Sirius laced his fingers through mine, giving me a small peck on the lips before walking into the great hall, meeting up with the other marauders. James was sitting on a bench looking dishelved, a hand shaped bruise forming on his cheek. I grinned, turning to whisper in Sirius’s ear.

“Looks like he finally got Lilly to touch him.” Sirius burst out laughing after catching sight of James’s new bruise. Peter was talking to James, who seemed to not be paying attention to anything. With a cocked eyebrow Remus looked Sirius and I up and down.

“What’s going on here?” His eyes settled on our fingers laced through one and others.

“Paige and I are together now.” That statement brought James out of his semi catatonic state.

“What?” He glanced from my blushing to face to Sirius holding my hand.

“What’s going on and why are you holding hands?” Sirius smiled down at me, placing another kiss on my lips before turning back to James.

“Paige and I are together.” All the marauders’ mouths hung open.

“B-but Sirius, s-she’s a m-marauder.” Peter stuttered out.

I put up a hand. “We both made a promise to not let this get in the way of our friendships, so no matter what happens, no one has to chose sides, and we’ll always be friends.” Remus shook his head smiling.

“I saw it coming.” James stared at Remus.

“It’s just not right, I thought we agreed about not dating other marauders.” I left Sirius’s side to go sit by James.

“I’m not sure it will do any good, but I could try talking to Lilly.” James brightened up.

“Really Trix, you’d do that for me.” I nodded.

“Of course I would James.” After that James seemed to forget all about Sirius and I dating, his focus completely on Lilly.

“Well, shall we get going?” Sirius wrapped his arm around my waist as we walked to the Three Broomsticks. Finding a place to sit we all ordered butter beer before settling back into our conversation.

“Well all I’m saying is that it’s going to be kinda weird because normally when Sirius has a girlfriend I can be all go get her mate, shag her brains out and break her heart. But now that you’re dating Paige I can’t feel that way because I’ll be all Sirius is going to score and then wait Paige is going to score but I can’t be all break his/her heart you know because you’re you.” I quietly took the small flask from the table.

“You know James, I think you’ve had enough.” James squinted his eyes at me.

“Paige is right mate, you’ve had enough.” James jus glared at Sirius.

“Siding with your new girlfriend against a fellow marauder huh Padfoot.” With a smirk I leaned across the table to look James in the eyes.

“Or it could be a marauder’s boyfriend is siding with said marauder against a fellow marauder.” James smiled and nodded his head before a look of confusion spread across his face.

“Yeah, wait, huh?” Remus and Peter each took one of James’s arms draping them over their shoulders.

“Great example our head boy is setting.” Remus chuckled.

“Well it is James, and he is a marauder.” I nodded, my arm around Sirius’s waist while his was draped around my shoulders, a cigarette in his other hand. I checked my watch.

“Well we have about an hour to get ready for tonight.” Sirius threw his head back.

“I can’t wait.” After a quick stop to dunk James in the lake we made our way to the shrieking shack. I stepped into a different room to take off all of my clothes and wrap myself in a blanket. Poking my head around the corner I saw that the boys, except for James because of the size of his animal, had already transformed. I took a deep breath and centered myself, feeling the warm prickly feel of magick coursing through my veins. After a short time I trotted back into the main room, placing my head in Remus’s lap.

“Hey Trixie.” I nuzzled the palm of his hand, knowing that my presence calmed him before a change. Sirius nuzzled my side, and then looked up at Remus a goofy dog smile on his face.

“I still think dropping me in the lake was overkill.” James was still ringing the water out of his shirt. I happily went to nip at James’s heel.

“You better get outside Prongs, moon’s almost up.” James waved as he went out the door, and down the passage to the grounds. As the moon peeked out a convulsion hit Remus, the change had started. Within a few seconds I was standing by Remus, licking his cheek and trying to comfort him through the change.

Convulsion after convulsion swept through my friend until he was standing before us in his were-wolf form. Sirius led the way out to the grounds where we met up with James, stamping his hooves with impatience. I rolled my eyes and took off towards the forest, the thrill of the run lightening my mood. Sirius quickly caught up to me, nudging me from behind. I stopped abruptly and nipped his shoulder before taking off into the under-brush, our game of tag had begun.

Sirius ended up nipping James who quickly nudged Remus before turning tail and running away. A large body pinned me to the ground before running away: Remus had found me. I gently nipped Peter as he ran between my feet before running away, colliding with Sirius and sending us both tumbling down a hill. Sirius grunted before taking my neck in his mouth and growling playfully. I went limp and Sirius dropped me, whining in his worry for me; my plan had worked. I quickly jumped up onto his back and grabbed his scruff in my mouth. I could almost hear Sirius say “not fair”.

Our wrestling was cut short by Remus plopping down by us, Peter following, being carried by James. A light rain had picked up, leaving us soaked. After finding a nearby cave James lied down, with Peter nestled on his back. Remus lied next to James, with Sirius plopped down on James’s other side as I curled up next to him, grateful for the extra warmth.

I felt Sirius’s breathing even out with sleep, interrupted by the occasional little growl or bark. James had fallen into a deep sleep as had Peter. I carefully stood up and walked to the entrance where Remus sat. He moved over slightly, letting me sit next to him. We watched the sun come up, and with it Remus changed back into a human. I changed back to keep him company, using Remus’s coat to cover myself.

“So you and Sirius.” It was a less a question than a statement. I shifted and looked over at our three sleeping friends.

“Yeah.” Remus nodded and began checking himself for injuries.

“How did you do last night?” Scanning my legs I noticed only a few light scratch marks, the kind that would fade by the end of the day.

“Pretty good, you?” Remus inspected a rather nasty cut on his arm that had scabbed over.

“I’ll have to see the nurse.” Remus let out a sigh and then turned to look me in the eyes. “I’m thinking about telling Emily.” His statement caught me off guard.

“Remus, I, wow.” He looked off into the distance.

“I think she’ll accept me for it, and besides, you all did.” He smiled slightly.

“Remus, I don’t know, I’m not going to tell you not to tell her, but wait at least until we graduate, then at least you won’t have to deal with anything if word got out.” Remus nodded again.

“That’s logical. I think I’ll wait, thank you Paige.” I placed a hand on his arm.

“Remus, you know I’ll always be here for you right?” With a smile Remus gave a quick hug.

“I know Paige, you’re a good friend.” The sound of a loud yawn brought our attention back to our three friends. Sirius had woken up and changed back, rubbing his eyes. I picked myself up and went to sit next to Sirius, who wrapped his arms around me, and brought me down so that we were spooning.

“I don’t want to wake up yet.” I giggled and felt Sirius nuzzle the back of my neck. Sleep soon took Sirius away again as I sat there absorbing everything that had happened. Sirius and I had gotten together, I really had been a threat to all those girls. And now I was dating one of the most sought after boys in Hogwarts, I would be considered the luckiest girl in school, and also one of the most despised.
