Chapter 7 : Trying To Get Along
| ||Rating: Mature||Chapter Reviews: 10|
Background: Font color:
**I'm SSSOOO sorry I haven't updated in a couple weeks. I had some health issues the past two weeks, so I was in and out of the hospital, so that was fun. But because I was in and out of the hospital, I didn't have anytime to write or the energy to write either. But now I'm better, hopefully. My job is going to be horrible for the next month. Because of corporate America and the parents that have to get everything their kids desire, I have to work 30 hour weeks again. But you should still get your story every week. By the way I'll be posting the other two chapters through out today, so check back later on.
“We are so glad you could join us,” a voice said from behind her.
“Where am I?” she shouted.
It was pitch black.
“It does not matter. You know what I want,” the voice hissed.
“I don’t have anything. I just want to go home,” she sobbed.
“This is your home. Now give me what I want.”
“I don’t know what you want! Let me go!” she yelled.
“Crucio!” the voice boomed.
The girl shrieked and screamed. The sound was so haunting and painful. The sound was unforgettable.
“Shay wake up. Shay wake up!” Sirius said trying to stop his screaming girlfriend.
Shay’s eyes opened and she sucked in a big breath.
“I can’t breathe! I can’t breathe!” Shay yelled and started shaking.
“Yes you can. Take deep breaths. Come on Shay, slow down,” Sirius said trying to calm her down.
She took three deep breaths and started to calm down.
“What happened?” Shay asked, still catching her breath.
“You were screaming, telling someone to stop. Did you have one of those dreams again?” Sirius asked with concern.
“I don’t know. I can’t remember much of it,” Shay said and wiped the sweat off her forehead.
Then they heard Cillian start to cry.
“Shoot, I woke him up. I’ll get him,” Shay said and got up.
“No, why don’t you go get a drink of water and I’ll put him back down,” Sirius said and kissed her forehead.
“Are you sure you’re alright?” Sirius asked before he left the room.
“Yea, I’m fine,” Shay said and gave him a reassuring smile.
Shay walked into the kitchen and felt sick to her stomach. Who was the person in her dream? When was this going to happen? She knew it was not a dream. Dreams are not that real. She was scared that the person in that room was her. That she might be the one that is going to be tortured in that room. It made her worry so much that she started to feel lightheaded and made her body ache.
“How are you feeling?” Sirius asked from behind Shay.
Shay jumped and dropped her glass of water. It shattered on the ground.
“Sirius, you scared me,” Shay said and absentmindedly cleaned up the glass with wandless magic.
“Your meetings with Marlene seem to be working,” Sirius said and sat on a kitchen chair.
“I guess they are,” Shay said and was cursing herself for doing wandless magic in front of Sirius.
“Was that dream you had tonight a vision?”
“I don’t know Sirius. I can’t even remember it,” Shay lied.
“You can’t remember it?” Sirius asked and raised an eyebrow.
“Yea, I can’t remember it,” Shay said, getting irritated.
“Ok,” Sirius said and Shay gave him an odd look.
“You’re not going to argue with me?” she asked skeptically.
“Nope,” Sirius said with a smile.
“You’re just trying to get out of the dog house, aren’t you?” Shay asked.
“You’re well on your way. Let’s go back to bed,” Shay said and started to walk away.
“Hey,” Sirius called and Shay turned around.
“You are adorable!” Shay said while dressing Cillian in his Halloween costume.
For his first Halloween, Cillian was going to be Dumbledore.
“You are going to have the best costume at that party,” Shay said and put the finishing touches on the costume.
It was weird seeing her baby with a beard.
“Shay are you sure you don’t want to come?” Sirius asked and walked into the room.
Shay saw his costume and started to laugh immediately.
“Professor McGongall, I didn’t know you were coming over,” Shay said.
“So I look good?” Sirius asked and checked his reflection in the mirror.
“You scare me sometimes,” Shay said and handed Cillian to Sirius.
“Are you sure you don’t want to come?” Sirius asked.
“Yea I need some time for myself and I’m not really in a social mood,” Shay said.
“Is there something you want to talk about?” Sirius asked.
“No, now go have fun.”
Shay was glad she had the whole night to herself. She hadn’t had I night to herself since Cillian was born. Sometimes she missed her old life. She sometimes missed the times that she didn’t have a care in the world. But she also didn’t know what she would do without Cillian now. Shay knew that Damien would have loved Cillian. In two days would be a year since Damien died. If it hadn’t been for Cillian and Sirius, the first anniversary of Damien’s death would have been a lot harder to deal with. Since Sirius’s auror training stopped, he and Shay spent a lot more time together. They had their chance to reconnect again and they were taking advantage of it.
Shay felt bad for Sirius. He had been working really hard and that got taken away from him when he got auror training. Shay had been noticing that Sirius seemed to be fading a little. That he wasn’t the same person he used to be. Shay wasn’t sure if Sirius was sad or upset, or if this was just the new him. Parenthood changed her, maybe this was his change. Shay always had the thought in the back of her mind that her and Sirius weren’t meant to be together, and they were just going to stick it out for Cillian. It scared her because she didn’t want to be unhappy for the rest of her life. But then she remembers how good Sirius is to her. He’s always concerned about how she’s feeling and she knows he cares about her. But does he love her? That’s what she wasn’t sure of anymore.
Shay suddenly heard the cry of her baby and rushed into the living room. She saw Sirius standing there with Cillian screaming.
“Sirius, what happened?” Shay asked while Sirius handed her the baby.
“Just take Cillian, I have to go,” Sirius said in the serious tone Shay didn’t like to hear.
“Sirius, tell me what’s wrong,” Shay ordered.
“The Potters are dead,” Sirius said and dissapparated.
