Screams, shouts and cries of pain filled the air all around Hogwarts.
‘This is It’ Thought Harry ‘This is the day we’ve been fighting for, the day that the world changes for better or for worse’.He gritted his teeth as he walked slowly, almost reluctantly towards the clearing which he knew Voldemort was waiting, waiting for him.
‘What if he’s too strong’ He thought ‘What if I can’t destroy him? Then what happens?
What happens to everyone else, his family, his friends, the whole world?’
He ran through a list in his mind of who he’d miss the most, although he knew once he was dead he couldn’t miss anything but it comforted him in an eerie sort of way to know he wasn’t dead yet,
‘Mum, Dad, Sirius, Summer, Lupin, the Weasleys, Hermione, Ron, Stu, Celestia and Ginny’
He knew he’d miss Ginny most out of anyone else, even if he had left her, almost year earlier to hunt for Horcruxes; he still had feelings for her and hoped she shared them. As he walked he remembered the scene in her Bedroom not even a year before, it had been the night that he, along with Stu and Ron had gone to hunt Horcruxes, they had persuaded the girls not to go out of their own safety but it had only been Harry and Ginny who had been a couple so it was hardest for them.

“Harry, why?” a sobbing Ginny had asked for what could have been the hundredth time that night
“You know why Gin, we have too, for your safety”
“What if I don’t care?”
“What If I do?”
Ginny had stopped crying at his words and wrapped him in a long hug, which he returned, knowing it was likely he wasn’t going to let go, After a long while Ginny whispered into his chest “Promise me you’ll return, and not in a box”
Harry smiled slightly at this and then became serious again “Only if you promise to wait for me”
Ginny looked up into his emerald eyes, she had stopped crying into his chest and had the same blazing look she’d had a thousand times before
“As long as it meant seeing you again, I’d wait forever”
They’d sat on her bed in each others arms all night, neither falling asleep until sunrise when Harry had planted a soft kiss on the top of a sleeping Ginny’s head and lay her down on her bed before whispering a good-bye and going downstairs to where Stu and Ron were already waiting with three packed bags near their feet, one for each.
Both looked solemn and as Harry entered, they stood and picked up the bags, Ron handed Harry a bag and whispered to his two friends; “Ready?” both nodded and the trio walked out the door into the unknown.

Harry hadn’t realised he had still been walking while thinking back to the memory, he found himself stopped on the edge of the Forbidden Forest where he knew his fate lay, where he knew one of two great Wizards will fall, where he knew this time he had to do it alone.
Harry walked straight through the forest, his mind blank, he soon reached the clearing where Voldemort stood waiting, Harry noted that there were no Death Eaters, they were all fighting inside and outside Hogwarts.
Harry slipped off the invisibility cloak his father had given him when he had received his Hogwarts letter and hid it in a hollow tree, he stepped into to clearing to face Voldemort and was met with his shrill, evil laugh.
