"how about you open your gorgeous eyes
& see whats right in front of you."

Hermione approached the Owlery feeling tired and nervous. She had been looking for Harry and Ron everywhere. She needed to talk to them. She had looked at all the usual places they went - the Three Broomsticks, Honeydukes, the quidditch shop... but they were nowhere to be found.

She finally got to the top of the tower that held all the owls, ready for delivery. She looked around, but of course, no one was there. Sighing, she made her way back down the spiral staircase. She was thinking hard - trying to remember any place she hadn't checked, when she suddenly bumped into someone.

"Oh!" she exclaimed.

"Sorry, Hermione, " giggled a girl. Hermione looked up. It was Lavender. And, his arm wrapped around her waist tightly, it was also Ron. He had a pink smudge on his cheek that looked suspiciously like lipgloss. Hermione gave him a dirty look and he looked like he was ready to die.

"Anyone else up there, Hermione?" Lavender asked.
"No..."

"Okay, well, see you later!" She pushed past Hermione and pulled Ron up the stairs, giggling again. "Come on, Won Won!"

Hermione turned away quickly and started running. She ran out of the owlery as fast as she could, ran all the way back to Hogwarts. She burst into the nearest bathroom, shut herself in a stall, and burst out crying.

* * * * *

"you put your arm around my waist
& pulled me closer... & it didn`t feel weird
or like we were crossing any lines
it just made sense... it just felt right

Draco wrapped his arms around Jayla's waist, pulling her close to him. There noses touched and she grinned at him.

"This is just where we left off yesterday, " she said quietly.

Draco smirked. "Think you can handle it?"

Jayla made a face, sticking her tongue out at him. She opened her mouth to respond but was interrupted by Draco's lips coming down on her's.

When they kissed, her whole body tingled. She literally saw the fireworks she had read about in so many romance novels. Sure, she had kissed other guys before, but it was never so intense.

One of Draco's hands snaked up her back and stroked her neck softly. He pulled away and hugged her for a moment. "Maybe we should head back to the school, " he murmered.

Jayla nodded, quite speechless. She grabbed his hand and they began to walk back towards the castle. It was getting really dark outside, and the wind had picked up quite a bit. Looking around, it seemed like she and Draco were the only students left in Hogsmeade.

Suddenly, there was a huge gust of wind. She and Draco stopped walking in order to brace themselves so they wouldn't fall over. Jayla laughed, and Draco was smirking like crazy. He squeezed her hand tightly. A light rain began to fall from the grey sky.

Draco watched as Jayla looked up at the sky and stuck her tongue out. She caught a few drops of rain in her mouth and smiled. "It's strangley romantic outside, don't you think?"

Draco nodded. He couldn't stop staring at her. He pulled her close to him again and kissed her, hard. He wrapped his hands around her back, not caring that the rain was falling harder and harder by the second.

Jayla didn't seem to care either. She ran a hand through Draco's hair and as she felt his tongue brush her bottom lip, she willingly obliged. They kissed deeply, sending shivers through both of their bodies.

A clap of thunder told them it was time to stop - at least long enough to get back to the castle. Teeth chattering, they ran back to school hand in hand, both grinning like idiots and shooting each other knowing looks.

When they burst in the entrance doors, Draco and Jayla were given a dirty look by Filch, who was standing outside the door to the great hall.

"Dinner's already started, " he scowled.

"That's okay, " Jayla said. She squeezed Draco's hand. "We don't need to eat."

They walked away from Filch, laughing. Draco tugged on Jayla's hand.

"Come on, " he said suddenly. He wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her close to him.

"Where are we going?"

"You'll see."

Draco led Jayla far from the great hall, past the entrance to Gryffindor tower, past many classrooms, past the library. Finally he stopped in the middle of a corridor and let her go.

"Stay here for a minute, and come when I call, okay?"

"Okay, " Jayla said, feeling a bit nervous. She hoped Draco wasn't getting the wrong idea and leading her to a bedroom.

Draco walked down the corridor and turned a corner, ut of site. A moment later he called her, and she came quickly.

He was standing in front of what Jayla had previously thought to be an ordinary mirror - but she could now see that it was a secret doorway.

"What's that lead to?"

"Come on, " Draco urged, ignoring her question. He grabbed her hand again and pulled her inside, closing the door behind them.

Jayla looked around the room he had pulled her into. It looked like an office - there was a desk in one corner, an empty bookshelf, and a red couch. A lamp on the desk was the only source of light.

"I found this room in my second year, " Draco said. "I think it used to be somebody's office, but they probably left the school."

"Wow, " Jayla said. "It's so cute and small!"

Draco laughed, a bit nervously. He sat down on one end of the couch. "So..."

Jayla sat beside him. "So why'd you bring me here?"

"Well, I wanted to show you... and I also wanted to do this...." He slid up to her, wrapped his arms around her, and bent over her, kissing her again. Jayla lay down flat on her back, kissing him back passionately. They finally broke apart and Draco stared at her. A curly strand of hair was stuck to her face, and he gently brushed it away, smirking. "Happy now?" he asked.

Jayla smiled. Draco's hair was hanging down into his eyes - it looked adorable. He was looking at her mischeviously, his grey eyes sparking in the lamplight.

"We should go, " she said softly.

Draco scoffed. "Trying to get rid of me?"

"No! Of course not! I only -" she stopped as Draco started to laugh. "What's so funny?"
"You! You thought I was being serious."

"Oh." Jayla frowned.

"I know you'll be dying to snog me again as soon as we're apart, " Draco said dramatically.

"Will not! I didn't even like it!"

"Ha! You liar." Draco reached down towards her and stroked her side. "Remember what happened last time we flirted like this?"

Jayla remembered. How they had laughed too loudly, how McGonagall and Snape had reported them to Dumbledore.

"Oh my god!" Jayla suddenly remembered something. "We have detention! With Dumbledore!"

Draco's eyes widened and he sat up. He glanced at his watch. "Shit! It's eight thirty! We're a half hour late!"

They both scrambled off the couch and out of the office, and started sprinting to
Dumbledore's office. When they finally reached his door, they were so out of breath they could barely talk when he opened it.

"Why, hello." Dumbledore was looking at them with a wise glint in his eyes. "Decided to stop by for a visit?"

Jayla ran a hand through her wet hair. She could feel it starting to frizz from the rain - she knew she must look ghastly. She glanced at Draco - his hair was also wet, one side of it was sticking up where Jayla had run her fingers through it.

"We're sorry, sir, " Draco said. "We didn't realize the time, it won't happen again."

"We'll stay for extra long, if you like, " Jayla added.

"There's no need for that. I'm sure it won't happen again. I know how easy it is to ... lose track of time," Dumbledore said, his eyebrows raised.

Jayla felt herself blush. "We'll get to work, then."

She and Draco headed into the back room. After the headmaster shut the door on them, Jayla burst into laughter.

"I don't see what's so bloody funny, " Draco said, smiling nonetheless.

"God... that man is smart. He knew exactly why we were late."

"I know, " Draco said bitterly.

Jayla reached down into her purse for her mirror, and that's when she realized she wasn't wearing her uniform.

"Bloody hell!"

"What's wrong?" Draco asked.

"We never changed back into our uniforms!"

Draco's jaw dropped and Jayla laughed again. "Merlin. Now we're in for it, " he said.

"When we walk back to our dorms everybody's going to wonder what we were doing..."

"Oh well. Let them wonder, " Jayla said. She opened her mirror and looked at her reflection. Her mascara was smudged under her eyes and her hair was getting bigger by the second. she desperately tried to flatten it, to no prevail. She sighed and snapped the mirror shut.

"God, I look an awful mess."

"You don't, " Draco said. "You always look great."

"Oh..." Jayla didn't know what to say, so she picked up a folder off the floor. "Should we get to work?"

"Yeah. Can I see your mirror for a second?"

Jayla handed it to him cautiously.

"Don't laugh at me, " Draco said seriously. He opened the mirror, took one look, and groaned. "I look like Harry fucking Potter!"

Jayla laughed, of course. "Don't be stupid. Your hair's blonde!"

Draco glared at her.

"At least you don't look like you have an afro, " Jayla said sadly. "I'd give anything for straight hair."

"Why? Your hair is so interesting."

Jayla let out a sarcastic laugh. "Ha, ha. Trying to suck up to me now?"

"Not exactly..." Draco sidled up to her and put a hand on her lower back. "I don't feel like sorting folders."

"Neither do I... but we really should - "

Draco kissed her, just for a second. She stood there, dazed and speechless. They stared at each other.

"I've changed my mind, " Jayla said suddenly. She grabbed the front of Draco's shirt and pulled him into another kiss, a more agressive kiss. She wrapped her arms around his shoulders and his hands slid around her waist. As she tried to take a step closer to him, her leg wrapped around his. He shifted his foot, messing up her balance. They fell to the floor, laughing.

"You, Draco Malfoy, are one smooth guy, " Jayla said sarcastically. She had ended up falling underneath him, so he towered over her.

"Whatever do you mean?" Draco asked innocently. "That was a complete accident."

Jayla smiled. "I'm sooooo sure."

Draco shrugged. "Whatever. Let's get on with it." His lips crashed down on her's once more, and any thoughts of serving their detention properly were lost in a haze of snogging.
