A/N: Here's chapter eight. I hope you enjoy. And don't forget to let me know your thoughts, ideas and feelings about what is happening so far in a review. Thanks!
Blaise felt as if the floor had vanished from underneath his feet. Never before had two simple words had such an effect on him. But then again they weren't really that simple, they were actually quite complicated. Because here in his arms he had a very attractive woman whom he fancied and now it turns out that she is pregnant with some other bloke's baby. 'Lucky bastard. He's probably out there looking for her right now and here she sits wrapped around my arms. Why does life have to be so cruel?'
"Mikayla?" he said questioningly as he continued to stroke her hair and rub her back. She sniffled. "Look at me love."
"What?" she asked as she pulled away and looked into his ocean blue eyes.
"You didn't happen to get any memories as to who the father might be, did you?"
"No." Mikayla sniffled again and swiped at the remaining tears on her face.
Blaise inhaled deeply as he closed and opened his eyes. "Alright, then I guess we'll have to figure out a way to find him as well because I'm sure that whoever he is, he would like to have the mother of his unborn child back."
"But what if I don't want to find him?"
He felt his spirits soar with hope at her words. 'Perhaps she wants to stay here with me. I wouldn't mind that. Granted taking care of another man's kid would be a little odd but I'm sure we could work something out. But I really shouldn't let my imagination get ahead of me.' He tuned back into what she was saying.
"What if he left me because he didn't want the baby? What if I was desperate enough for a baby that I did artificial insemination? Or what if this baby is the result of a one night stand and he doesn't even know about the baby? What if I was a vic-" but she was cut off by his fingers being places upon her lips to silence her.
"Shh Kayla. First off, you don't look like a one night stand type of girl. You're more like the forever type of girl who finds a man, gets married and fills the house with babies. And a man would have to be crazy to leave a woman like you just because you got pregnant. I know I wouldn't." They both blushed, she from the meaning behind what he said and he from pure embarassment. Blaise cleared his throat before continuing. "So if you want, we don't have to look for this mystery man. Besides it's not like we could just go around posting up fliers saying 'Lost: Father to my unborn child. Age, height, weight, hair color, eye color and name all unknown. Please call if you have any information.'"
Mikayla giggled. "True. So what's going to happen now?"
"Well we will just continue with our regular plan to find out about your past and to help you get your memories back. And if the mystery man comes along so be it, if not then who cares."
"But what happens if he never finds me and the baby is born? Where am I going to live?"
"With me of course," he automatically responded. "That is if you wish to stay."
Her green eyes gazed into his as she whispered, "I'd like that," and then snuggled back against his chest. "But wouldn't your girlfriend get jealous?"
He chuckled. "Haven't you noticed by now in the last month that you have been living with me that I don't have a girlfriend?"
"Well you never know what might happen between now and when the baby arrives."
"Yes but I don't forsee another female coming into my life and fighting for my attention with you." 'Especially not when you are the one I want but I have to try my best to not get too close and attached just in case there is some guy out there looking for you. I know that I wouldn't stop looking until I found you.' Blaise grinned. "So how far along are you?"
Mikayla placed a tentative hand over her belly. "Dr.Phillips said that I am four months along."
"Wow, so you're already almost halfway there," he stated.
"I know. You'd think I would remember the decision to have a baby and the act of trying to make one. I mean having a baby is a life altering decision."
Blaise nuzzled his nose into her hair and inhaled Mikayla's scent as he said, "I'd make sure you didn't forget."
"I said that I would make sure you wouldn't forget the act of making a baby. It would be so good, that even if you forgot everything, like you already have, you would remember the time we made a baby and all the times we tried before that as well."
Mikayla snickered. "That good huh?"
"So I've been told in the past," he responded with a cheeky grin.
"Well I guess I'll just have to take your word for it since I'm already pregnant and can't possibly conceive another baby right now." She smirked at him.
"Alas the demonstration of my baby making skills will have to be put on hold until further notice," he joked.
She placed the back of her hand upon her forehead and sighed dramatically. "Whatever shall I do?" She gave a throaty laugh that turned into a shriek as he began to tickle her.
Mikayla squirmed and twisted out of Blaise's arms as she tried to crawl away but he was to agile for her and quickly had her on her back and was tickling her mercilessly. Neither would be able to tell you the exact moment in time when his tickling touches became tender caresses along her sides or what they were thinking when their lips brushed against each others.
As their mouths moved over each others in sync, Blaise lowered his body so that he was lying next to Mikayla but still half covering her. He nibbled and nipped at her bottom lip before he sucked it in between his teeth causing her to gasp and sigh. He slipped his tongue into her mouth and tousled it with hers.
While his lips and tongue were wrestling with hers, Blaise's hands were roaming across Mikayla's body. He had one hand tangled in the hair at the back of her head so he could tilt her head in the direction best suited for his oral assault. His other hand was flitting all over her body. From quick brushes along her cheek and neck to lightly trailing down her chest and waist, gently squeezing and massaging in various places. The raven haired man tore his lips from the woman's and latched them on to her neck and there he applied the same technique to wreak havoc on the sensitive skin.
Mikayla ran her fingers through the short silky strands of Blaise's hair as her body writhed against his. "Blaise," she moaned. For whatever reason, hearing his name said like that, snapped him out of his passion induced fog and he pulled away and watched as her eyelids slowly lifted to reveal her green as grass irises. "Blaise?" she said again but in a more curious tone.
"And what is it this time?" she asked, frustrated at being denied again.
"We can't because there might be some poor bloke out there looking for his pregnant whatever you are to him and he would most likely be heartbroken and royally pissed if he were to find out. I know I would be."
Mikayla sighed and smiled. "Always such the gentleman."
"Only with you."
"Well thank you."
"For trying to maintain my virtue and for being a good friend to lighten my mood and make me feel better earlier."
"Your welcome," he said as he sat up.
"But I can see what you mean. Judging by that little display and last night, I think that if you were the father of my child that I wouldn't be able to forget it. Even if I did forget everything else."
He smirked. "I told you so."
Mikayla sat up and poked her finger into his chest. "And if in the end, it turns out that there is no mystery man for me, then this," she said seductively while moving her finger back and forth between the two of them, "is far from over."
"Deal," he managed to say before receiving a quick a passionate kiss from Mikayla, who broke it off to saunter out of the room and headed for her bedroom to try and get a good night's sleep after Blaise had gotten her all riled up.
