**sorry I've not added for so long, but here's the next chapter, and I hope it's longer than the last 3. They were pretty short**
"I don't know about that, Hermione." Said Ron, watching as her expression brightened considerably. "There are a few boys." He winked, smirking.
"Really? You know of somebody?" She asked, grinning.
Does that mean she doesn't want it to be me? Ron asked himself, preparing to answer her question. He feigned that he was thinking very hard, and when she hit him he laughed.
"Ronald, answer me!" Hermione whined. Her brown eyes were shining with excitement, and she looked more grown up than he had seen her in a while, what with all her constant hunching over a book and such.
"Well, you never know. A lot of guys talk about how pretty you are." Ron replied, not completely lying. Boys did talk about her, but he was the only one who went on about how pretty she was. The other guys knew she was his, and nobody elses, so they didn't try. Everybody knew she liked him, so they decided to just lay off.
"Really?" She blushed, sounding a bit shy now.
Merlin, she looks gorgeous when she blushes like that! Ron thought, sighing happily. Was now the time to tell her? To ask her to the dance? He decided it was now or never, because if he had the slightest impulse to do it now, he would never get his courage back.
"Hermione, I have a question for you." Ron started, taking her hand, and turning to look straight at her.
"Guys, something happened outside!" Seamus and Dean had just run through the portrait hole, and were now pulling people towards the door.
"Ron!" Seamus cried, seeing him. "Come help us!" He ran over, and grabbed Ron's bicep, pulling him off the couch.
Ron shot a pleading look back at Hermione, and followed reluctantly. Taking it the wrong way, Hermione jumped up to follow them.
"Hermione, no." Ron cried quickly. "If it's bad, you're not coming."
"Oh-ho!" Hermione blanched, hands on her hips. "So now I can't fight for myself, hmm? We'll see about that! Dean, where was it?" She asked, hurrying over to him and batting her eyelashes so he would talk to her immediately.
It worked very well, because he turned to her, and pointed out the door, watching her closely.
“Thanks!” She smiled brightly, and hurried out of the room, towards the door, past Ron and Seamus who were watching her, and bounced her way out of view.
“Seamus, just let go! I have to stop her!” Ron said loudly, and pulled his arm away from Seamus’ grip.
“Ron, wait, I have to warn you! It’s Ginny, mate!” Dean said, standing between Ron and the door.
“What happened to Ginny??” Ron’s eyes grew wide, and what happened next not even Dean or Seamus could’ve predicted or explained.
“RON!” It was a voice Ron knew only too well.
“Hermione! I’m coming!” Ron cried, and ran out of the room.
"Hermoine, get out of the way!!" Harry was yelling as Ron ran into the hallway.
Hermoine shrieked again, and the next thing Ron knew, she was unconcious on the floor.
"Is she breathing??" Ron asked frantically, rushing over.
"I'm not sure." Ginny whispered.
Not knowing what else to do, Ron bent down and picked her up as gently as he could, then started running towards the hospital wing with all he had in him. Ginny, Harry, and the rest of the people who were in the hallway remained, fighting off whoever was there. Ron knew he was going to hurt whoever had tried to kill his Hermione.
A/N: I'm not sure if that's any longer, but I had to create some suspense. q:
