"There is no greater sorrow than to recall in misery the time when we were happy."
- Dante

Lily tapped her quill annoyingly against the table, her eyes glancing at the couple a few tables from her and Remus. Remus was staring at her with curiousity gleaming in his soft eyes, a smile slowly creeping to his lips. Lily hadn't turned one page in her book since James and Kate had arrived to the Library, and that was almost forty minutes now! Lily was the expert of blocking anything or anyone out - if she only wanted. Remus had always admired the concentration Lily had. But now, he noticed for the first time how disturbed Lily was.

"Lily," he said quietly, but when Lily continued tapping the quill against the table, Remus snatched her quill away from her and Lily looked up with raised eyebrows. "Lily!"

"What?" she asked, blushing a bit.

"What's wrong with you?"

"Nothing!" she said quickly, reaching for her quill. Remus lift his hand, arching a brow at her. "Remus, give me my quil!"

"Not before you tell me the truth," Remus said, the true Marauder coming out in him.

"I--" Lily started but was cut off by someone's shadow towering over her. She slowly looked up, still reaching over the table for her quill, her eyes meeting Matthew Harper's blue eyes. "Hi!" she said, trying to look as graceful as she could in her position. "What's up?"

"Hi Lily," Matthew said, smiling at her. "Is there a problem?" he asked, glancing at Remus.

"No," Lily said, shaking her head as she leaned back in her chair. "Remus is just--"

"--blackmailing for information," Remus said, not sure if he liked the way Matthew looked at him. "For fun," he put in, to make sure that it wasn't anything serious.

"Aren't you one of those Marauders?" Matthew asked, raising his eyebrows. When Remus nodded, also raising his eyebrows, Matthew chuckled and looked around. "Then what are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to create mischief in the school?"

Remus turned red, cursing under his breath and glanced at Lily, who gaped in shock at Matthew. She knew that he was witty, but no one - no one - was witty towards the Marauders. Not one of them!

Except Lily and her friends - maybe.

"Lily," Matthew said suddenly, turning back to Lily before Remus come with a comeback. "I was just wondering, since there's a Hogsmeade trip this weekend, and I thought that maybe you would like to go there with me?" he said, grinning widely.

Lily glanced quickly at James, noticing how he stared at her intently as Kate was bent over her book. For a moment, she could have sworn that James tried to say something by the way he stared.

Looking slowly back at Matthew, she flashed him a charming smile and giggled loudly, trying to make sure that James saw and heard her. She had seen Nessa done this so many times, so by now, she was an expert; she flipped her red hair over her shoulder and blinked her eyes, smiling up at Matthew.

"I would love to!" she said, making Matthew grin even wider.

"Great! See you then, right?"

"Yeah," Lily said, and with that, Matthew was gone.

When Lily turned back to her book, she turned a page, a small smile plastered on her face. Remus stared her with a quizzical look, but deicded to not ask anything. Lily would tell him if she wanted to.

James shot daggers after Matthew as the boy passed him, and he made a silent promise to himself that he would do anything to win Ravenclaw in Quidditch when the time came. His eyes darted to Kate, who sat rubbing her temples as she whispered the words she read silently, trying to concentrate so hard.

Suddenly she looked up, her eyes meeting with James' hazel ones, and she smiled with a small blush.

"I can't concentrate if you're looking at me like that!" she said and turned the page.

"Like what?" James asked.

"Well, staring!" Kate said and tried to concentrate on the book again. "Okay, I'm done, I can't do this anymore. James, I'll be int he Common Room reading, okay?" she said and picked up her things. "I can't concentrate here."

"Okay, see you," James said, watching Kate leave the Library.

As soon as she was gone, James dashed over to Remus and Lily's table, sitting down beside Remus and opened his book again.

"Erm, excuse me?" Lily said, trying to sound polite.

"Yeah, hi," James said, glancing up at her with a smirk. "I just wanted to bless you two with my presence," he said, and got kicked by Remus under the table. "Oww, what was that for!?"

"Shut up, James," Remus said quietly, looking quickly at his friend.

James frowned and shook his head, while looking back at his book.

Five minutes turned to fifteen, and soon he had stared at the same page for a half an hour - just like Lily.

"Yeah, I gotta go," Remus said suddenly, after watching them both for ten minutes. "Bye!" he said and rushed off before James or Lily could say a word.

Lily looked after Remus, wondering why he had dashed off like that. When she glanced at James, she noticed him staring at her, and she let out a huff.

"What did that Harper bloke want?" James asked suddenly.

"God, James!" Lily said, leaning back in her chair with a look of disbelief. "You made it thirty minutes without asking anything, congratulations!" she said sarcastically.

"What!?" James asked innocently. "Well sorry that you're not number one at the list of things I need to bother my head with!"

"Lucky me," Lily muttered and collected her things. "Goodbye, Potter."

James blinked a few times before running after Lily, following her down the corridor.

"I'm not done with you!" he called lamely after her. "You didn't answer my question!"

"And since when have I been telling you about my private things?" Lily asked over her shoulder.

"Fine! Be stubborn then!" James said and stopped following her.

"Fine!" Lily said when she realized that he had stopped following her. She turned around and smiled a wicked smile before adjusting her bag on her shoulder. "If you really want to know, Matthew asked me out," she said, smirking. "And I said yes!"

And with that, James watched Lily walk away, his eyes following her retreating back.

Bloody hell..., he thought, walking in the other direction.

Izzy dropped her bag on the floor and climbed through the window. She looked over the grounds were the other seventh years were enjoying their day, as she sat down on the surprisingly cold roof. Izzy slwoly pulled her knees against her chest and sighed, tilting her head to the side as she let her eyes take in it all.

The roof had always been a place where she and her friends used to come and just... sit. She and Nessa would always sit furthest from the window, both of them enjoying the wind in their hair - and Nessa not caring how messy her hair would be after it. Since Kate was afraid of heights, she would usually stay inside, but still be involved in the discussions, that usually was about James Potter being a stupid git.

Everytime Izzy had had a bigger fight with Nessa, she would come here and think about it. Very few knew that Izzy used to regret most of the things she said to people - all the insults and rude comebacks. She had never said it out loud to anyone, but her friends had figured out by themselves, but didn't dare to ask, since they knew that Izzy would never admit it as long as she lived and had her pride - or stubborness, whatever you like to call it.

But now, Izzy had a feeling that Nessa wouldn't come here. Usually it had to be them both who said sorry, and felt bad, but Izzy knew that she was alone with those feelings. Nessa hadn't exactly donw anything wrong, and Izzy knew fully well why she was pissed.

Actually, she wondered why Nessa had been so upset. It wasn't like she liked Sirius or anything. Maybe she just saw it as a betrayal or something. But then again, Izzy understood her friend. Izzy had always pitied those girls who swooned over Sirius, and actually loathed those who came out giggling from the broom closet - not to mention those who were lucky enough to spend a Hogsmeade afternoon with Sirius and the lovely Marauders.

"Knew you would be here," someone said, and Izzy didn't need to even look to see who it was.

"I'm sorry, Sirius," she said, her voice soft and gentle.

Sirius raised his eyebrows and climbed out through the window, sitting down next to Izzy. He was surprised to fiund Izzy apologize, and to hear her talk that soft and gentle. Usually she was rude, harsh or just mean, maybe even sarcastic - on a good day. This was new to Sirius, and somehow, he liked this side better.

"Don't be," he said shrugging. "It doesn't fit you."

Izzy chuckled softly, lying back on the roof, watching the clouds fly by on the blue sky. She tensed up a bit as Sirius followed suit, leaning on his elbows as he looked up at the sky too.

"I just want to know," Sirius said slowly, not looking at Izzy. "What the kiss was about."

Izzy sighed, also leaning to her elbows now. She looked pointedly at her shoes, trying to find the right words to say. For her surprise, there were none.

"Sirius, you're a great bloke, you really are," she started, looking at him with a smile. "But I'm not a girl who falls in love. Actually, I'm quite sure that I can't. Besides, to me, friends come first," Izzy said, sighing again and nodded. "So I would say that it was nothing."

Sirius nodded, a smile slowly appearing on his handsome face."

"Well, I'm not a boy to fall in love either," Sirius said. "And to me friends come first, too."

"I know," Izzy said, remembering how loyal Sirius was to his friends.

"And I really like you," Sirius said, shocking Izzy a bit. "Izzy, we feel comfortable with each other, we're so much alike, and you're a great girl in every way!"

Izzy looked at Sirius, realizing how close his face was. And how handsome he truly was...

Izzy gasped as she felt Sirius' lips against hers, and she let him push her down on her back, his soft lips grazing Izzy's. He slowly pulled apart, his hand brushing away a strand of her blonde hair, as he smiled down at her.

"Want to go to Hogsmeade with me?"

Nessa walked next to Regulus, feeling her whole body completly numb. She got weird looks as she passed the other students and she knew fully well why. The last thing people had expected was to see Nessa walk hand in hand with Regulus - or someone like him. There was no denying that he wasn't handsome, because he was. Maybe it was because he reminded his brother so much...

After sinking so low that she asked help from Regulus, she had practically become his girlfriend. How that had happened, she had no idea. She didn't even remember herself agreeing on anything, it had just... happened.

"Well, we're here," Regulus said, turning around to face Nessa.

Nessa looked around, realizing that they were already at the Transfiguration class. Two hours had gone so fast that she hadn't even noticed.

As people filed into the classroom, they gave Nessa and Regulus disgusted glances, but none of them said anything. They didn't dare.

"Thank you," Nessa whispered, letting Regulus embrace her tightly.

Just then Sirius came around the corner with Izzy on his back - another surprising couple. Nessa's eyes narrowed as she saw them, and she wrapped her arms around Regulus' neck, closing her eyes tigthly to not let any tears escape her eyes.

"I'll see you after class, okay?" Regulus asked and pulled away, his hands lingering around her waist.

"Regulus!" Sirius said loudly, when he ahd finally noticed the two of them hugging. He had put Izzy down, and they both rushed over to Nessa and Regulus. "What the hell do you think you're doing?"

Nessa stared down at the floor, as Regulus turned to face his older brother. His arm was still around Nessa, as he smirked widely to Sirius. They looked so much alike, that the only thing that put them apart was Sirius' length and the scar that crossed his throat, which he always said had came when he had wrestled with a Hippogriff.

"What does it look like?" Regulus asked.

"Stay the hell away from her!" Izzy snarled, stepping closer but Sirius held her back. "Nessa, come..." she said, reaching to grab her hand.

"Don't touch me!" Nessa growled, giving Izzy's hand a disgusted look.

"W-what?" Izzy said, pulling her hand back in shock. "Nessa, what's going on?"

"Regulus, what's going on?" Sirius demanded, frowning, as his eyes jumped from Nessa to his brother.

"Isn't it obvious?" he asked. "I'm saying goodbye to my girlfriend."

"G-girlfriend?" Sirius said with a weak voice, stumbling back a bit.

"Girlfriend!?" Izzy said, not knowing if she should laugh or not. "Give me a break, Black, Nessa would never date you! Merlin..." she said, brushing her blonde hair behind her ear. "Right, Nessa?" she asked, glancing at Nessa.

The very moment she met her eyes, Izzy grew unsure. Something in the way Nessa looked at her, almost apologetic to proove her friend wrong, was enough to break Izzy inside. Izzy grabbed Sirius' arm for support and gaped in shock at Nessa, her hazel eyes filling with disgust.

"Nessa..." she said weakly, shaking her head slowly. "Don't tell me you... you..."

"It's none of your business who I date," Nessa snapped and glanced at Sirius. "I gotta go..." she said and made to leave for the class, but Regulus pulled her back into his arms, and before anyone could react, he had pressed his lips roughly against Nessa's, kissing her.

"Bye," Nessa said quietly, as Regulus pulled away. She smiled unsurely to him and rushed into the class, taking a seat in the very back corner.

Izzy gaped as Regulus smirked and left, Izzy's eyes staring after Regulus. Sirius slowly took Izzy's hand, giving it a squeeze as he lead her gently to the classroom, where everyone were talking about the sudden kiss Nessa had had with Regulus Black. They all fell quiet as they saw Sirius and Izzy enter - both of them holding hands. Everyone's eyes - not to mention McGonagall's - followed them as they sat as far away from Nessa as possible. The very moment they had sat down, everyone broke into another wave of heated whispers.

As Lily walked in with Matthew, both of them deep in a discussion, James following with a look that could kill, and Kate and Remus looking both very awkward.

McGonagall stood up, watching the five last students sit down, shaking her head slowly, and Izzy could have sworn she mumbled "Atleast something is the same..."

A/N: Drrrrrrama!!! :D Okay, I'm sorry that I haven't put any Lily/James in this story, but I've been too busy doing the whole Izzy/Sirius/Nessa drama, not to mention the beginning of a larger Lily/James drama, which had to start with the Kate/James. I'm so sorry :( Don't hate me xD Also, I'm trying to get new chapter images for the new chapters, so I try to get them before I update. Okay, so reviews, reviews, reviews, reviews are lovely people! :D
