Author's Notes: This is the third in what I am now calling the "Daring" series. I plan on five or six parts, I guess...so enjoy, and you'll be really lost if you haven't read Dare You to Move and Only Hope....thanks to everyone who requested a sequel to Dare You to Move.
A few weeks had passed since that fateful Halloween Ball, and there had been a few drastic changes at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. For one, the Head Boy and Girl no longer at their meals at separate tables in the Great Hall. For two, members of Gryffindor and Slytherin houses could be seen chatting merrily, studying harmoniously and smiling warmly with one another. Third, Ron Weasley, the co-captain of the Gryffindor Quidditch team, was seem *glowing.*
A dare was determined to be responsible for the first change in the Hogwarts students. Dumbledore, the Head Boy and Girl, and a few good songs were determined to be the cause of the second. And Millicent Bulstrode was the cause of the third.
"I don't get it you guys. Millicent Bulstrode." Ron commented one evening over dinner, the happiness on his features and in his voice evident to even the most causal of observers.
"Draco Malfoy," Hermione answered back, her happiness a mirror of her best friend's.
Meanwhile, Millicent and Draco were having a similar conversation at the Slytherin table.
"Ron. Weasley." She said softly, shaking her head with a smile on her lips.
"Hermione Granger....we're pathetic, you know that, right?" Draco asked the girl he'd long considered a good friend.
"Course we're pathetic...but we're happy." She replied.
"Yeah...we're happy," Draco trailed off, realizing that for the first time in his life, he'd been happy for an extended period of time. He'd been happy, and content...all because of the girl he'd once considered nothing more than dirty.
‘Holy shit,' was the only thought he could really comprehend once the realization had struck him. ‘I love her.'
