen to ruin it." Raine said.

"I don't like my reserve beaters and when you’re in a good mood your amazing."

"Well, tell me Wood. When was the last time I was actually in a good mood?" Raine asked.

"Not very often but you've been through stuff that's shaken you this year. You're perfect in games though. Gideon and Fabian are both fine around you during practice and Nieva is going to be okay she's just not in a good place right now."

Raine slowly nodded her head, "That's it right? Yeah, I don't see a reason for me to stay on this team."

Caine looked at her, "No. You'll really mess up the team if you make me put one of the reserve beaters in."

Raine shrugged, "I don't know what to do Wood."

"You're staying on the team. I think if you went reserve Nieva really would quit." Caine said moving the hair from her face.

Raine lay down on her back and looked up at the sky, "Well, whatever. When's practice supposed to start?"

"Oy, sorry I had to cancel." Caine replied.

Raine rolled her eyes, "I knew it,” she said as she rubbed her flat stomach, which began to growl. "When's the next practice?" Raine asked.

"Not sure yet. I'm going to let Nieva tell me when she's ready to play again. Want to know what's going on with her then?"

"Not really, I have to much on my plate right now. Walter has joined some secret society, Donnalyn getting married to a death eater, and Aiden and Ella being death eaters. It's just all to much." Raine said.

"Hey just remember there are people around for you but also there people with worse things going on."

Raine rolled her eyes, "Don't you think I know that? I'm selfish Caine Wood. I know this. It's not like I can bloody help it. I try to look out for other people; it doesn't seem to work though. Damn, everyone's been saying that to me. 'Raine, there are people that have it worse than you.' it gets old." she said while getting up from where she was and grabbing her bag.

"Oy, I didn't mean it that way. I was just saying it could be worse for you. I'm not good with words. I didn't mean to make you feel bad."

"I already felt bad Wood. You just added some wood to the already kindling fire." Raine said. "See you later, I suppose." she said before walking off towards the castle.

Caine sighed put everything back away with magic and hurried after her. "Raine."

"What Caine?" Raine asked sourly.

"I'm sorry, but are you going to be okay?”

"You know, everyone's been saying that to me an awful lot too!" Raine said. "And to tell you the truth, I don't know if I will be or not."

Caine sighed, "I'd hug you but I think you might curse me. Well I hope you do feel better, and everyone's asking because whether we want to our not we care about you."

Raine nodded her head, "Yes, yes, yes. I know. But, I'm a big girl. I think I can handle things on my own. You guys don't care about James if he's in a sour mood. But, hey, Nate probably demanded that you look after me because I'm just a five year old in his bloody eyes."

"Oy, we care it'd just be a little strange talking to James like this, and no I don't listen to the opponent."

Raine snorted, "Why would it be strange to talk to James like you do to me? Oh! I know! Because he has testosterone and not estrogen! Okay, gotcha!"

Caine chuckled, "Well you can't tell me you would find it weird walking into a room with two guys sharing their feelings."

"Nope, I wouldn't find it weird at all." Raine smiled.

"Alright then I'll see you later Raine." Caine said walking over to the Prewetts were he sat down. Raine walked over to her friends and sat down. James and Sirius were deep in conversation over their food.

Raine just started grabbing some food and started piling it on her plate with out saying a word.

"Prongs she doesn't have any where to go during summers." Sirius said.

"I know that."  James replied.

"Well, you don't want to see her go to an orphanage do you?"

"Whom are you guys talking about?" Raine finally asked.

Both boys looked down before James looked back up and at her, "Nieva."

"What? What happened?" Raine asked quietly.

"Her mum was murdered she just found out this morning. She was all she had left." Sirius said, "James your parents have practically adopted me do you think they would take her in as well?"

Raine was speechless. So she just looked down at her plate of food and after a little while she pushed it away from her.

James sighed wrapped an arm around her, "I can ask them."

"James, I'm going to go back to the common room." Raine stated.

"Alright, do you know where my owl is?" James said kissing her forehead.

"No idea." Raine said as she got up from the table. "See you gents later," she replied before walking out of the Great Hall.

"Hmm, well I'm going to go find my owl and write my parents a letter." James said standing up.

"All right." Sirius said. "I'll talk to you back in the common room, alright mate?"

"Yeah." James said walking out of the great hall his bag over his shoulder he was off towards the owlery.

When James made it to the owlery he pulled out some parchment and a quill sat down on a clean spot on the steps and began to write.

Dear Mum and Dad,

I was wondering if well. There is this girl on my Quidditch Team Nieva Vanburen and Voldemort murdered her mum. I expect that you’ve heard of the murder. Her mum was all she had left and she doesn’t have anywhere else to go. I haven’t asked her yet but I was wondering if you would adopt her. I haven’t talked to Dumbledore yet either. She a second year, I’m guessing she’s still twelve and she’s also a chaser. I don’t really know too much else about her but she was great during tryouts. Wood was being Wood and called her the girl with Blonde hair and she snapped at him saying she had a name. Well write to me as soon as you can with an answer I’m going to go talk to Dumbledore about her now. I don’t want to ask Nieva until I know it’s going to go through. I don’t want to get her hopes up.

                                                Your loving son,

                                                                         James.

James folded up the letter and gave it to his owl. Once his owl flew off he started walking to Dumbledore's office. When he reached the statue of the golden eagle he said the password and the stairs started revolving. He climbed the stairs and knocked on Dumbledore's office door.

"Come in." Dumbledore called out. He was sitting at his desk working through some papers.

James sat down and then leaned forward, "Professor, I was wondering. Where is Nieva going to stay since her mother has died?"

"I'm not sure yet, James. I've been looking through some of her mother's friends, but so far it appears that most of them have died as well. Sad for one so young to have to deal with pain of losing those you love."

"Professor, I was wondering if she could stay with my family. I've asked my mum and father to adopt her. But, I haven't told Nieva yet. I'm not going to tell her until the plans are final."

"The does sound like a very nice offer. What do you think your parents will say with not only having you but it's only a matter of time before Mr. Black becomes a long time occupant of your house."

"He already is Professor. My mother and father love him dearly. They've always wanted more children, they just weren't able to once they had me." James stated.

"Hmm, well I don't see why it won't work. Do tell me when you get the answer from your parents. I think you should have Nieva go home with you over Easter break to see if it will go smoothly but ultimately the choice is up to her."

"Yes Professor. Thank you very much." James said happily as he stood up from his seat and walking towards the door.

“You are very welcome, Mr. Potter. Now I believe it is getting late. You should hurry back to your common room to avoid another detention this week.” Professor Dumbledore stated looking back down at the papers before him.

James smiled and exited the head master's office. He started walking to his Common Room and he knew that this decision was one of the best ones he has ever made.
