a/n: Sorry that this chapter took awhile, we have both been busy with our two other stories: The Music In Me and What You've Never Known. These stories are very important to us and since we are working on them seperately they will get done faster, but let me assure you this story will not be neglected. The first years stared.
"This way please.", Professor McGonagall sadi sternly to the frightened looking crowd.
Apparently she didn't come out of nowhere, she came out of a door that was doing a very good job of blending in with the cave walls.
Professor McGonagall led them into an empty classroom. They all looked around nervously.
Suddenly every single one of then new students shuddered. The room had grown cold and clammy.
Lily looked up and gasped, "Ooh look GHOSTS!!".
Everyone else looked up too.
"Good to see you, welcome to Hogwarts! I'm Sir Nicholas de-Mimsy Porpington.", the Ghost said politley.
"I've heard of you, your Nearly Headless Nick!", Rose exclaimed.
"I prefer Sir Nicholas de-Mimsy Porpington if you don't mind.", the ghost named Sir Nicholas sighed rather annoyed he seemed to have said that quite a few times before, "I am the Gryffindor Ghost."
"Oh, yes of course, and that's the Grey Lady, ghost of Ravenclaw, that's the Fat Friar, ghost of Huffelpuff, that's the Bloody Baron, ghost of Slytherin. Oh and there's the pesky poltergiest Peeves.", Rose said smilin up at Sir Nicholas obviously very pleased with herself.
"You certainly are well informed.", Sir Nicholas seemed impressed, "What did you say your name was?".
"Rose Weasley."
"Ahh, yes another Weasley. Well, welcome to Hogwarts and I look forward to seeing you in Gryffindor.", and with that that he floated off.
This did not please Rose she didn't need anyone else expecting her in Gryffindor or putting anymore pressure on her.
Just then McGonagall walked in, "Follow me please."
The first years followed McGonagall into the Great Hall nervously.
They stared up at the cieling anxiously trying to escape from prying eyes. This distraction definitley worked. They were now staring up at the night sky.
There was a collective, "wow!"
"It's not really the sky it's just bewitched to look that way. I read about it in Hogwarts: A History.", Rose said knowledgably to Scorpius.
The first years reached the front of the Great Hall and stood facing Professor McGonagall who was carrying a stool and an old, faded, patched and beaten looking hat.
Professor McGonagall then proceeded to open a scroll and she beagn cllaing names.
"Ames, Julie.", a calm collected girl with long silky black braid sat on the stool. McGonagall then placed the hat on her head and the whole Great Hall went silent.
Then a flap in the hat opened in a sort of mouth and it yelled, "Ravenclaw!", the Ravenclaw table erupted into cheers and clapping, Julie gracefully went to take a spot at the table.
"Anthens, Katie.", a smiling mousy brown haired girl with gleeming blue eyes sat on the stool.
This time the hat pondered for a bit, but then exclaimed, "Gryffindor!". It was the Gryffindor table's turn to explode in claps and cheers.
There were some more students to go, there were a lot of B's. Amy Bates was placed in Ravenclaw, both Lavender and Lilac Bean were placed in Hufflepuff, Angel Bell was placed in Gryffindor, Ryan Bin in Ravenclaw, James Berg was put in Hufflepuff and Elliot Clemen in Ravenclaw when finally the first Slytherin was placed: Malcom Cowen. Scorpius was placed there with him not too long after, making his new friends worry about his true colours.
The next Gryffindor to be placed was Ryan Elkins, then Jacob Oculus. After a few P's it was finally Lily's turn.
The Great Hall was hushed and Lily could here the voice of the hat perfectly, "Hmm... tough, I see you desire a lot. I can't quite decifer what House you would prefer to be put in, but I do know the perfect house for you..." and with that the hat yelled, "Gryffindor!"
Lily was shocked she walked over proudly knowing in her heart this was truley where she had wanted to be placed.
Albus was next he waited nervously. Finall the hat called out his desire, "Gryffindor!".
Rose was so nervous now that Albus and Lily had both been placed in Gryffindor. She was only vaguely aware of two more people being placed in Gryffindor, Star Silver and Chris tims, little did she know one would become her best friend and the other her boyfriend in time.
Finally it became Rose's turn. Rose was so nervous she was shaking, she did not expect what came next.
The hat barely touched her head when it yelled, "GRYFFINDOR!". Rose had never been so happy in her life.
One more boy was placed in Gryffindor, Steven Whistle.
Then everyone dug in. After the feast Professor Clairol ,the headmaster, dismissed them for the night and the new Gryffindor's were so tired, they barely took notice of their new home.

a/n: if you are a true Harry Potter fan I'm sure you caught the many reapeats from the books and the movies and I hope you enjoyed our twist on everything. More to come. Also you met some VERY key characters in this chapter so take mental note (especially of the one's in Gryffindor).
