Thanks to tinkerbellfairy13 for my first review! Warning, this is going to be long, but the entire thing erased, so I have to start over. Rawr. (Hehe)
-- "Hermione!" Ron cried, running after her into the Common Room.
"Ron, just.. Just let me be!" Hermione whined, looking at him helplessly, stopping in the middle of the common room. She was a few feet away from the fire, and as she looked at it, a thought hit her. He probably wants to tell me he's going to the dance with Fleur or something.. She groaned and hurried over to a chair in front of the fire.
"Are you okay?!" Ron asked, rushing over.
"No. Now leave me alone!" Hermione muttered crossly.
"But.. I.. Hermione, tha'ts not fair. I have to tell you something." Ron said quickly.
"What is it, Ronald?" Hermione asked quietly. She had a sudden erge to hit him.
"I want to know who you're going with to the dance?" Ron asked, getting onto his knees next to her chair so his head was level with her.
"Why? It's not like you're not going with Fleur already." Hermione muttered.
"Uh, I'm not." Ron said, raising an eyebrow. "I hardly talked to her."
"Why?" Hermione asked, suddenly interested.
As Ron went off in detail about how she'd said she hated him and he talked to Harry then followed, Harry was roaming the corridors.
"Morning, Harry." Parvati said brightly.
"Morning." Harry replied, slightly disgruntled because he hadn't found what he was looking for yet.
"Need any help with anything?" Parvati asked.
"Not really, sorry." Harry said, glancing at her. She seemed a little disappointed but shrugged and walked off.
"Harry!" Ginny skidding around a corner, running into him. "Sorry."
"That's alright, so what's going on?" Harry asked, seeing everybody staring after her. They'd cleared a path for her to get through.
"I'm trying to get away from Dean. I just broke up with him and he's so mad." Ginny said, rubbing her eyes.
"Oh, you broke up?" Harry tried not to sound too excited.
"I just said that, Harry." Ginny laughed. "Where can I hide?"
Harry motioned for her to follow and headed to the Common Room, then over to a table facing away from the door, with a large wall in front.
"Whoah. I never saw this before!" Ginny said, raised eyebrows.
"Ron made it this morning. Hermione wouldn't talk if people were watching." Harry rolled his eyes.
"Oh, I see." Ginny laughed, sitting down facing the window away from the door.
"So, would this be a bad time to ask you if you're going to the dance with anybody?" Harry asked, laughing.
"No, it's alright if you ask." Ginny teased. "I'm not going with anybody yet."
"Well.. in that case.. you don't think you would.. you know.. want to go with me?" Harry looked down, then looked at her out of the corner of his eyes.
"Really, Harry?!" Ginny asked, suddenly excited.
"Yeah, really." Harry laughed.
"Oh, yay!" Ginny laughed, too. She jumped up and hugged him. "I have to go find Hermione!"
"I think I just did." Harry said, a confused, yet rather happy expression on his face. Ginny turned around, still hugging him to find Hermione and Ron talking quietly, Hermione laughing repeatedly.
"Yes, that was Dean." Hermione laughed.
"We got him bad." Ron grinned.
"Of course we did, Ron!" Hermione hit him on the arm. "It was your idea. It was brilliant!"
"Well, you know, sometimes, I just.. it just comes to me." Ron laughed. Hermione grinned and sat down on one of the larger couches in the Common Room. Ron sat down next to her. They didn't look away from each others faces. Ginny and Harry were watching. Harry half expected Hermione to kiss him right there, there were sitting so close together.
"You think they're going to the ball together?"Ginny whispered.
"I wouldn't be surprised. I wonder what's gotten them so excited, though." Harry replied thoughtfully.
"I don't know, but now's not the time to find out." Ginny laughed.
"So, has anybody asked you to the ball if Fleur didn't?" Hermione asked.
"Nope." Ron shrugged off the question. He figured she meant it as an insult, but she'd meant it seriously.
"Oh. Well, me either." Hermione replied, looking down at the couch. Her fingers ran over the fabric in little circles as she thought nervously about what to say next.
"You think anybody will ask you?" Ron asked before she could say anything. She was so happy she didn't have to figure out what to say if he didn't reply.
"I don't know. Nobody really seems to like me, but I'm probably just blind to it... what with all my studying, you know." Hermione laughed.
I know this is really long, but I wanted to get some stuff done, so there you go!
