"Who's the new girl? Have you seen her Draco? she's fuckin got purple hair!"
Draco was too caught up in his issue of 'Quiditch Fan Monthly' to listen to Pansy ranting.
At that moment the compartment door slid open to reveal a tall dark skinned boy. He grinned at Pansy and then took a seat next to Draco.
"Hey Blaise," Draco murmured.
"Hey, have you heard about that new girl? Her name's Aries. She's a total babe," Blaise gushed.
Pansy looked murderous.
"Yes, Pansy keeps on talking about her...
I mean, what's the big deal? It's not like she's royalty or something." Draco spoke in an exasperated tone.
If possible, Pansy Parkinson looked even more murderous. It was no secret that she had always had a thing for Draco.
Blaise grinned mischieviously and said, "she's Aries Zurkovitch."
This caught Draco's attention.
"Of the Zurkovitch's?"
The Zurkovitch's were a well known pureblood wizarding family from Russia.
"Hey, I might just have to get to know her a little better," Malfoy said with his trademark Malfoy smirk.
Pansy shot the slytherin boys icy glares before exiting the compartment.
"We're almost at hogwarts, you'd better go change Malfoy," said Blaise caringly.
"Yeah, thanks. Blaise, you know where that new girl is?" Draco asked.
"Uhh, you're not going to like this, but I think she's sitting with Wonder Boy and his crooney's."
Harry entered the compartment and he saw his two bestfriends; Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. He also noticed another girl with them.
This girl was very tall and thin. Her skin was as pale as Malfoy's, but her piercing blue eyes were warm and welcoming. Her purple hair was thin but shiny, wait...purple? She was wearing a tight black tank top with a dark skinny jeans and faded gray converses.
Only when Harry cleared his throat loudly did the three teenagers notice his presence.
Hermione's face lit up and she ran over to give Harry a big hug.
Ron, who had grown a good 5 inches, gave Harry a "manly hug."
Harry's hair, as always, was sticking out at all angles. His piercing green eyes looked dazzling.
Hermione spoke, "Harry, this is Aries Zurkovitch. Aries, this is Harry Potter."
"Nice to meet you," Harry said politely.
Only then did Harry notice how tired she looked. She had heavy bags under her eyes and her plump lips looked sort of swollen. She was definately rocking 'the sexy I havent slept in 3 days look'.
"Likewise, Hermione and Ron were just telling me about you! You play seeker I hear, so do I." she replied.
She had a cute russian accent and Harry loved it.
Harry was about to speak when the door to the compartment slid open once again, to reveal his arch enemy, Draco Malfoy.
Draco was tall and muscular like Harry, but he had cold gray eyes instead of Harry's piercing emerald ones.
"Was somebody talking about quiditch? I play seeker!" Draco announced.
"What in Merlin's name do you want Malfoy?" Ron spat.
Draco grinned mischieviously,
"I just wanted to be polite and introduce myself to the new girl i've been hearing so much about." He looked Aries up and down.
"I'm Draco Malfoy, pleased to meet you."
He couldn't help but emphasize his last name...
Blaise was right he thought, Aries was very attractive. She seemed dangerous and unpredictable, just the way he liked his women.
Harry rolled his eyes.
"Aries Zurkovitch, pleased to meet you too," Aries replied politely. She couldn't help but notice what quidditch had done for Harry and Draco's bodies'.
"So what brings you to Hogwarts?" Draco asked to break the silence,
"Well, I kind of got expelled from my school in Russia..." the tall girl replied.
Hermione looked taken aback.
Before anyone had the chance to ask why, Aries spoke:
"Let's just say, i know how to party."
Draco gave Aries a wink and left the compartment.
Hermione had sensed something about Aries, but she hadn't expected this. Expelled?
Harry and Ron had done some pretty foolish things during their schooling at Hogwarts, but they had never gotten expelled...
Aries noticed how shocked Hermione looked and couldn't help but smile to herself. This is going to be a fun year she thought.
FAST FORWARD TO THE OPENING FEAST IN THE GRAND HALL:
Aries wasn't quite sure what to do with herself. Her father had explained the concept of the 4 school houses to her the previous night, but she hadn't expected it to be like this...
who to sit with? the Gryffindors? The Ravenclaws? The Hufflepuffs? Or the Slytherins?
The Gryffindors and the Slytherins definately had the cutest boys, but the girls didn't look too friendly. They all glared at her as if she were worse than scum.
Before she could decide, Professor Mcgonnagall took her by the arm and pulled her out of the great hall and into a corridor with all of the first years waiting to be sorted. Aries felt kind of foolish amongst a bunch of children many years younger than her, but tried not to make this obvious.
She didn't like being alone in a crowded room, so she introduced herself to a friendly looking red-head standing nearby.
"Hi, I'm Aries Zurkovitch."
"umm, hi...I'm Penelope. You're rather tall. You're a first year too?" The little girl replied rather apprehensively.
Aries laughed, "no no, ofcourse not! im a seventh year. I transferred here from my school in Russia..."
Before she could finish her sentence, Professor Mcgonnagall began to speak.
"Welcome to Hogwarts! I'm sure you will be very comfortable here.
If you are not all ready aware, you are about to be sorted into one of our four houses. Brave Gryffindor, Intelligent Ravenclaw, Loyal Hufflepuff, or Daring Slytherin. Please proceed into the great hall and wait for your name to be called..."
"how are we sorted into our houses?" a daring first year called out.
Professor Mcgonnagall looked rather annoyed and chose to answer the question very vaguely.
"the sorting hat, no more questions. Follow me!"
As the group of eager first years, and Aries, walked into the great hall, the whispers grew louder.
She definately stood out. Nobody else in the room had purple hair or makeup like hers, and she was the only one not wearing school robes. It had said in her letter to wear black robes on the first day, but she simply hadn't felt like it that morning. She felt hundreds of eyes glaring at her, good thing Aries Zurkovitch loved attention.
Professor Mcgonnagall walked to the front of the room place a delicate looking witch's hat onto a wooden stool. She then took out a long scroll of parchment and read the first name off the list.
A timid little girl marched up to professor mcgonnagall and took a seat on the stool.
Mcgonnagall placed the hat on top of the little girl's head,
"HUFFLEPUFF," the hat called out almost immediately.
The Hufflepuff table roared with applause and cheers and Mimi took a seat.
'simple enough' thought Aries.
And soon enough, she was the only one left standing in the middle of the great hall.
Aries had to develope patience early on, since her last name began with a 'Z'.
"SLUT!" somebody from the slytherin table called out.
Professor Mcgonnagall looked murderous, but continuted.
"Aries is a seventh year, we don't normally have newcomers in their seventh years' . Aries, however, is an exception. She has transferred here from her school in Russia on, special circumstances..."
This caused a roar of excited whispers. Rumours were spreading like wild fire, but Aries didn't give a rat's ass. Let them keep talking, she was becoming famous, and it was only their first day after all.
She took a seat on the stool and waited.
"SLYTHERIN!!!!!" the sorting hat roared.
A few students gasped, some went pale, not even all of the Slytherins cheered for her.
Aries held her head high and bravely marched over to the Slytherin table.
Draco leant over and whispered in Blaise's ear, "This is going to be a fun year."
Over on the other side of the great hall, Harry felt his heart drop.
