"Hey guys, what did you do while I was gone?" Raine asked as she took a seat next to James.
"Not to much, what was that all about?" James asked.
"What was what all about?"
"That was Narcissa Black wasn't it?"
"You don't talk to her so what was that all about?"
"I can start talking to her. She's actually a really nice person!"
"Alright but what's going on you don't look so good."
"I just had a little trouble when I went to the head of the train." Raine said.
"That's where the... what happened Raine?"
"I just- I was-" Raine sighed. "Nothing, just a little run in with some Slytherins. That's all." Raine said as she diverted her eyes away from James.
James sighed grabbed her arm and pulled her out of the compartment and into an empty one, "What happened?"
"I already told you just a little run in with a Slytherin."
"What happened with this Slytherin?"
"He just, wouldn't leave me alone. Narcissa and Severus took care of it though."
"He. What's going on Raine?"
"James," Raine sighed. "He tried to…" Raine stopped and looked up at James.
"Raine, come on it's okay you can tell me."
"James, he tried to rape me." Raine said as she sat down on one of the benches. "Evan Rosier tried to rape me."
"God, Raine are you okay?" James asked sitting down next to her.
"I'm fine. The worst he did was gave me a couple hickies. Narcissa came in as he was pulling down my pants. But, I'm fine."
"Are you sure? Do you want me to go get Nate or Lily or anyone?"
"James, I'm fine." Raine gave him a small, reassuring smile.
"Are you sure? I know you like to keep your emotions to yourself until someone breaks you down."
"James, I'm more then positive. Just stop worrying about me all the time. I'm a big girl I can handle things myself. But, there is one thing..." Raine said.
"I want you, and your fellow marauders to..." Raine stopped again and looked at James.
“You want us to do what?”
"Be nice to Severus Snape." Raine said really fast.
"But James!" Raine said.
"Why not?" Raine asked.
"He's into the dark arts. He calls Lily a mudblood..."
"But, he took care of Evan Rosier after Narcissa took me out of the compartment!"
"He did it because Narcissa told him to."
"So? He still did it!"
"If Narcissa told him to jump of a cliff he would probably do it."
"James, fine." Raine said defeated. "But, will you do one thing for me?"
"Come with me to the front of the train, so I can thank him."
"N... Fine." James said.
"Thank you." Raine said as she stood up and walked out of the compartment. "Come on James."
James groaned and followed after Raine.
The two walked to the front of the train in silence until MacNair and Rosier called out Raine's name.
"What do you want?" Raine sneered.
James wrapped an arm around Raine protectively.
"What are you doing back down here?" MacNair asked.
"I came to thank Snape for what he did to your friend here." Raine smirked as she pointed to a bruised and swollen Evan Rosier. "Why is it any of your business?" she asked.
"I believe..."MacNair started.
"Oy!" Narcissa yelled walking out of her compartment Severus behind her.
"Hey Narcissa. Hello Severus." Raine said.
Narcissa smiled at Raine before turning to Rosier and MacNair again, "I'd go MacNair before you look like Rosier. Rosier if you so much as look at Raine again I can promise it'll be your last." Narcissa said her wand in her hand.
Raine smiled as the two boys ran off. "Thanks Narcissa." Raine said. "But, I have James with me, you didn't have to come out here."
"I did too. They're not afraid of James the way they are me." Narcissa replied placing her wand back in her pocket.
"Well," Raine said as she looked up at James. "You might be right. But, I just came up here to thank you Severus." Raine said as she let herself out of James' grasp and gave Severus a hug. "Thank you for beating Rosier to a pulp."
Severus cringed slightly, "No problem de Luca."
"What? Do you not like hugs?" Raine laughed as she pulled away from Severus.
Severus was silent.
"He doesn't like to be touched." Narcissa replied.
"Ohhhhh!" Raine said. "Well, thanks again Severus. I owe you one."
"Don't worry about it." Severus replied watching James' every move.
Raine rolled her eyes. "Don't worry, James won't bite. Will you James?"
"Not at the moment." James replied watching Snape just as much he was watching him.
Raine rolled her eyes again. "Narcissa, why must they act like this?" Raine asked sarcastically.
"House rivalry dear. Come on Sev." Narcissa said slowly walking back towards her compartment.
"Bye Narcissa!" Raine yelled before grabbing James' hand and walking back to their compartment.
“Happy now?” James asked.
"Yes, thank you very much for going with me." Raine replied. "But, can I ask one more itsy bitsy favor?"
"What now?" James groaned.
"Please don't tell Nate." Raine stated.
"What... but... I. Fine."
"James, I mean it. Do not say a word to him about this situation." Raine demanded.
"I said fine didn't I?"
"But I know you James. As soon as I look away you'll tell him. Or, you'll tell Remus or Sirius to tell him. Either way, he better not find out or you're in deep trouble."
"But Raine. How can I not tell him?"
"It's easy, you can keep your mouth shut when the subject of me comes about."
"But Raine if he ever does find out and then learns that I knew and didn't tell him he'll murder me."
“No he won’t”
“Yes he will.”
“How do you know?”
“I know Nate.”
"I know him too. He won't kill you. I promise. How is he going to find out in the first place? You aren't going to tell him and neither will Remus, Sirius, or myself."
"You don't know him when it comes to you and how do you know if Narcissa told anyone else or not?"
"Narcissa wouldn't tell anyone. Who would she tell?"
"I don't know. I don't know Narcissa."
"Oh Crap." Raine said and she froze.
"I know who Narcissa would tell. Come on we have to go back and find Narcissa." Raine said as she turned around.
"Who?" James asked following Raine.
“Who will tell Ella. Who will tell Nate and then I'm screwed."
"Exactly, now come on!" Raine said as she passed the place where she saw Narcissa and Snape last. A couple compartments later she knocked on Narcissa's compartment. "Narcissa. It's me Raine."
Narcissa sighed, "You may come in."
Raine walked in. "Look, you can't tell anyone about what happened."
"Because I don't want Nate or anyone else to find out." Raine stated.
"Why not? He's your family it's important."
"Yes, but, Nate would take it too far and then after he killed Evan he'd treat me like a baby and constantly keep an eye on me. Just, please. Don't tell anyone."
"I can't promise that."
"Why not?" Raine asked.
"I've already told someone."
Raine's face dropped. "Who did you tell, Narcissa?"
Narcissa sighed, "I don't think you really want to know."
"Narcissa. Who did you tell?"
Narcissa took a deep breath, "Gideon."
Raine's face turned pale. "Wh- Why did you tell him?"
"Because he still loves you even if he was an arse."
"Narcissa, Holy Merlin. I don't care. How did it come in to the conversation?"
"Does is matter he knows." Narcissa said.
Raine ran out of the compartment and ran towards Gideon's compartment. James sighed and quickly followed her.
When Raine reached his compartment she stood there and steadied her breathing before knocking on the door.
"What?" Fabian yelled at the door.
"Can I come in?"
"Sure why not."
Raine opened the door and stood there. "Look we need to talk." She stated.
Gideon looked up from the window, "About?"
"Who have you told?"
Raine sighed. "About what happened to me earlier, on the train."
"Them." Gideon replied, "Are you okay?"
Raine looked over at Caine and Fabian. "I'm fine. Look, you guys can't tell anyone else." Raine demanded.
"Umm why not?" Gideon asked.
"Just, please, don't tell anyone else." Raine said. "Please Gideon?" she asked as James walked into the compartment.
"Well all right. I mean I wasn't going to go around and tell everyone, but what about Nate?"
"No." Raine said. "Don't tell him. Please? Nobody in this compartment say anything to Nate."
"Say anything to me about what?" Nate asked who was standing behind James.
Raine took in a quick breath. "Um, nothing Nate." Raine said hesitantly.
"What's going on Raine?"
"Nate, nothing." Raine said not turning around to face him.
Nate turned to James, "What's going on Potter?"
"James, don't you dare say a word." Raine said while quickly turning around.
"I... I... Oh god I'm going to die." James said looking between Raine and Nate.
Raine rolled her eyes and turned around to face Fabian, Caine, and Gideon. "If any of you say a word to anyone else I'm going to quit the team." Raine said before turning around and pushing past Nate and James.
Caine looked them, "Don't say a bloody a word."
"Raine get back here!" Nate yelled following after her.
Raine kept walking. "What Nate?"
“What the bloody hell is going on?" Nate demanded.
"Raine Aida de Luca! Get your arse back here." Nate yelled following after her.
Raine stopped. "What Nate?"
"What is going on? Don't you just tell me, nothing. I know there is something going on and if you don't tell me I'll make someone else."
"Nate, nothing that you need to worry about. I mean, you should worry, but everything is fine. I'm fine. There is nothing to worry about." Raine said.
"Now you really have my interest. What's going on?" Nate demanded.
"Nothing Nate. Nothing is going on.... anymore. Nate please don't worry about it."
"Raine, I'm your cousin can't you tell me what's going on?"
"I could. But, if I did you would treat me as a child and constantly keep an eye on me and I don't want that."
“Raine, please what's going on?"
"Nate, please, don't worry about it. I don't want you to treat me like a bloody five year old and I don't want you to hurt anyone else." Raine said.
"Tell me what happened or I'm going to go get it out of Potter."
"Nate, he doesn't know." Raine lied.
"Bull shite Raine."
"Nate, please. Just leave James and everyone else out of this conversation. Why do you want to know what happened so badly? For all you know we could be planning you a surprise party. Whoops, crap. Never mind."
"Oh I don't know the fact that there is no reason to throw me a party. I want to know because you’re my cousin and I care about your well being." Nate replied.
Raine rolled her eyes and pulled Nate into the same empty compartment that she told James what had happened. "Sit." Raine demanded
Nate sat down, "Okay what's going on?"
"Before I tell you, you have to promise me two things." Raine stated.
"Number one; you will not treat me as if I am five years old after I tell you. And number two; you will not go on a killing rampage after I tell you."
"Alright I promise."
Raine took in a deep breath. "I went to the front of the train today."
"Why the hell did you go there?"
"I wanted to go for a little walk. Ophelia told me to become friends with people I never would, so I automatically thought of some one in Slytherin." Raine said.
"Okay, so, I talked with Rosier and MacNair for a little bit before I heard someone scream. So, I ran to see whom it was. It was Narcissa and she was mad because of her arranged marriage with Lucius. I tried to show her all the good things about marrying him but she just came back with negatives. Then she said something about Gideon cheating on me so I got really mad and said something hurtful and then stormed out." Raine took in another deep breath.
"Okay so what happened next?" Nate asked.
"Well, I ran into Rosier. And he asked me if Narcissa was being mean to me. I said no and then asked him who is fiancé was. He said the she went to Beauxbatons and her name is Aimee Stratton. Then I said that I knew her and that she was a French whore and then I started skipping down the hallway. The he said it was better to be a whore than to be a prude. And I stopped and asked him what he meant. He said, "You know exactly what I said." I got a little upset and said that I wasn't a prude. He told me to prove it. So, I asked him how, he told me I was a prude. So, I yelled at him and told him I am not a prude and asked him what he wanted me to do to prove it. So, he asked me if I was a virgin or not." Raine sighed. "Nate, I'm just going to cut to the chase. I don't want to go any further. Nate, Evan Rosier tried to rape me."
"Oy, Raine are you okay? And I mean are you really okay not just physically but mentally, and if you say you're fine I might have to hurt you." Nate asked.
"Nate, I'm okay. Growing up with you, Walter, Donnalyn, Aiden, and Ella, I've already had some mental disabilities." Raine laughed. "Nate, I'm good. At least I think I am."
"Come here." Nate said standing up.
Raine walked over to Nate and gave him a hug. "I'm not sure what I would've done if Narcissa hadn't come along."
Nate tightly wrapped his arms around her, "I don't know Raine. You're just lucky she did."
"You think I don't know that? And I probably thanked her and Snape like a million times."
"Yeah, Snape. He dealt with Rosier when Narcissa and I left the compartment."
"Alright. You sure you're going to be okay?" Nate asked not letting go of her.
"I will be once I'm able to breathe again." Raine said sarcastically.
"To bad because you're not aloud."
"Damn." Raine said. "So, why did you come to Gideon's compartment?"
"I was walking by, the door wasn't shut, and James was standing by the door." Nate replied holding her tighter still.
"Oh, Where were you going?" Raine asked, "Okay Nate, now, I think I'm starting to lose circulation in my body."
"To see you smartie." Nate replied loosening his hold on her a little.
"Thanks. Okay. Where were you? I thought you stayed in the compartment with James."
"Nope I went back to my own. Emmeline was bugging me."
"Oh, why did I even have to ask? How much longer until we're at Hogwarts? I want to talk to Dumbledore."
"In about 3, 2, 1."Nate said as the train rolled to a stop.
Raine started jumping up and down. "Yay! I finally can get away from everyone!" She yelled as she left the compartment.
"Raine slow down!" Nate yelled as he followed her.
"Why?" Raine said as she entered the compartment that had all her stuff in it. She looked around and spotted her stuff. She grabbed it and walked back out. Nate! Hurry up!"
"Raine what the hell are you doing anyways?"
"What do you mean?" she asked.
"You leave your stuff and here and they take care of it with magic. Like they always have."
"Oh!" Raine said. "Okay." she then opened some random compartment and threw all her stuff in there. "Okay Nate let’s go!"
Nate rolled his eyes and pulled his cousin off the train.
"Nate, where do we go when we get to the castle? It's not dinner time yet, is it?"
"Nope we have about two hours. You can go back to your common room." Nate replied pulling her into one of the carriages.
"Yay! Come with me?" Raine asked.
"To your common room?"
"No silly, to talk to the unicorns!" Raine laughed. "Of course to the common room. Sirius might be glad to see you and you and Lily can snog!"
Nate grinned, "I'm actually supposed to met Lily in the Library. So if you can find her and tell her otherwise."
"Aye Aye Captain!" Raine looked outside of her carriage and spotted Lily. "Lily! Lily Evans! Nathaniel Beauchamp would like to inform you that he is coming into our common room for your snog fest instead of in the library!”
"Raine!" Nate exclaimed while Lily laughed and came over and joined them in their carriage.
"Thanks for that knowledge Raine." Lily replied, "So how was the rest of your summer?"
"Summer? It was our winter break, silly!" Raine said. "But, it was okay, kind of lonely. James was under a spell to keep him from talking to me and Nate was in Italy. Or over at your house." Raine winked.
"Actually Nate couldn't come over. I got confused for a second because we went to South America for break. So to me it was like summer break." Lily said looking down at her tan arms.
"Okie Dokie. So, how was your train ride?" Raine asked.
“It was okay.”
"That's good. Oh! Guess what Lily?”
"I'm going to ask Dumbledore if I can start a Lacrosse team!" Raine replied excitedly.
"Oh I want to play. Wait I don't know how."
"It's easy! It's like the best muggle sport ever!" Raine said. "If you join the team I'll teach you!"
"Okay you better." Lily said.
Raine smiled. "I will." A couple of minutes later the carriages reached the school and Raine looked out of her carriage and saw Sirius. "Look! Sirius!" Raine yelled.
"Yes I believe that is Sirius." Nate replied stepping out of the carriage and helping both Raine and Lily out.
As soon as Raine stepped foot on the ground she ran over to Sirius and gave him a big hug, which knocked him over. "Sirius! I’ve missed you!" Raine squealed.
"Oy, I missed you to Raine." Sirius replied standing up and pulling Raine with him.
"Hi Sirius." Emmeline replied walking over to them
"Well, I'll leave you two love birds alone." Raine said while heading into the castle.
"Thanks Raine!" Sirius yelled after her as he pulled Emmeline into him.
"Get a room." Dorcas replied as she and Remus walked by.
Raine rolled her eyes and kept walking. When she entered the Grand Entrance, she spun herself around and asked herself, "Boy is it good to be back here or what?"
"Talking to yourself again Raine?" James asked.
"But, of course, love." Raine smiled. "I talk to myself because I like dealing with a better class of people."
“That's mean de Luca." James replied throwing her over his shoulder and starting up the stairs to the common room
"Why do I have to be taken up there while over your shoulder?" Raine asked.
"Because you're slow."
"Oy! I am not? Did you see me running towards Sirius? Because he sure didn't!" Raine laughed.
"Yes I did, but you don't run up stairs."
"How do you know that?"
"Because I don't think I have ever seen you run up the stairs.”
"Exactly. But, you've seen me run down stairs. It could work the same way."
"It never works that way with you, Raine." James replied as he said the password and walked into the common room dropping Raine onto one of the couches.
"Ouch. That hurt my bum!" Raine stated.
James laughed and dropped down next to her as Lily and Nate, Emmeline and Sirius, and Dorcas and Remus walked through the door.
"Looks like everyone is involved with some one except us mate." Raine said. "We aren't going to be able to talk to them I hope you know."
"Yep, Padfoot!" James yelled.
"What?" Sirius said pulling away from Emmeline.
"What did you do without us?"
"Nothing, I wrote to you and kicked myself for not talking you up on your offer."
"What offer?" Raine asked.
"To come home with me for break too." James replied since Sirius was already snogging Emmeline again.
Raine looked around the room. "Eww, can we go somewhere? I don't feel like being in here with the attack of the face eaters is playing."
James laughed, "Come one let's go up to my room then."
"Alright." Raine said as she stood up from the couch.
James walked into his room and groaned, "I think Sirius shouldn't be left alone." He said as he walked over to the windows and opened them.
"Eww, what is that smell?" Raine said as she held her nose with her thumb and index finger and walked over to James' bed.
"Sirius not having to clean or pick anything up without Remus here to yell at him." James replied picking up some clothes off the floor and tossing them onto Sirius' bed.
"Ew." Raine said. "How can anyone live like this?" she asked as she picked up a pair of Sirius' boxers that was lying on James' bed.
"Someone who has had house elves to do all the cleaning. The house elves actually told us they quit cleaning our room." James replied removing the clothing of his and Remus' bed and dumping them all onto Sirius' bed.
"What? I didn't think they could do that!" Raine exclaimed.
"Yeah when it takes them all day to clean up after us." James replied starting to clean up the floor.
"James?" Raine asked.
"Don't you have a wand?"
"Yeah. I'm good."
"So, you don't mind cleaning up Sirius' dirty laundry with your bare hands?" Raine said as she got out her own wand and gave it a flick before James could answer her. When the entire room was clean James looked up at her. "What?" Raine asked innocently.
“Raine! Now I’m not going to know how many of those clothes were actually mine.”
"Whoops! I'm sorry!" Raine said. "If you share a room with Sirius Black you should have your initials on every article of clothing you own."
"I do, but that doesn't mean he doesn't get lazy and wears my clothes." James replied sitting down on the floor.
"James, I'm sorry. I didn't know!"
James groaned, "It's alright."
Raine got off James bed and sat right next to him, "I really am sorry for every thing. You know that right?"
"Yes I know. What do you want?"
"Nothing! Why do I always have to want something?" Raine asked.
"Alright just asking." James replied pulling out a pack of exploding snap cards.
"Another bloody game of exploding snap?"
"I wasn't going to play. I just wanted to keep my hands busy." James replied putting the cards back into his pocket and pulling out the snitch his cousin gave him.
Raine rolled her eyes. "James?"
"What?" James asked letting the snitch go before grabbing it again.
"Let's play a game." Raine stated.
"Of what?" James asked again repeating the action of letting the snitch go and grabbing it again.
"I don't know, truth? Or we could play Ding Dong Ditch!" Raine stated.
"Truth it is then." James said grabbing the snitch.
Raine sighed. "Fine. I'll go first." Raine said. "Why do you constantly have to have your hands busy?"
"I have trouble concentrating if I don't." James replied letting go of the snitch.
"Oh. Okay." Raine said.
"Yep. Okay so why are you so nosey?"
"Because I have no other way of obtaining the information my head holds. No one else will tell me."
"Okay then." James replied grabbing the snitch again.
"Why are you afraid of Nate when you know something about me that he doesn't?"
"Because if it's something bad and I didn't tell him he really would kill me."
"Oh, aright then."
"Okay, how are feeling?"
"I'm feeling a little violated. But, other than that I'm okay."
"Anything I can do to make you feel any better?" James asked still playing with snitch. He wasn't even looking at it anymore.
"Not really. I think only time can do that. I'll be fine." Raine said while looking at the floor.
"Why is the floor so interesting right now?” James asked.
"Because, it doesn't ask me questions that I've answered a million times." Raine said while looking up at James with a smirk on her face.
"Now, are you done asking me questions?"
"My turn I guess." Raine said. "How much do you actually like Peter?"
"He's okay a little shy most of the time." James replied, "Why?"
"He's so annoying and jumpy." Raine said. "Oh, no reason. I was just wondering."
"That's not nice Raine. He's one of my friends."
“So? Narcissa is one of my friends and you don't seem to like her!"
"I don't say mean things about her behind her back." James replied catching the snitch again.
Raine sighed. "I don't say mean things about Peter behind his back! I say them to his face!"
"You just said them behind his back."
"I don't say things behind his back that I haven't already said to his face James."
"Why are so mean to him?" James asked.
"Why does he hang out with Regulus?"
"No, he doesn't"
Raine smirked. "I told you I'm nosy for a reason Potter. I spotted him and Regulus hanging out in the library a couple times. So, I asked questions about it and he told me not to say anything to his fellow marauders."
"Sure Raine. Stop lying." James replied standing up and going over to Sirius trunk.
"I'm not! I swear James!" Raine said seriously.
"I don't believe you." James replied opening Sirius trunk and looking around in it.
"Why the bloody hell not?" Raine asked.
"Because it's Peter." James replied sighing and he closed the trunk and walked over to Sirius’ nightstand and opened the drawer.
Raine rolled her eyes. "So? Whenever he says he's going to the library to 'study' he's really going to talk to Regulus and his friends."
"Sure Raine." James replied pulling a piece of paper out of Sirius' nightstand.
"Damn it Potter! I wouldn't lie about this!" Raine yelled.
"I'm not so sure you wouldn't you don't like Peter." James replied and then mumbled something underneath his breath.
"Because I saw him sneaking around with Slytherins!"
"Prove it!" James said his eyes quickly scanning the piece of paper.
Raine got up and looked at the piece of paper with James. Her eyes saw the name of Peter Petigrew and she saw it floating towards the name of Regulus Black. "See! Right there!" Raine said while pointing to Peter's name.
James sighed, "You don't know if he wants to be there."
"So, why is he just staying there? Where is that invisibility cloak of yours?" Raine asked. "Get it on and I'll prove it to you."
"I don't know I left it with Sirius and it wasn't in his trunk." James replied.
Raine sighed. "Accio James' invisibility cloak!" Raine yelled. A couple seconds later the cloak appeared in Raine's hands, "Here. Put it on." Raine demanded as she threw the cloak at James.
"Great now I don't know where Padfoot was hiding this either." James replied grabbing it.
"Boo hoo Potter." Raine said sarcastically as she rushed down stairs and out of the common room.
"Are you coming James?" Raine whispered.
James followed Raine down the stairs smacked Sirius in the back of the head and the out of the common room all under the cloak. "Ouch." Sirius said looking around
"Yes I'm right here." James replied.
Raine laughed. "Where does your little paper say Peter and Regulus are?"
"My little paper?" James asked.
"Don't play dumb with me. What does that piece of parchment say Peter and Regulus are?"
"I'll have you know it's a map. Of the entire school and all the secret passageways and it says where everyone is any second of any day no matter what." James snapped.
Raine rolled her eyes and glared at a pair of Hufflepuffs that passed by. "Yes I am talking to myself! Your suspicions have been confirmed!" Raine said sarcastically. "Whatever James. Where are Peter and Regulus?"
"Slytherin common room." James replied in shock.
"I told you!" Raine said. "Now, lets head down there. I can get some one to let us in." Raine said.
"Fine." James replied walking down the stairs.
When Raine and James got down to the dungeons all the Slytherins looked at Raine as if she were a disease. Raine spotted Narcissa and called her name. "Narcissa!" Narcissa turned around and smiled at Raine. "Hey, you're pretty brave to come down here by your self."
"Nothing much. I'm just looking for my friend Peter Petigrew. Have you seen him?" Narcissa nodded her head.
"Yeah, he's in the common room talking with Regulus and Severus. Do you need him now?" Raine shook her head.
"Can you get me in the common room? I have something really important to tell him." Narcissa said yes and told Raine to follow her. Narcissa whispered the password and told Raine to walk on in. When in there Peter saw her and his eyes got wide.
"Umm... Raine what are you doing here?" Peter stuttered.
"I just came to see you Peter." Raine said. "I have something important to show you."
"Really... what would that be?"
"Just something important. Come here and I'll show you." Raine said as she walked over to a corner in the common room.
Peter shakily stood up and walked over.
Raine smiled and grabbed a hold of thin air and the cloak fell from James' body. "Isn't this great?" Raine said sarcastically.
James glared at Raine and then grabbed his cloak looked at Peter and stormed out of the Slytherin common room.
Raine smiled and walked back into the middle of the common room. "So, what were you fellas discussing today?" Raine asked Regulus.
"Raine." Narcissa said, "I think you should go."
"Alright." Raine started. "See you guys later,” she said before she walked out of the Slytherin Common Room to follow James.
James stormed into the common room cloak still in his hand extremely pissed off.
Raine soon came in after him looking a little guilty.
"What happened Prongs?" Remus asked. "Raine, what did you do?"
"I didn't do anything but what James told me too!" Raine stated.
"I'm going to see what's up with him." Sirius replied removing himself from Emmeline, "Remus you better come too."
"Okay." Remus said as he stood up and walked up the stairs. "We'll be back down in a little while."
The two boys walked into their room.
"What's going on James?" Sirius asked sitting down on his bed.
"Thanks to Raine the Slytherins know about the invisibility cloak. She needs a bloody brain. She thought Peter was actually hanging out with the Slytherins so I went along with her and she pulled the cloak of me in the middle of the common room!" James ranted.
"Oy. So does Peter have enough information on the Slytherins yet?" Sirius asked.
"I don't know!" James yelled.
"So the Slytherins know about the cloak." Remus said.
Raine came up a couple seconds later. "James? I'm sorry. I just did what you told me to do."
"Get out." James said.
"Fine. But I hope you know that I am sorry." Raine said before she went back down stairs.
"Why didn't you just tell her about Peter?" Remus asked after Raine had left.
"She doesn't like him do you really think she would have believed him, and that she's all buddy buddy with Slytherins now she would have freaked and wouldn't let us do our prank." James replied glaring at Remus.
"What do you mean she's buddy buddy with Slytherins now?" Sirius asked.
"She's friends with Narcissa and she even asked me to be nice to Snape."
Sirius rolled his eyes. "I hope you said no Prongs. Why is she friends with Narcissa now? And why would she ask you to be nice to Snape?"
"Of course I said no. Rosier tried to rape her on the train, but if she hadn't been stupid and gone into the Slytherin area in the first place she would have been fine. Narcissa apparently came to her rescue and then asked Snape to take care of Rosier. Raine's okay I've asked her about a million times. She says she just feels violated but that's it."
Remus shook his head. "What was she doing at the front of the train anyways?"
"That girl just can't stay out of trouble, can she?" Sirius asked.
"I don't know what she was doing and no she can't even if her life depended on it." James replied throwing himself on to his bed.
"It could but will have to be very careful to not let her know about the prank." James replied lying down on his bed.
"It's not going to be hard. She's not that smart, we could fool her into doing anything." Sirius said more to himself than to anyone else.
"Probably but what are we going to do. The Slytherins know about the cloak." James replied pulling out the snitch again.
"Did you hear the password to the Slytherin Common Room?" Remus asked.
"No." James replied scowling, "Peter might know though."
"Yeah." Sirius said.
"You can't blame her for everything. She didn't know. And, what did she mean when she said "I was just doing what James told me too'?" Remus asked.
"I don't know. I didn't tell her to do anything." James replied grabbing the snitch.
"Are you sure?" Remus questioned.
"I told her to prove it."
Remus sighed. "You know Raine will do anything in her power to prove you wrong, James."
"Yes Moony, but I only told her to prove that Wormtail was hanging out with Regulus not show the Slytherins my cloak!" James exclaimed throwing the snitch at Remus head.
"Well, how was she supposed to prove it to you? I know she didn't have to show the Slytherins your cloak, but..."
"She did going down there. She could have ended it there. Don't keep sticking up for Moony. She can think for herself and she wasn't thinking earlier." James replied grabbing the snitch as it tried to fly away him.
Remus sighed and said, "Well, sorry Prongs. Who else is going to stick up for her?"
"Hey, I've got a plan guys." Sirius said.
They both turned to Sirius, "What the plan Padfoot?"
"Well, what if we ask Raine to go back down there and talks to Regulus. While she's talking to him and all his goons we can be up in his room planting all those dungbombs I picked up at Hogsmeade while you guys were gone. Or, we could just be standing there listening to them." Sirius stated.
"Hmm . . . We could do both. We could use the invisibility charm Moony found and the cloak, but the thing is we can't tell Raine. She would never let us do it." James replied.
"Right, so I could just tell her that she should go down stairs and apologize to Narcissa. And we could follow her." Remus said.
"Yeah that would work. So Moony why don't you stay and listen to the conversations and Prongs and I will dung bomb the place." Sirius said standing up.
"Okay. But, I think you need to accept Raine's apology first. Other wise I don't think she'll apologize to Narcissa." Remus said.
"No!" James declared.
"I don't think our plan will work then. Plus, she will never forgive herself for doing what she did. So, in turn she won't listen to me."
"Then we're not doing the prank." James declared, "I'm tired of her."
"Earlier today you were all about her, Prongs." Remus stated.
James glared Remus, "Shut up."
Sirius smirked. "What is he talking about Prongs?"
"I don't know." James replied playing with the snitch.
"I think you do, other wise you wouldn't have told him to shut up."
"Or maybe I don't want to hear anything about her right now." James declared.
Both Sirius and Remus rolled their eyes. "Oh come on. You don't have to mean it. Just apologize!" Sirius whined.
"No! She deserves me to be mad at her for once. She needs to think before she does things!" James yelled.
"Apparently she did think about a lot of stuff over the Holidays. You not talking to her had her thinking about a lot of things James. I can see it in her eyes. She's thought about you as more than a friend." Remus said.
"Well I don't know if I want anything to do with her anymore." James replied turning over onto his stomach.
"We both know you're lying with that one Prongs." Sirius stated. "Just, accept her apology. It'll make everyone happier."
"Well it won't make me happy." James replied, "She practically waved the cloak in front of the Slytherins' faces saying this is why you can't ever pin anything on them!"
"James?" came a soft voice from the door. "I am sorry. I swear. I know I wasn't thinking, and I'm probably the stupidest person alive. I'm really sorry."
"Why don't you come in Raine?” Sirius called out before James could say anything.
"Because he'll hurt me." Raine said.
"I promise he won't." Remus replied.
"Yes he will. He hates me right now and I don't blame him. I hate myself right now for doing that. I shouldn't have even said anything." Raine said softly.
"Raine get your bloody arse in here or I'm going to hurt you!" Sirius said.
Raine jumped and slowly walked in. "Everyone I love hates me. James, Gideon, Aiden. I bet you two are next." Raine said while pointing to Remus and Sirius.
"Oy. Gideon doesn't hate you and I don't either. I just don't like you right now." James replied.
Raine gave a small smile. "I said I was sorry, James. What more do you want from me?"
"The Slytherins' knowledge of my cloak back." James snapped sitting up.
"Well, give them a memory subtraction potion in their pumpkin juice at dinner tonight!" Raine snapped back.
"There isn't such a thing." James replied.
"Yes there is." Raine said. "How do you think you can't remember the first time I broke up with you? I broke up with you twice and I regretted the first time I did, so I gave you that potion, so we still went out." Raine said. "You can ask Remus. He helped me make the potion."
"There isn't a potion for that Raine. There is only a spell to erase someone's entire memory." James snapped, "I know these things my parents are Aurors after all. There used to be a potion like that but they had to erase it from existence because people were using to make people only forget the bad deeds they did."
"So! The recipe in the restricted section of the library! Madame Pince never removes books from her library. Even if there are illegal things in them! If they are illegal, she just moves them into the very back of the restricted section." Raine replied.
James groaned, "You're impossible."
"I just think you don't want to come to the realization that I maybe right!"
"No the fact that you can be put Azkaban for using that potion anymore might be the reason." James snapped.
Raine sighed and then sat next to James on his bed. "James, I'm just trying to help. Don't make me feel even stupider than I already do."
"Then why did you remove my cloak?" James demanded.
"I'm sorry! I don't know why I did!" Raine stated. "Wh- What if I could make it up to you?"
"How would you do that?" James asked.
"I could get you into the Slytherin Common Room again. But, don't take your cloak. Find some kind of spell to hide yourself. I could distract everyone while you went around casting the memory charm on them."
"Maybe." James said lying back on his bed.
"James. Please, don't hate me anymore."
"Already told you I don't hate you. I dislike you."
"Well, please don't 'dislike' me anymore."
"Oy. That's not the problem it's just your plan sucked.”
"How? And which plan, Potter?" Raine asked angrily.
James grinned cheekily at her, "You can't just erase all the Slytherins' memories that's to obvious."
"Not me, you git. You are going to do it."
"I wouldn’t pull a prank that obvious Raine." James replied.
"How would they know it was you?"
"Well they wouldn't but they wouldn't have any memory!"
"Well, how do you suppose this 'prank' could be better?"
"Does it matter? Just get us into their common room and I'll stop disliking you." James said sitting up.
"Who is 'us' Potter?" Raine asked.
"Moony, Padfoot, and myself, Raine."
"I don't know." Raine said hesitantly.
"Fine then get out." James replied lying back down.
"Okay! Fine, get your stuff and meet me down stairs, in the dungeon." Raine said before walking out of the room.
James grinned at his friends, "Get the dung bombs Padfoot. Moony what was that charm again?"
After the three boys had gotten everything they needed they slipped past everyone in the common room and went down to the dungeons. They saw Raine standing there leaning against a wall. Sirius slipped up behind her and threw her over his invisible shoulder.
Raine yelped in surprise. "Who is this?" Raine said while poking Sirius' back, hard.
"Ouch de Luca. Don't bruise me." Sirius replied quietly.
"Oh, sorry. Put me down. People will start staring." Raine said.
Sirius sighed, "You ruin all my fun. I wanted people to think you were insane."
"They already do." Raine said. "Now, put me down."
"Fine." Sirius replied putting her on the ground again.
"Thank you." Raine said as she pulled her shirt down. "Now, let's find someone in Slytherin that likes me." Raine said to herself. "Oy! MacNair!" Raine shouted.
MacNair ignored her and walked into the Slytherin common room the portal shutting directly behind him.
"Damn." Raine said. She started looking around again when she spotted Narcissa. She ran up to her and asked, "Please Narcissa I need to get back into the that Common Room. I need to apologize to Regulus and everyone else. Can you please let me in?"
"I don't know Raine. You did bring Potter in last time." Narcissa replied crossing her arms and narrowing her blue eyes.
"But he isn't with me this time." Raine stated.
"How do I know? He does have an invisibility cloak." Narcissa replied.
Raine sighed. "If he was with me, he'd be some where close by so he could immediately grab who ever was bothering me. And you could still hit him if he was near. Swing your arms around." Raine said. "You won't feel anything because he isn't here!"
"I could but then if he isn't here I would look like an idiot." Narcissa snapped.
"Well, then I'll do it!" Raine said before swinging her arms around wildly. "I told you, he isn't here!"
"Or since you said it loud enough he moved away from you." Narcissa replied leaning against a wall.
Raine sighed. "Please Narcissa, just let me apologize. As I am going into the common room you can touch the air around me or something."
"Then I would look like an idiot." Narcissa replied, "Last time."
Narcissa walked over to a normal looking spot on the grey brick and mumbled something. The portal lifted up and showed the long narrow entrance into the Green and Silver of the Slytherin common room.
"Thank you Narcissa!" Raine yelled as she walked through. When she got into the Slytherin Common Room she spotted Regulus and his goons sitting in the middle of the room. "Regulus?" Raine asked quietly.
"de Luca." Regulus replied as Narcissa walked in and sat on the arm of her cousin's chair.
"I just wanted to say I'm sorry."
"About?" the third year asked.
"Everything. Bringing James in here and disturbing your house. Is there anything I can do to make it up to you?" Raine asked trying to buy more time for her friends.
"Like what?" Regulus asked.
"I don't know. What do you want?" Raine asked.
"You to leave and not come back." he snapped as Narcissa brushed some of his hair back down.
"Is there anything else? I'll do anything." Raine stated wishing Remus, Sirius, and James would hurry up.
"What could you even do that I would want?" he asked glaring lightly at his cousin whom narrowed her eyes in return.
Raine slowly walked up to Regulus and softly whispered in his ear, "I could do anything."
"I've done better then you, de Luca." he replied as Narcissa eyed Raine.
James slipped back down the stairs with Remus and Sirius following him. James wrapped his arms around Raine and whispered in her ear, "We're done thanks."
Raine sighed "Alright, fine. I'll just be off then. You can take me up on my offer when ever." Raine said as she waved goodbye to everyone before exiting the Slytherin Common Room.
Before Raine was completely gone she saw Narcissa fall on top of Regulus and then felt a burst of wind go past her. She could hear light laughter from outside of the tunnel.
When Raine came out of the tunnel and into the dungeons she whispered loudly. "Alright where are you guys?"
"I'm right here. Moony is trying to help Padfoot up off the floor." James replied from behind her.
Raine could hear Sirius still laughing, "Did you see her face!"
Raine jumped. "Okay, why did you guys do that? Narcissa never did anything!"
"I don't like my cousin and she was about to murder you with your talk of shagging with Regulus." Sirius replied standing up.
"I wouldn't have had to offer it to Regulus if you guys would've hurried your arses up!" Raine snapped as she started walking up the stairs.
"Sorry but genius takes time." James replied looking around before mumbling the counter to the charm.
Raine just rolled her eyes and asked, "So, what did you guys do?"
"Not telling you." Sirius replied mumbling the counter as well while Remus did the same.
Raine huffed. "Fine, then I'm not going anywhere." she stated as she immediately stopped where she was.
"Alright Moony will you." James said.
Remus sighed picked Raine up and started carrying her up the stairs.
"Let me down! You stupid gits!" Raine yelled as she started hitting Remus.
"Oy be nice at least I didn't throw you over my shoulder." Remus replied grimacing as Raine hit a bruise from the full moon.
"You're right Remy. I'm sorry." Raine said as she gave the one finger salute to Sirius who was laughing at her. Sirius started laughing harder still and it was almost bark-like. James grinned and told the fat lady the password.
"Jez Sirius, you sound like a bloody dog." Raine stated. "Remy, now that we're in the Common Room would you mind putting me down?"
The marauders all grinned at each other and then Remus said, "Yeah sure." And he set Raine down on the couch.
"I appreciate it." Raine said.
Sirius had dropped down next to Emmeline.
"Dorcas, I think I'm going to head up to bed I'm tired." Remus told her leaning down to kiss her lightly.
"Alright Remus. Good night." Dorcas replied.
"Night Remy!" Raine said as she sat down next to Dorcas.
"Night everyone." Remus replied before walking up the stairs to his dormitory.
"So what were you guys all doing?" Dorcas asked pushing her blonde hair out of her face.
"Apologizing to and hitting on Regulus." Raine said as she shuddered.
"Eww!" Dorcas exclaimed, "Why would you ever do that?"
"To distract him." Raine replied
"For what exactly?" Dorcas asked.
"I don't know! They won't tell me." Raine said as she pointed at Sirius and James.
"Oy. Why would we?" James asked, "Well I think I'm going up to bed to. I'm bored."
"James! No, stay down here with me, please?" Raine asked innocently. "I don't want to be here without someone else."
"You have Dorcas now that Remus went up stairs." James replied standing up.
Raine sighed. "Fine. Dorcas? Want to go down to the kitchen? I'm hungry."
"Not really, I was thinking about going up to the dorm and reading one of the books Remus gave me." Dorcas said standing up.
"See James. Fine, I guess I'll go by myself." Raine replied standing up and walking over to the portal that led to the rest of the school.
James groaned and followed Raine out of the portal.
"No, don't follow me. You're tired. Go to bed. I'll be fine." Raine stated.
"No." James replied catching up to her, "I can't let you go by yourself."
"And why not? I'm a big girl. And I have my wand. I'll be fine."
"Because Nate gave me one of those looks." James replied, "and do you even remember how to get into the kitchen?"
"Yes, I do remember how to get into the kitchen." Raine said as she turned around to go back into the Common Room. "I don't want to go to the kitchen now. I'm not hungry." Raine lied.
"Fine." James exclaimed, "If you don't want me to come I'll come back to the common room and deal with Nate."
"No, I have a better idea." Raine stated.
"And what's that?" James asked.
"Let's go to the Room of Requirement."
"You know about the Room of Requirement?" James asked.
"Yes. Is that a problem?" Raine questioned sarcastically.
"No, I just didn’t know you knew about it." James replied.
"I know about it. I just don't remember how to get there."
James grinned, "Good come on I know of a short cut." James replied walking towards a darker patch of the stonewall.
"Alright." Raine said as she walked behind James. "What are you going to do?"
"What do you mean what am I going to do?" James asked tapping on the stonewall with his wand and then the stones moved aside opening up to a small winding passageway.
"Never mind." Raine said while shaking her head. "Where are we going?"
“To the Room of Requirement." James said walking down the passageway that the further they went more torches lit up and after they passed them they went back out.
"This isn't the way I went with Gideon." Raine blurted out.
"How did I know it was with Prewett, and I told you that it's a secret passageway I found with Moony, Padfoot, and Wormtail." James stated as he ducked under a cobweb.
"You never ever said it was a secret passage you found with them!" Raine exclaimed. "In fact, you only said it was a shortcut." Raine stated as she ran into the cobweb. "EW!" she yelled as she tried to grab the web from her face.
"Oy sorry meant to." James replied turning around and pulling the cobweb off of her face, "Pay attention when I duck next time won't you."
"Thank you. And I'll try." Raine said. "Now, how much longer do we have to be in this god-fore-saken tunnel?"
James sighed and pushed on the wall in front of him, "We're done."
"Thank heavens." Raine said as she came out of the tunnel with a smile on her face.
James finished walking down the hallway until he came to the picture of Barnabas the Barmy.
Raine followed and told James, "You can pick the room. As long as it has food in it, I'm good."
"I thought you said you weren't hungry!" James exclaimed walking back and forth in front of the blank stretch of wall.
James opened the door that appeared and motioned for Raine to go in first. Once in side they saw an entire table full of food and some nice couches a fireplace and some muggle things like a TV and video games. James grinned grabbed some cookies and went and sat down in front of the TV.
"So, I lied. What are you going to do about it now?" Raine smiled as she picked up a piece of pizza and sat down next to James. "Want a bite?" she asked as she took a bite and then held it out for James.
"I'm going to play some video games, and sure." James replied taking a bite and then grabbing a controller and turning on the video games system.
"OHH! Suber Marbio Brobers!" Raine said with a mouth full of pizza. "That's like the best game ever!" she finished after she had swallowed her food.
James rolled his eyes and leaned forward and handed her a controller, "Stop talking with your mouth full. Didn't your parents teach you any manners?"
"Yes, but it doesn't mean I can't talk with food in my mouth when they aren't around!" Raine smiled as she took the controller.
James sighed. They played for about three hours and Raine ate all of the food. James was playing by himself when he looked over at Raine and found she had fallen asleep. James smiled turned off the game and picked Raine up and put her on the couch. A pile of blankets popped into view on the end of the other couch. James walked over to grabbed one and tucked it around Raine before going back to the other couch and lying down himself.
