It was almost 8:00 and the Marauders, Niki, Lily, and Shay were making sure they had everything they needed.
"They should be here in about 5 minutes," Lily said.
"Do we have food?" Peter asked.
"Check," James said.
"Music?" Niki asked.
"Check," Remus said.
"But most importantly, do we have alcohol?" Shay asked.
"Check. We have anything your little heart desires," Sirius said pointing to the bar.
Shay's eyes lit up. There was any kind of alcohol there is to man.
"It's like paradise." Shay said and made herself a drink.
The party got started when everybody arrived. James was pouring shots of fire whiskey for everyone.
"Let's make a toast," Marlene said picking up her shot glass.
"To our last year in Hogwarts and our first in the real world."
They all clanked their glasses together.
"Bottoms up," Benjy said.
"Ok, we need some music."
Shay ran over to the record player. She put on some random disco record. Shay danced her way over to the bar singing. She grabbed another drink and the other girls and started dancing with them. They guys watched the girls of coarse. What guy wouldn’t want to watch five gorgeous girls dancing?
"Come on you perverts, quit staring, and come dance with us." Shay yelled.
"She's such a lovely girl, isn't she?" Fabian said sarcastically.
"Yea, she'll tell you how it is, straight up, no bull shit," Sirius said and walked over to Shay.
"Can I have this dance?" Sirius asked.
"Of course. I've been waiting for you to ask."
A slow song came on.
"When did you learn to dance, Mr. Black?" Shay asked.
"I've always known how to dance, it's just that I don't like to," Sirius said twirling Shay around.
"If you don't like dancing then why did you ask me to dance?" Shay asked raising an eyebrow.
"Because I'll do anything for you" Sirius said and then dipped her.
"Merlin, you are so corny."
"You know this is when we are supposed to kiss."
"Well if we were going out, then yes we would be kissing, but we're not, so we won't," Shay said.
"Yea, I guess so" Sirius said disappointedly and pulled her upright.
"Now I'm going to get a drink."
Shay walked over to the bar and almost got run over by the twins, who were doing some kind of crazy tango. She started to talk to Marlene as she was making a drink.
"So I see you are getting pretty close with Sirius," Marlene said with a smirk.
"Yea, I guess. But we're just taking it one day at a time."
"Don't worry Shay. He's a great boyfriend."
"Well if he's so great then why did you guys break up?" Shay asked matter-of-factly.
"We weren't compatible as a couple. We are much better off as friends."
"You know you were my favorite out of all his girlfriends."
"Yes, well you've never been a fan of his girlfriends have you? Remember when you punched Vanessa Collins in the nose?"
"She wouldn't shut up. I had to deal with that for a whole week."
"What are you guys talking about?" Sirius asked.
"You and Vanessa Collins." Marlene said.
"Ah, yea that's the one Shay punched," Sirius said and then stole Shay's drink and chugged it.
"Oy, butthead. That's my drink!" Shay said punching him softly in the stomach.
"You just can't keep your hands off me, can you?"
"Yes I can and if you keep on being a smartass, touching will be out of the option," Shay said and walked off leaving Marlene laughing at Sirius.
Shay walked through the people and saw, as usual, Niki and Remus making out.
"What are you guys animals?"
"Must you always interrupt us when we are having fun?" Remus asked frustrated.
"Yes, having too much fun can be bad for you." Shay said.
"You're drunk, aren't you" Niki said.
"Just a little" Shay said.
"Remember, having too much fun can be bad for you" Remus said, trying to be a smart ass.
"Hey, my fun leads to headaches, your fun leads to babies. I'll take the headaches." Shay said and walked away.
She saw James sitting by himself on the couch and decided to keep him company.
"James, you're supposed to be a party machine. What are you doing here, looking so lonely?" Shay asked.
"I don't know," he said staring at the other side of the room.
Shay looked to see what he was staring at. It was Lily. She was talking with Caradoc.
"Go dance with her," Shay said.
"She would be perfect with someone like Caradoc. He's smart, nice, and funny. Why would she want to be with someone like me?" James asked.
"James, you are all those things plus more. And if she didn't like you then why would she be going to Hogsmeade with you? You are one of my best friends and she is one of my best friends and I know for a matter of fact that if you go ask her to dance she will say yes and you guys will spend the rest of the night together and have a good time."
"Really? Ok, I'll go ask her, but if she says no, it's coming back to you."
"I will take the blame," Shay said and watched James walk away.
Soon James's spot was taken by Sirius who had a drink in each hand.
"Here you go. A gift from me to you."
"You truly are a good friend." Shay said.
"And hopefully soon I'll be a good boyfriend."
"Maybe. I don't know why you would want me as a girlfriend. It's not like I'm good at it. I'll probably screw something up very soon. So just be prepared." Shay said.
"Ok." Sirius said, ignoring Shay's drunken speech.
"What a sight," Shay said pointing to James and Lily.
They were dancing very closely.
"Do you remember the first time they met?" Shay asked Sirius.
"Yea, that is something I'll never forget."
Flashback (7 years ago):
"Let's find somewhere to sit." An 11 year old Shay said to Sirius and James who were following her.
They searched the train until they found a compartment with a girl with red hair sitting in it.
"Can we join you?" Shay asked the girl.
"Yea, come right in." the girl said with a smile.
"Hi, I'm Shay Calhoun, and this is Sirius Black and James Potter."
"I'm Lily Evans. Nice to meet you all."
"Are you a 1st year?" Sirius asked.
"Yes, are you all?"
"Yep. So what house do you think you're going to be in?" Shay asked.
"Well I don't really know too much about Hogwarts yet, but I heard that Gryffindor is the best house to be in," Lily said with a smile.
"You must be a muggle born then. Shay and I have never met a muggle born before," Sirius said with excitement.
"You see all three of us are pureblood. But James here is the only one who has good parents. Both Sirius and I come from bad families. All of our families have been sorted into Slytherin, with exception of a few. You don't want to be sorted into Slytherin. You go in bad and come out worse. But you don't have to worry because you're muggle born," Shay said with a small smile.
"Aw, we're not that bad are we?" Shay heard from the door.
All four looked and saw three people standing there. It was 4th year Lucius Malfoy, 7th year Bellatrix Black, 3rd year Narcissa Black.
"Can you guys leave us alone, I don't feel like dealing with mentally challenged people right now," Shay said and tried to slide the door shut, but Lucius's foot was in the way.
"Now how could you bad mouth Slytherin like that? You could become one very soon. It's in your blood."
"Being a bitchy snob, with a stick up my ass, is not in my blood." Shay said.
"What went wrong with you and your brother? Sirius, you're a disappointment too. It's a shame that you're already making friends with mudbloods," Bella said.
"Take that back!" James yelled.
"Potter, I hope you're not dumb enough too get hexed because of a mudblood."
"Stop calling her that!" he said and raised his wand.
"James, no! Don't get yourself in trouble, it's not worth it." Lily said.
"Yea listen to the filthy mudblood. Why get yourself in trouble? She's not going to last that long," Lucius said.
"You're such a prick," Shay said and finally got the door shut.
"If he ever reproduces, that child will be the spawn of satan. Half Malfoy, half Black. It gives me the chills thinking about it," Shay said refering to Lucius and Narcissa's repulsive relationship.
"Don't worry about them; we'll only have to deal with them for next seven years," Sirius said.
The four settled down and started to get to know Lily, but were soon interrupted by the door sliding open. They looked to see who it was.
"Snivellus, you could have atleast taken your monthly shower before you got on the train," Sirius said and Shay elbowed him hard.
"Severus, I was wondering were you went to," Lily said with a smile.
"You know him?" Shay asked.
"Yea, we've been friends for about two years. Sev is the one that introduced me to magic. Do you know him?" Lily said and Snape smiled at her.
"Yea, we're cousins," Shay said and rolled her eyes.
"Sev, you never told me that you had a cousin our age."
"There's a reason for that" Severus said uncomfortably.
"Let's just say we don't get along. He's a conformist," Shay said and gave him a dirty look.
"Come on Lily. Let's go find a different compartment" Snape said and took Lily's hand.
"Why don't you go join the rest of Slytherin. We were talking to Lily before you rudely interrupted," James said.
"Maybe she doesn't want to talk to an arrogant toerag who doesn't even know how to brush his hair," Snape said with a sneer.
James raised his eyebrow and got his wand out.
"James don't you dare," Shay said quickly but it was too late.
Snape's eyes got extremely wide as he felt a cold wind on his head. James had vanished all his hair.
"There, now we don't have to look at his greasy hair anymore" James said and he Sirius started laughing hysterically.
"You two are going to get expelled before you even get to Hogwarts" Shay yelled.
James suddenly stopped laughing and got down on one knee in front of Lily.
"Lily Evans, you're beautiful. Will you go out with me?"
"No" she said quickly.
"One, you are an insufferable prat. Two, I don't like you and I never will" Lily said and Shay and Sirius started to laugh.
James just smiled and sat back down.
"I think I just fell in love a little more."
They saw another flash of anger in Lily's and she quickly left with Snape.
"We made a great impression on her," Sirius said and James left and Shay just shook her head.
End of flashback
After Shay and Sirius got done reminiscing, they saw James and Lily kiss.
"Did you just see what I saw?" Sirius asked.
"Yea. I thought the day I saw that, I would drop over dead."
"How come we can't do that?" Sirius asked.
"Because we are not them."
"Aw come on babe, how can you resist this?" Sirius said displaying himself.
"It's not that hard. I've been doing it for 17 years now."
"Come on Shay stop fighting your feelings. You know you've wanted me since we were little kids playing in the sandbox."
Shay hit him up side his head.
"Ow, why did you do that?"
"Maybe if I beat your head enough, it will get a little smaller."
"You should be nice to me, I brought you that drink."
"I guess." Shay said with a smile.
Shay rested her head on Sirius's shoulder.
"Sirius, why are you so nice to me?"
"I care about you more than anyone else. And you've always been there for me. And you put up with my shit."
Shay looked up at him lovingly.
"You're too good to me."
Then they both started leaning in and…
