Author’s Note: Chapter five! Yayyy! Okay, so this chapter is going to be two parts, this is Part 1 and there is going to be a Part 2. The reason is because I didn’t want to make a hugely long chapter because it would take forever to read. Sorry for any grammatical, spelling or punctuational errors in this story.
Later that day, in the afternoon, Hermione and Ginny were in the Gryffindor common room while Lavender and Parvati had Divination.
“Herms, I think Fred really likes you,” Ginny said.
“I think I like him too, but that’s not saying I don’t still like Ron. Like you went out with other people and liked them, but deep down you still liked Harry, right?” Ginny nodded then Hermione continued, “So that’s what it’s like for me right now. I like Fred enough to go out with him, but deep down I’m waiting for Ron and will always like him more, unless Fred manages to claim my heart somehow.” Ginny agreed by nodding her head again.
“Okay so, when Fred asks you out, that begins phase three. We’ve already administered phase two, which was the flirting phase and now we move onto the dating phases. Phase three is the phase where you begin dating someone and hopefully just like go to Hogsmeade, which is going to be Fred. Got it?” Ginny said.
“Yup,” Hermione replied with a smile.
Then they saw Fred and George enter the common room. George went over to his girlfriend, Katie Bell and Fred walked over to where Ginny and Hermione were sitting.
“Hey ladies,” Fred smoothly greeted.
Hermione grinned and then Fred said, “Ginny can I talk to Hermione alone?”
“Sure, no problem big brother,” Ginny said and left and went over to talk to George and Katie.
“So what did you need to talk to me about?” Hermione asked Fred. Little did they know, but they were being watched. Ron was hiding behind an armchair wearing a pair of Extendable Ears with Harry sitting next to him wearing them too.
“Ron, this is wrong. We shouldn’t be spying on them,” Harry said.
“I don’t care. I need to know if he’s going to make a move on Hermione,” Ron said sounding determined and they went back to spying.
“Okay well before I say it I just want to let you know that I’m not acting right now,” Hermione nodded and Fred continued, “Alright, well I really like you Hermione and not just because of your new look, don’t worry I’m not that much of a pervert,” Hermione laughed, “I’ve kind of admired you from afar for a while now and just recently I realized I liked you. I thought you were off limits since you are one of Ron’s best friends, but I decided I don’t care anymore. Hermione I really, really like you, so, Hermione, would you like to go to Hogsmeade with me tomorrow?” Fred said.
“Come on Hermione! Just say no, I don’t like you that way Fred, sorry,” Ron thought.
“That is the sweetest thing anyone has ever said to me. I would love to go to Hogsmeade with you,” Hermione said. Then she went over to him and hugged him and she whispered in his ear, “I like you too.”
“NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!” Ron screamed in his head.
Fred just smiled widely and continued to hug her for a few more seconds then Hermione said, “Sorry Fred, but I have to go, I’ve got Herbology.”
“See you later then,” Fred said then kissed her cheek and then she left for her Herbology class.
“I CAN’T BELIEVE HERMIONE’S GOING WITH FRED TO HOGSMEADE! AND HE JUST KISSED HER CHEEK!’ Ron thought.
Harry looked over at Ron and saw that Ron’s face had a mixture of anger, shock, and sadness, but mostly just anger. Ron’s face and ears were as red as they could possibly go. Harry just waited for the explosion. He counted down in his head, “3….2…1...”
“Can you believe them??!!” Ron yelled.
“Bingo. Right on time, Ron,” Harry thought.
“Ron, I know you have some yelling to do, so let’s go to an empty classroom and silence it, so we don’t cause any disruptions,” Harry suggested.
Ron said okay and they headed to an empty room. As soon as they went in and Harry had silenced it so no one could hear them, Ron erupted with anger.
“I CAN’T BELIEVE HERMIONE SAID YES!!” He yelled.
“Yeah I was kind of surprised myself,” Harry said shrugging.
“HOW CAN YOU NOT BE UPSET??!” Ron yelled again.
“Well, Hermione can do whatever she wants to Ron, it’s her life,” Harry said calmly.
“BUT IT’S FRED, MY BROTHER!” Ron yelled once again.
“So? Ron, you would be this upset no matter who it was,” Harry said.
“I guess you’ve got a point, Harry,” Ron said having finally calmed down.
“All done with the yelling?” Harry asked and Ron nodded his head.
“What do I do?” Ron asked. “And don’t respond with, I dunno, or I’m going to have to kill you.”
“Well, you need to win Hermione back, even though technically she wasn’t ever yours in the first place, but she fancies you,” Harry stated.
“If she likes me so much, then why she’s going to Hogsmeade with Fred tomorrow, Mr. Smarty-Pants?” Ron asked with a smirk.
Harry had to think about that one because believe it or not, Ron had slightly stumped him.
“Well …….. Maybe she’s trying to make you jealous! Yeah that’s it! She’s making you jealous because that’s what both of you always do to the other,” Harry said grinning that he was able to answer the question.
Just then Ginny opened the door and said, “Or maybe she legitimately likes him, did either of you two bloody prats think of that?”
“Ginny?? What are you doing here? And how do you know what were talking about?” Ron questioned starting to look alarmed at how much Ginny might have heard.
Ginny waved a pair of Extendable Ears at them and smirked very evilly.
“I found these behind an armchair in the Common Room. Isn’t that weird? You know what else is really weird? They were right behind the chair that was right where Fred just asked Hermione to go to Hogsmeade with him tomorrow. And from what I’ve just heard, you two know about that, yet you weren’t in the Common Room when he asked. Hmm…..Isn’t that fishy?” Ginny finished with a very, very evil smirk.
“What are you, a bloody detective?” Ron blurted out, “More like a very, very evil detective,” Ron added to himself.
“I guess you can call it that, but I’m more of a person who’s trying to help their best friend,” Ginny said.
“You have a best friend?” Harry asked with a smirk and they both started cracking up.
“Haahaa, very funny, but is that your best insult? Pathetic if you ask me.” Ginny said with a scary, sarcastic edge.
“Geez Ron, when did your sister become so scary?” Harry asked seriously looking creeped out.
“Oh, she’s always been this way, just never in front of other people,” Ron replied casually.
“Oh,” Harry said trying to make it seem like he didn’t like this feisty side of Ginny, but it was obvious he did.
“So Ginny, Oh-Mighty-Sarcastic-One, if you’re so smart, then why is Hermione going with Fred?” Ron asked.
“Well let me think about that. Oh yeah, because he’s sweet, funny, cute, smart, romantic and overall perfect-boyfriend material,” Ginny said.
Ron and Harry just started laughing hysterically. In between fits of laughter, Ron finally managed to say, “Fred? *laughs* Smart? *laughs* Romantic and sweet? *laughs* Are you sure we’re talking about the same person?” Ron finished.
Ginny just waited several more minutes for them to stop laughing.
“I can’t believe you said that!” Harry said.
“Yeah, Fred is not like that description at all!” Ron said, “More like the total opposite.”
“Whatever, you are guys so you will never notice that there is a soft and romantic side of Fred. Us girls on the other hand, definitely notice that side. And so does Hermione, she’s already told me how sweet she thinks he is. So, Hermione is going to Hogsmeade tomorrow with Fred whether you like it or not and you had better not do anything to mess it up for them! Hermione deserves a sweet, caring, funny and thoughtful boyfriend. Well, see you later,” Ginny said and walked out of the room.
She smiled to herself as she walked down the hallway. She had just made it sound like she would kill them if they tried to screw things up with Hermione and Fred, but what she really did was make it so they would do just that. Her and Hermione’s plan was working perfectly. The boys would try to ruin Hermione and Fred’s date, but they wouldn’t be able to succeed because all Hermione and Fred care about is spending time together.
The Next Day
Hermione woke up at 7:00 on Saturday morning. She was so excited because today she was going to Hogsmeade with Fred Weasley!
“I can’t believe I’m going to Hogsmeade with Fred! Fred’s so cute, funny, sweet, romantic, and smart, the perfect boyfriend. I know I’m only making Ron jealous, but nobody said I can’t have fun while doing it!” Hermione thought.
Hermione got out of bed and went into her closet to pick out the perfect outfit for her date with Fred. She knew from what Ginny had told her that Ron and Harry were going to mess up her date, so she wanted to make Ron drool. She hadn’t had a chance to wear her new clothes yet and she was so excited for the perfect opportunity to show them off.
She decided since they were just going to Hogsmeade, to dress slightly dressy, slightly casual. She picked out a dark green v-neck sweater that showed off a large amount of cleavage with a white necklace.
For pants, she picked out a pair of dark denim skinny jeans with a white belt. She decided to wear a pair of green high heels. For once, she decided to keep her hair curly and she piled it on top of her head in a cute, messy bun. She let some curly tendrils slip out of the bun and then she used a spell to make sure her hair stayed in place. Then Ginny walked in.
“HOLY SHIT! HERMS YOU LOOK AMAZING!” Ginny yelled.
“Thank you,” Hermione said smiling.
“Wow. I already see a change in your personality, before you would blush and smile shyly and now you’re totally confident! Good for you, Herms!” Ginny said proudly. “So are you ready to make Ron drool and make him jealous and have fun with Fred at the same time?”
“Oh, yes I am,” Hermione said.
“Oh and by the way, there have been some last minute changes. You are going on a double date,” Ginny said.
“With who?” Hermione asked bewildered.
“Me and Harry,” Ginny said then beamed and giggled.
“OH MY GOSH! NO WAY!” Hermione screamed then ran over and hugged Ginny.
“Yeah, but I don’t know if he legitimately likes me because I think Ron talked him into it so Harry can spy on you and Fred,” Ginny admitted.
“Of course he likes you! Ron probably just used his feelings for you as an advantage for him because they get to spy and Harry gets to hang out with you,” Hermione said knowingly.
“You are so right,” Ginny said smiling once more, “Let’s go.”
Author’s Note: Okay so that was Part 1. Now just to let you know, I know some people may notice that Harry silenced the room that he and Ron were in. So how could Ginny have possibly have heard their conversation? Well, she used the Extendable Ears that she found and they went under the door and into the room, so therefore she heard. Sorry if that was confusing. Also sorry about the cliffhanger I just gave you! I promise the whole next chapter is 100% dedicated to the Hogsmeade date! REVIEW and let me know if you liked it!
