Disclaimer: I own nothing but Nora and the plot. I don't own Sirius or Hogsmeade or Your Guardian Angel by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, whom I reccomend because they are fantastic. Listen to this particular song, it's so pretty.

When I see your smile
Tears roll down my face
I can't replace

And now that I'm strong I have figured out
How this world turns cold and it breaks through my soul
And I know Ill find deep inside me, I can be the one

I will never let you fall
I'll stand up with you forever
I’ll be there for you through it all
Even if saving you sends me to heaven

Its ok, Its ok, Its ok

Seasons are changing and waves are crashing
And stars are falling all for us
Days grow longer and nights grow shorter
I can show you I'll be the one

I will never let you fall
I'll stand up with you forever
I'll be there for you through it all
Even if saving you sends me to heaven

Cause you're my
You're my
My true love
My whole heart
Please don't throw that away

Cause I'm here, for you
Please don't walk away and
Please tell me you'll stay, stay...

Use me as you will
Pull my strings just for a thrill
And I know I’ll be okay
Though my skies are turning gray

I will never let you fall
I'll stand up with you forever
I'll be there for you through it all
Even if saving you sends me to heaven

I will never let you fall
I'll stand up with you forever
I'll be there for you through it all
Even if saving you sends me to heaven

Chapter One - Never Leave

Weeks had gone by, and the school was still buzzing about the latest scandal.

Sirius Black was dating Nora Bennet.

It had been about a week since they called it ‘official’.

If only they would remember her name.

But no one ever did. She was just ‘that blind girl’.

So, Sirius took it upon himself to correct them.

“Her name is Nora. If you choose to gossip about us, I suggest that you at least get her name straight.” Sirius had interjected, almost frightening a pair of 6th years after hearing them discuss his new relationship with Miss Bennet. They scurried away, continuing to whisper and shooting him looks of accusation.

Sirius shrugged, sighing. From beside him, Nora giggled. “Don’t scare them now.” She advised in her melodic voice.

The sound of her soft tone calmed Sirius right away. It was impossible to stay ill-mannered around her. Not only would she question and therefore scold it, but she was just so easy going and warm, an open invitation to be light and happy.

“The gossip will die down soon,” She said, grasping his hand, causing electric shocks to serge through his arm.

“Not soon enough.” He argued, gripping her hand securely, “I wish Christmas break would hurry up and get here. I want the gossipers to leave.”

The holidays were approaching quickly, but Sirius found them just on the brink of slow. He knew the castle would be close to deserted when the time came and he wanted it bad. He was planning on taking Nora on the date he had promised her at their first meeting. He had failed to find the perfect time and place in the past couple of weeks and was waiting frantically for Christmas to arrive.

What exactly he would be doing on this date was a subject on which he was still totally undecided. Another trip to Hogsmeade was simply out of the question, too unoriginal. Perhaps a trip to the Shrieking Shack, inside it, that is. Perhaps something wonderful and Christmas-like could be waiting, like a glamorously decorated pine tree, sporting brightly wrapped gifts. Plus, a roaring fireplace and a comfy, overstuffed loveseat. Subtle, simple and romantic, Sirius liked it and was sure Nora would enjoy it too.

“Sirius, are we going to be late?” Nora asked, bringing Sirius back to earth.

“Oh! We’d better hurry. I lost track of time.”

Sirius pulled Nora along the hallway to her class, Charms. At the doorway, he pulled her close and kissed her cheek softly, bringing a blush to her face. He smiled at the rush of her blood, and whispered in her ear “I’ll be here at the end of class, alright?”

“Mmm. And then dinner?” She wondered, grinning from the closeness of the two of them.

“Yep! Well, I’ve got to go to Potions. See you then.” He kissed her once more on the cheek and sent her into class. He peeked around the door frame, making sure she had sat down without trouble. She had, so Sirius jogged on to his class, dodging the other stragglers.

H had barely made it, sneaking in while the professor’s back was turned. He snagged the empty seat beside James, taking no notice at the absence of Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew, who he knew were in Herbology. James was pretending to take notes from the text on the board, and whispered, “Nora get to class on time?”

It was definitely a shock to James Potter when Sirius had informed him, Remus and Peter that he intended on making Nora his girlfriend. Not just a Hit it and Quit it type of girlfriend, but a long term relationship one. This had sent James into a fit of Huh’s and What’s, whereas Remus couldn’t have been happier and Peter was just as baffled as ever, showing hardly any interest.

“Yeah, but another second later and she would have had detention.” Sirius said, removing supplies from his bag.

James shook his head disapprovingly, “You two should really stop snogging in the hallway, before you put a mark on her mark free record. Don’t want people to start thinking you’re a bad influence on her.”

Sirius’ jaw dropped, and he whispered fiercely, “What do you mean snogging in the hallway? I haven’t even kissed her yet!”

This seemed to take James by surprise, “Really? Wow, you’re really serious about this one, aren’t you? No pun intended, of course.”

He nodded, ignoring the unintentional pun, “Yeah, James, I really am.”

“Hmm…” James said something unintelligible.

“What?” Sirius questioned, “You think I’m joking?”

“No, I believe you.” James answered quickly.

“Then what?”

“I was just curious as to why you were interested in being with someone for a long time in the first place.” James pressed, putting emphasis on the one word.

“Why?” Sirius repeated.

James nodded.

Sirius sighed. He then ducked his head low as Professor Slughorn walked by their table, “Maybe because I want people to know that I am not just a man whore. I do, in fact, have sensitive side with a desire for something more than a week of meaningless sex with some meaningless girl.”

“So, in a way, you’re using Nora?” James prodded.

“No, of course not. What I feel for her is genuine. Similar to the way you feel for Lily.” Sirius tried to explain logically.

“But I love Lily. Do you love Nora?”

He felt his breath catch in his throat. Love had been a touchy subject with him since Holly had ripped his once aching heart out. So now, he didn’t like throwing something as serious as love out into casual conversation. Even if he was in love with Nora, or falling in love with her, he didn’t want to tell her. Their relationship was still so young and still growing. Of course, though, he loved her. Who didn’t? She was loveable. But to be in love with her was just so… big, though not hard to imagine. Indeed, he could see himself falling in love with Nora, maybe he could see it because he already was.

Who knows?

Despite his internal conflict, Sirius shook his head, “No, I don’t think I do. Not yet.”

He shrugged and turned to his bubbling potion. How it started bubbling was a mystery…

Sirius found Nora waiting for him outside her classroom. She leaned against the wall casually with a pleasant expression. He noticed how passersby gestured to her appearance, namesake her hair, and snickered to their companions. Sirius knew, or at least told himself, that they were only jealous. If he made himself believe they were poking fun at her, he probably would have made an ass of himself in front of a healthy portion of the student body. That, of course, was not desirable, so he tried to avoid it as much as possible. Not to mention, Nora sometimes disapproved of him going out of his way to antagonize those who pestered her.

And still, as out of the ordinary as her hair was, or anything else for that matter, Sirius found nothing wrong with it. Nora had recently changed her hair color since their little trip to Hogsmeade. It was no longer magenta, but black with cerulean blue in some places, including her bangs and several varied streaks throughout her thick waves. Sirius thought she looked beyond gorgeous, as the blue in her hair brought out her ocean-colored eyes.

he stood directly in front of Nora and said, “My dear, Miss Bennet, might I ask you to accompany me to dinner?”

She smiled at the sound of his recognizable voice, “Of course Mr. Black, I would be obliged.”

He linked arms with Nora, and said, “Excellent! I must say, you are looking particularly lovely this evening.”

She blushed scarlet, “Why, thank you. I wish I could say the same for you.”

He smiled and wished the exact same thing. Nora’s eyesight never really created an issue. It was more for personal reasons that Sirius wished she was able to see.

“Shall we?” He asked in a gentlemanly fashion.

“We shall.” She answered and they walked, arm in arm, to the Great Hall.

That’s when he saw her, Holly Hunter, her wonderfully fake face twisted in disgust as she stared in horror at Sirius and Nora. Her honey-brown eyes showed revulsion and jealousy. Her straight blonde hair framed her would-be beautiful face, had it not been masked with layers and layers of makeup.

“So it’s true?” Holly demanded sharply, shifting her weight from one foot to the other. “You’re actually dating this… special needs girl?” she asked, eyeing Nora with distaste.

Sirius felt the blood in his veins boil with rage. Special needs girl? Nevertheless, he kept his voice under control for Nora’s sake, “As a matter fact, yes, I am. For once your uncanny ability to listen to and believe gossip has come in handy.”

“Watch your mouth, Black!” ordered a blonde boy from behind Holly, who Sirius recognized as Otto Palmer, the reason he and Holly weren’t together anymore. Sirius nodded sarcastically in response to Otto’s demand.

Holly strutted towards Nora, placed a hand on her shoulder and drawled silkily, “Oh, sweetie, I hope you weren’t considering staying with this bastard. He’s only with you for one thing,”

Nora tensed, clinging onto his arm tighter, and replied softly, “I don’t believe that.”

Holly smiled viciously, “Neither did anyone else, and they’re just about depressed because he can’t control his testosterone,”

“You cheated on me!” Sirius shouted. “You cheated on me with that loser!” he gestured to the grinning Otto frantically.

Holly scoffed, “I never wanted to be with you in the first place.”

Sirius’ face drained of color, “What do you mean?”

She waved her hand lazily, “Oh, please, it was fake! Otto and I were already together and decided to get back at you for playing Lucy Matthews.”

“Lucy?” he barely remembered her.

“Yeah! After you left her, she was devastated. I hated seeing her in so much pain.” Holly said, harshly.

“So, it was payback?” He asked unbelievably.

“Duh! You deserved it!” She said, exasperated, “Although, I never meant for you to move on so quickly. This poor blind chick has her Sirius Black days numbered.”

Sirius’ teeth grinded and his fists clenched, “I don’t intend to break up with Nora any time soon.”

“Sure,” She said agreed, her voice dripping with sarcasm.

“Holly,” Nora addressed the sneering girl, “I really don’t think it’s that big of a deal. I mean, he suffered enough. I think he still does, a little bit. I’m sure it was unnecessary to bring any of this up when he was just starting to get over you.”

Holly remained tightly smug.

Nora continued, “He’s with me now. If he decides to spontaneously leave me that will be his choice and his loss.”

Holly rolled her eyes, “Whatever, I still say your days with him are numbered.”

“Well, that may be, but I wouldn’t be in the danger of heartache, if you hadn’t cheated on him. So, really, it’s your fault.”

Holly scoffed again, “My fault?”

But Nora ignored her, “But, if he does stay with me, as I hope he does, I should thank you.”

Holly sneered, rolling her eyes again, and strutted away, Otto one step behind her.

Nora’s expression had not changed; pleasant, content. Her spat with Miss Hunter had not changed her attitude.

Sirius was impressed and his heart glowed with pride. Who would break up with Nora? She was perfect!

“Shall we continue?” Sirius asked her, smiling.

She nodded, smiling too, “I don’t like that Holly girl.”

He snorted at her expression and the sentence that came out of her mouth. They didn’t seem to match, “Me neither.”

He guided her to the Hufflepuff table, kissed her cheek (causing her to blush again) and sat her down.

He walked to his house table, his friends greeting him cheerfully.

“You know,” James started, cutting into his steak, “As much as I disapprove of the whole snogging on the hallway thing, you and Nora make a very attractive couple.”

“Prongs, I appreciate the compliment, but Nora and I don’t snog!” Sirius stated firmly.

Remus’ eyebrows furrowed, “That’s a surprise.”

“Mmm, I’m sure it is to everyone.” Sirius said, deciding to leave the Holly ordeal out of his friend’s lives. Why weigh them down with his past personal affairs that didn’t even matter anymore?

As Sirius devoured his dinner ravenously, his thoughts drifted back to his upcoming, though still unplanned, date with Nora. He rather liked that corny Christmas idea. Perhaps he would do that.

Yes, Nora would like that.

He was sure of it.

Time could not have gone by any slower.

Or maybe it could have, but that’s not the point.

The point was: Sirius was extremely exited, for he had finished preparing his night with Nora.

Tonight was the night, to be accurate.

He knew for a fact that Nora had no previous plans, so the surprise was just going to make it all the more delightful.

And, surprisingly, Sirius was nervous.

This was the first real, real date since they’d been ‘together’.

He mentally smacked himself.

Well, yeah. It’s only been two weeks since you asked her out…

Sirius saw the memory vividly in his mind.

He was generously, but voluntarily, walking Nora to her Common Room on Friday night after dinner two weeks ago. The corridor was generally empty, and Sirius felt a chastising feeling at the pit of his stomach.

He could imagine his conscious, lounging bored and drumming its fingers,
Just ask her out already!

“Hmm?” She mumbled a reply.

“You know what I was just thinking about?”

“H-how much I fancy you.” He stuttered

She giggled, “Oh really?”

He laughed nervously, “Really.”

Nora smiled, “Well, I guess you’re in luck, because I fancy you too.”

Sirius sighed in relief that he didn’t make a fool of himself. He continued, “And you know what else I was thinking?”

“No. What else were you thinking?”

“How happy I would be if you were my girlfriend.” He said uncertainly.

“Why Sirius Black, are you asking me out?” Nora asked confidently, though her face was red.

He scoffed, losing all signs of uncertainty, and insisted, “Of course not.”

Nora shrugged, “Well, that’s a shame. I mean, I was going to say yes, but since you’re not asking me out…”

Sirius laughed out loud, “I’ve changed my mind. I’ve decided that I am asking you out.”

Nora smiled, “Oh, well…hmm…”

“What?” Sirius asked puzzled. Where was the ‘yes’ he wanted?

“Maybe I want to change my mind too…” she had him on the edge.

She was having way too much fun with this. Sirius snaked an arm around her waist, and crushed their bodies together. “Will you just say yes, you silly girl?” he asked teasingly in a whisper.

The blood in her face intensified as his body was against hers, “Yes to what?”

“You know what.”

“But how can I answer a question that you didn’t ask me yet?”

He sighed, faking annoyance, and said, “Ok, fine. I’ll do this properly.”

Nora waited.

“Nora Bennet, will you do me the honor of becoming my girlfriend?” Sirius asked graciously.

Nora bit her lip, in mocking deep thought and then said, “I accept.”

He smiled at the happy, humorous memory. Nora definitely knew how to be a tease.

“Sirius, where are we going?” Nora asked impatiently, tugging on his sleeve as he guided her through the tunnel under the Whomping Willow.

“Stop fussing! We’re almost there.” Sirius told her reassuringly.

“Where is ‘there’?” she questioned.

“It’s someplace special, that’s where.” He answered.

She groaned, “You’re so stubborn.”

He grinned proudly, “Yup, I sure am.”

Nora sighed, exasperated, but still mainly content with her situation.

He pulled himself through the hole and hoisted Nora up too, noticing how light she was.

“We’re here.” Sirius stated, admiring his work. A tall pine tree stood by one of the boarded-up windows, sporting red, gold and white ornaments. Hanging decoratively from the ceiling were muggle Christmas lights, providing the only light in the room, except for a bright, roaring fireplace, which Sirius had conjured especially for tonight. A maroon loveseat rested across the room. A single gift lay under the tree. It was small, wrapped in metallic red paper and tied with a gold ribbon. That was Sirius’ gift to Nora. He probably should have waited till Christmas day to give it to her, but he couldn’t. He wanted Nora to have it now.

“I wish I knew where here was…” Nora commented pointedly.

Sirius chuckled, “I’ll describe it for you.” He led her to the sofa and plopped them both down, and began to explain slowly, exaggerating every syllable, “Well, above us are those lights on strings muggles hang on the outside of their house. To the left of us is a lit fireplace. To your right is a magnificent Christmas tree, decorated by yours truly. And finally, under the tree is a Christmas present.”

Nora’s lips were apart in adoration of the scene she couldn’t see. Her blue eyes filled with sadness as she whispered, “I wish I could see it.”

Sirius sighed, sharing her pain, “I wish you could too.” He paused and the added, “I worked hard.”

Nora’s face broke into a smile, “I think it’s silly that you worked yourself for something lovely I can’t even see.”

“I don’t. It creates a very warm, loveable atmosphere. Besides, the outcome is fantastic!”

“I’m sure it is. So… you said there was a present? Is it for me?” she asked, bouncing up and down giddily in her seat.

“Of course! Why would I put a present underneath the tree for myself?” Sirius asked the rhetorical question incredulously.

Nora shrugged, “Can I open it?”

“No, no, no, no, no.” Sirius answered, scooting closer to her on the sofa, “There’s something I want to do first.”

Her nose scrunched cutely in confusion, an expression Sirius found adorable. She asked, “And… what is that?”

Sirius raised his hand hesitantly, which he now realized was shaking. He softly brushed his fingertips along Nora’s cheek. His touch ignited the reddening of her face, and he heard her breathing stop as she understood what he was doing. What he wanted to do.

He knew that she knew he wanted to kiss her.

In fact, he couldn’t recall a time when he had wanted a kiss more.

Nora waited, her expression soft and ready.

He bent his head forward and let himself drink in her appearance. He noticed how she had done nothing to her hair. It rested on her shoulders, a sea of black and blue with a cerulean headband peaking along her crown. His eyes lingered on hers and he wished desperately that she could gaze back at him with equal passion. The flickering firelight illuminated her light skin and he took advantage of her lips, at his mercy.

Sirius crashed his mouth gently upon hers.

For a moment, Nora froze, taken by surprise and he didn’t press her. He moved his lips slowly on hers until she regained her composure and responded strongly, moving her hands upward along his chest, until they clasped behind his neck. His heart beating madly, he tangled his fingers in her dark hair, pulling her closer as his need increased. He was taken aback when he felt Nora’s mouth part, inviting him in, which he eagerly did. He engaged her tongue in an intimate dance with his own, thrusting himself even closer, their bodies pressing together.

Before he lost control, Sirius pulled his lips back, gasping for air.

The kiss had left them both breathless.

“I must say, I wondering if you were ever going to kiss me.” Nora whispered, her lips rosy and plump.

“One mustn’t rush these things, you know.” Sirius pointed out, “But I, personally, thought it was worth waiting for.”

Indeed, Nora kissed very sweetly, and she tasted delightful too.

Not even Holly Hunter herself could not compare to the desire and affection that Nora sparked in Sirius.

The corners of Nora’s mouth pulled into a smile, “I agree,” One corner fell down. “It’s too bad… that you only kissed me once…” she pointed out, shrugging.

Sirius smirked, “I suppose I can kiss you again.”

“You suppose?”

“I mean, it’ll be a huge inconvenience…”

Nora shrugged and decided, “I guess I can wait ‘till tomorrow then,”

“But…” He started, “I suppose I can give in…just this once.”

Nora was trying not to smile, Sirius could tell.

He didn’t try to hide his amusement as he pressed his smirking lips against hers, kissing her again.

Nora drew back her hands and rested a palm on either side of Sirius’ face. She slowly curled and uncurled her fingers, the repeated motion leaving burning sensations tingling on his cheeks.

“Sirius,” she said softly, "Why do you care about me the way you do?”

He was slightly dumbfounded by her question, and somewhat offended, “What do you mean?”

“I mean, ever since I came to Hogwarts, I thought you to be someone who wouldn’t be with anyone for a lengthy amount of time. I thought you were just one of those guys that were only after girls for one reason and when your need was fulfilled, you moved on to the next girl in line. But I don’t know what it is… I feel like… like I mean something to you, like you don’t want to let me go just yet.”

“I’ll admit that I’ve played girls in the past and done some pretty…crazy things. But, you’re right. I don’t want to let you go just yet.”

“But that’s my question. Why? What makes me so much different than the other girls, besides, of course, the obvious?” the desperation in her urging voice pleased Sirius. She was so curious to know why he wanted to be with her more than them.

Sirius thought hard about why Nora was so wonderfully different from the others. He couldn’t find a reason he could put into words, “I don’t know what it is… But I plan on spending a good amount of time finding out.”

“Do you really mean that? When you say that you won’t leave me?” Nora implored quietly.

He sensed a bit of sadness in her tone and it broke his heart. He took her face in his hands and kissed her gently but passionately and whispered, vowed, “Nora, I promise you, unless a colossal, life-altering occasion occurs… I will never leave you.”

A smile graced her pleasant features, and Sirius attached his lips to it, moving them in a rhythmic pattern.

He meant it. He couldn’t believe that those words had escaped his mouth, but he knew that he meant them.

I will never leave you.

The words rang in his head over and over again.

He detached his mouth and grabbed the package lying on the floor, under the bristles of the pine tree. He placed it in Nora’s hands and her face lit up with excitement. Her fingers felt around the ribbon, until she found the bow. She tugged on the loose end and undid the bow, the gold ribbon falling lightly to her lap. She tore at the paper, revealing an ivory box. She aimlessly explored the flat surfaces with her fingertips.

Nora’s nose scrunched, “You got me a cube?”

Sirius snorted, “No. Here, let me see.”

He abducted said cube and opened it with a pop. The cube was actually a jewelry box, complete with a silver bracelet, adorned with little purple stones. He seized her hand and carefully linked it around her wrist.

“A bracelet?” she asked, her other fingers running over smooth stones.

“Yeah. It has amethyst stones on it.” Sirius told her.

“Mmm, my birthstone.” Nora said adoringly.

“See? I remembered your birthday.” Sirius stated proudly, puffing out his chest with pride.

“Oh? When is it?” she asked quizzically.

He was not phased in the least and knew it like his own, and affirmed, “February 10th.”

She raised her eyebrows, “I’m impressed,”

“Me too,”

Sirius bent his head and kissed her off guard, taking her by surprise. He enjoyed how she kissed sweetly and unsure.

I will never leave you.

But he knew that she had nothing to be unsure about because he meant what he said.

He was never going to leave her.

A/N: Aren't they cute together? I love them!

I'll probably write a sequal to this as well. But not anytime soon!
