“I can't believe we're going to go to America!”, Hermione Granger said excitedly.

 

“Do you even know where we are going or for what that matter.”, Ron Weasly whined.

 

It had been a great year for everyone Voldemort was finally dead. When this happened the school houses finally became united to some extent (there were still some problems with Slytherins, but not to many). Harry was finally happy beyond belief . The wizarding world was finally at ease. Now Dumbeldore decided to start a school exchange program with an American school. It was the chance of a lifetime considering that the top three students from each house would be going. So far to anyone's knowledge it only Ron, Hermione, and Harry. The other nine students had not shown up yet.

 

After what seemed like a lifetime or more, another group of three students showed up Luna Lovegood, Padma Patil, and Michael Corner.

 

“Hello, everybody.”, Luna said in her dreamy voice of hers.

 

“Hi Luna, Padma, and Michael.”

 

“Does anyone know what scho...”

 

“Well, if you guys pay attention to what was going on around you you would know that we were told in the letter we were sent a couple of weeks ago.”, Blaisé Zabani said with his sarcasm and smirk. Ahh, the Slytherins have showed up with Draco Malfoy and Pansy Parkinson.

 

“Where are we going Zabini?” Everyone asked quickly.

 

“It says The Chicago Institute of Magical Training and Art and that one student from each house will being staying at the family home one student each in order to understand how this school works.”, Draco said with a smirk.

 

With that said the last set of students showed up Hannah Abbott, Susan Bones, and Ernie Macmillan. Now everyone was waiting for Dumbeldore on platform 9 3/4 to show up and tell them how they are going to get to this school. Considering that it still the middle of June and the school year dosen't start till September first so everyone was wondering why they were waiting there. Finally everybody turned around when they heard a soft pop behind them.

 

“I see that everyone is here and you all seem to have your bags.”, Dumbeldore said with the twinkle that never seemed to leave his eyes. “Now everything like you owls and anything else you might need will be sent ahead the day after you get there and settled in your new homes. With that said here are the homes you will be staying at Miss Granger, Miss Lovegood, Mr Malfoy, and Mr Macmillan you will be staying at the home of the potions mistresses Ms. Smith. Mr Potter, Miss Parkinson, Mr Cornor, and Miss Abbott you will be staying the home of Mr and Mrs Kamenwati. Mr Weasly, Miss Bones, Mr Zabini, and Miss Patil you be staying at the home of Ms Greene the art teacher. Are there any questions? Good, now as you are probably why you are here this early in the summer is because, the American school system starts at the end of August so we want you there to become familiar with the area and where the school and some of the magical community is in Chicago.” With this said he handed the airline tickets to Hermione, Draco, Padma, and Hannah, “Now these tickets are portkeys that will take to the airport in Chicago for the magical community. After that you will be picked up by Anastacia and Philip Smith from there you will each be going to the homes of the other families after you get to the Smith's. Have a good year all of you.” With that there was a pop and he was gone. This was going to be one hell of a year and they all knew it.

 

Hermione read their tickets and found out that weren't leaving until late on in the day so after much debate it was decided to get some lunch and rest before they left. About an hour before they left most of them families showed up to wish them luck.

 

“Now kids remember don't cause any trouble and be on your best behavior.” Remus said to all them.

 

While everyone saying their goodbyes Remus told Harry that if he had any problems to owl him and he would be there as soon as possible.

 

“You know Harry your parents would be really proud of you and James would probably be jealous about this program because when he was in school it would never have been allowed. I also think Dumbeldore would have thought your father would have caused more problems.” Remus laughed.

 

After the goodbyes were said everybody waited patiently to go and let the fun begin.

 

“Five minutes to leave everyone we need to make sure that we're ready.” Hermione said quickly.

 

“Breathe Hermione we'll get there ok.” Harry quietly said as he grabbed her hand.

 

Everybody grabbed a hold of there personal tickets and made sure that all belongings were there and made sure they had everything. Then there was that familiar tug to the middle and everything began to swirl and change. When everybody opened their eyes and got a good look around they saw the sign that said “Welcome to Chicago and Enjoy your stay.”
