Chapter 5: The Outside

We finished dinner that night with much celebrating. We had a cake, which mum had made, that looked like a quaffle. Harry had not said a word all night. Of course, neither had I, but like I said we don’t talk around the other.

Fred and George set off some fireworks in the house (mum yelled at them of course). Everyone laughed as mum went down their throats for setting off fire works, especially since I was underage (What does that have to do with the price of bubble gum and China?)

As the night got later, people started to disperse into the rest of the house. I took care of all the dining ware and tried to help mum, which she refused by saying, “No, Ginny! Fred, George, and Ron are going to do it (Ron started to whine but stopped when he caught sight of mum’s eyes).

I decided not to fight with her and walked into the sitting area. Everyone was busy doing something. Hermione was reading, Dad was working on work, Bill and Charlie were playing wizards chest, and Harry and Fleur were watching. I went to the rack with our coats and who knows what else.

I grabbed my cloak (I don’t really like coats. They take longer to put on.) And put it on. I opened the door and walked outside with the cold, refreshing air and night sky. I walked out to the pond (which was a little ways away). I sat down looking at the pond and the mirror of the moon and stars on it.

How can everything in life be so hard and painful, but yet the beauty and peacefulness of the night be so…so…so refreshing to the soul? I could have had the worst things in life going on, but still be at peace.

I looked at the lake as if I were in a trance only to be broken by the one who caused it. The night is a song in itself. A song…A song that is inside of me waiting to be released.

I was brought out of my trance by someone clearing their throat behind me. They waited a moment then deciding I wasn’t going to turn around said, “Do you mind if I join you?”

As soon as I heard the voice, I knew who it was. Harry! I lifted my eyes to the sky and said, “Yeah. Sure. It isn’t like you don’t live here either.”

He sat down and said, “I know, but I didn’t know if you wanted my company.”

I never let my eyes waver from the sky full of stars. I just sat there kind of ignoring him, but still being attentive and fully listening. He waited for an answer, but decided that I wasn’t going to answer and tried a new approach, “So…Congratulations on becoming an international quidditch player.”

Still I gave no answer. He laid down on the ground and let out a sigh. He looked up at the stars and said, “Ginny! Please…Please! Would you at least try to get along with me instead of ignoring me?’

I let my eyes fall from the sky for the first time and on to the grass around me. I let out a sigh and said, “Thank you!”

He said, “You will be great you were one of the top players we ever had. You are extremely lucky to get this chance.”

For the first time, I looked at him and said, “Why?”

Harry let out a sigh and sat up. He shook his head a little and said, “All I have ever wanted to do was do what my dad would have wanted to do. Play quidditch for a living.”

I meet his gaze and said, “You always did try to make your parents proud even though they weren’t physically there, but you know they would be proud just because you are alive and well.”

He wouldn’t let his or my eyes waver from the other and said, “Yeah, but this would have made him the proudest father alive. Plus I would be doing something I always loved and for the first time in a while, I wouldn’t have to worry about anything happening and enjoy myself.”

I looked into his eyes, I saw hurt and sorrow within him. I saw the water build up in his eyes starting to form a tear, but he refuse to let it drop. He refuse to give into the emotion that had always been there, but hide within him. He refused to cry.

I put my hand up to his cheek touching it gently. I looked into those eyes, that were starting to glaze over, and said, “Harry, it is only natural to want to cry. It is alright to cry.”

He finally let go at these words. The tears fell down his face, and they looked as if they were running away from the creature that had kept them locked in their cell forever. It reminded me of him and Voldemort.

Voldemort had kept Harry in a cell, which directed his life. Harry had been stuck in his past, but his future was chosen for him. Then Voldemort was killed, and Harry ran away from the person who had caused everything that happened to happen.

I let my hand fall down to his, and I gave it a reassuring squeeze. I pulled him into a hug, which caused my heart to skip about 20 beats, but I ignored it. I held him and whispered in his ear, “It is alright. Everything is over. Everything will be fine forever more.”

I hope!

He pulled away and said, “Thanks, Gin.”

He wiped the tears from his face and tried to act like nothing had happen. I decided to follow his wish and said, “So that is why you aren’t going to be an aurora?”

He nodded and said, “I faced dark wizards all my life. I don’t want anything else to do with it.”

I nodded and laid down on the grass. I saw he was looking at the moon and said, “Lupin would have been proud Harry and so would have Sirius.”

Harry looked at me and said, “I know, but…but I really do miss them.”

I looked in his eyes and said, “I know we all do, but think of it as for the first time in 17 years the mauders are back together again.”

He smiled and said, “Ah… I can see it now. The 3 of them causing unbelievable mischief, and my mum standing there rolling her eyes and laughing at their sad attempts at the old day.”

We both laughed knowing that what he said was probably the truth. He laid down beside me and whispered, “Yep the mauders reunion.”

We both were looking at the stars now. I looked at him then back and said, “The stars are beautiful tonight.”

I saw him look at me out of the corner of my eye, and Harry said, “Yeah, they really are. They really are!”

I looked at him and laughed inwardly as he tried to cover up what he had just done. I let it go and said, “Well, I think I am going to head to bed because I am tired.”

He got up and said, “We both probably should.”

He offered me his hand for help up which I took gladly, and we walked up to the house together. When we walked inside, everyone except Fred and George, who were probably up to something, gave us a wondering look which we ignore respectfully.

I returned my cloak to its respectful place, and we walked upstairs in complete silence until we separated at my room from which we only said, good night to each other…

I walked into the room and found Hermione on her bed reading a book. I rolled my eyes at her and said, “Do you ever stop reading?”

I walked over to my dresser and started to brush my hair before she answered. She didn’t even take her eyes off her book and said, “No, but you obviously got over not talking to Harry.”

I turned around and looked at her with surprise. I tried to say something, but the only word to exit my mouth was, “How…How…How…How.”

She put down her book and said, “Fred and George saw Harry leave and knew you had gone outside, so I came up here and managed to intercept their message so they couldn’t here it, but I could.”

I looked at her clearly shocked that they tried to do it. I knew they were up to something, and duh they would do it!

She got up and shook me a little. She said, “At least, I did manage to that, or the two of you would have never gotten back together.”

I shook my head and got out of my little dazed stage, and I said, “Yeah. Thanks, Hermione. At least, it was my best friend and not my brothers.”

She nodded and said, “Come on let’s go to bed.”

We got ready and shut the lights off. Within minutes, I was fast a sleep…

A/N: Hey, what is up? chapter 5! 1542 words for this chapter (this doesn’t include the author’s note). Yes! The chapters are becoming longer, and I think better. What is your opinion? If not how can I improve? If so how can I improve? Answer these questions please. I need to know. I can’t know if you don’t tell me so please review. I lose sleep over these chapters (just because I am not inspired in the day, and have other stuff to do). So please review. So yep chapter 5 is done and I am so happy! I guess me missing the country inspired this chapter. It was my main inspiration, but now city life… it is alright. Who ever said, “You can take the girl out of the country, but you can’t take the country out of the girl,” knew what they were talking about. Well I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter, and please review!
