I had just sat down at the Gryffindor table in the Great Hall for breakfast when Lily walked in. I waved and she caught my eye and came to sit with me and the boys. She sat down, gave me a kiss on the cheek, and looked at me funny.
"You forgot to shave James," she said.
I rolled my eyes. "Actually, Lily dearest, I did not forget. I purposely didn't shave," I said matter-of-factly.
"...And why not?" She asked me, head tilting to the side.
"Well, Flower...I am going for a more rugged look," I explained.
She nodded as if she understood, but she had an amused smile on her face. "It looks really funny. It doesn't really suit you. You have more of a baby face. You should go shave it," she suggested cautiously.
My mouth dropped open. "Well! You pluck your eyebrows, you don't see me telling you to go shave those off," I exclaimed. Okay...that made no sense.
She raised an eyebrow. "Excuse me?" she replied.
"I said I'm going to go shave right now," I replied hurriedly. I got up quickly and ran out. I came back 20 minutes later, cleanly shaven. I glared at her. "I hate you," I said.
She laughed and kept eating. "Love you too, babe," she said, with a big smile on her face.
"I hope your happy. Now there's no way I could be rugged looking," I went on. Sirius, who had just sat down beside me, laughed. "Look at him! He didn't have to shave!" I said, pointing at him childishly.
"What are you? Nine?" Lily exclaimed exasperatedly.
"Ten," I answered sarcastically.
"James, why can't you just get over it? It looks better now," Lily said.
"No! I will not get over it!" I screamed. I didn't mean to scream it. I was aiming for my plate with my fork, and hit my hand, and when I said it, I accidently screamed it. Other students turned their heads to look at us.
"Merlin James. If I knew you were going to be such a baby, I wouldn't have bothered coming to sit with you. Next time don't shave." she said angrily. She got up, threw her napkin at the table and stormed off. I stared after her.
"Damn James. You're an idiot, you know that? That's probably the stupidest fight you two have ever had!" Sirius exclaimed after she had walked to the opposite end of the table to eat with her other friends.
"Shut up," I snapped at him.
"Jeez, no need to get so snappy, I was just saying. Gosh, if you were a girl, I'd think you were PMSing or something," he said,
A/N: Yeah yeah. I got the idea from a email forward. And I know the chapter is pretty short, but they'll get longer. I promise. This is my first fan fic, so don't hate me. I always read fan fics, and I just had a feeling to write one. It is 1am and I'm writing this. Jeez, you better review after all the work I've put in this. I'm sooo tired. Please review!
