Chapter 14 – Balls, Oh Bugger, Oh Bloody Hell
“Fuck,” Sirius said, under his breath, pacing his dorm. “Fuck.”
He ran his fingers through his raven coloured hair before beginning to pace again.
He groaned before falling backwards onto his bed.
“Padfoot mate, what have you done?” He asked himself.
“Hey Padfoot, you’re missing a great party.” Remus said entering the room.
Noticing Sirius laying on his bed with is hands covering his face, Remus walked over.
“What’s on your mind monkey butt?”
Sirius looked up at his friend.
“I kissed her Moony,” he said I a voice that was barely audible.
“Mate you’re gonna have to be a little more specific, you’ve snogged a lot of girls.” Remus said smiling to himself a little.
“Faith!” Sirius cried jumping to his feet and beginning to pace again.
Remus stopped smiling. “What? When? Why?”
“End of quidditch and I dunno, it sort of just happened.”
Remus shook his head.
“Moony,” Sirius said coming to a stand still. “I think I love her.”
“WHAT? WHO?” yelled James, who was standing in the doorway.
Sirius opened his mouth to speak, but Remus got there first.
“No,” James said shaking his head.
“Urgh, I don’t know what to do! I mean we’re friends again and I don’t want to start more rowing,”
‘Maybe you should find her and tell her,” Remus said.
Sirius ignored him and kept on rambling. “-urgh. She’s just so, I dunno, I mean what if she doesn’t like me?”
“Maybe you should find her and tell her.” Remus repeated.
“This is all so confusing! What am I gonna do? What the fuck am I gonna do?”
“I have an idea,” James said.
“Yeah Prongs, what is it?”
“I think you should find her and tell her yeah?”
“Right, excellent idea mate.”
Remus groaned and hit himself on the forehead.
Sirius walked out of the dorm.
“Why do I even bother with you two?” Remus exclaimed.
“I’m sorry Moony did you say something?”
Sirius found Faith in the fifth floor corridor.
“Hey Faith,” Sirius cried out walking over to her.
She held up a hand to silence him and continued to talk into her hand.
“So Easter then?” She asked.
Sirius was shocked when the hand talked back in an American accent.
“Yes indeedy. How many peeps were ya thinking?”
“Well me, obviously, and four friends. Can we fit?”
“It’ll be a little tight but we’ll manage. Later loser.”
Faith tucked the two-way mirror in her pocket before turning to face Sirius.
“I got some awesome news!” She cried. “We gotta find the gang!”
She grabbed his hand and dragged him back in the direction of the common room.
“What is going on?” He asked as she dragged him through the portrait hole.
“You’ll see.” She smiled leading him over to the fire place where Remus was doing his homework with Lily and James was leaning back in his chair playing with the golden snitch, allowing it to fly a foot or two away before catching it again.
“Guess what chums and chummettes!”
“What?” Lily said absentmindedly scribbling out a mistake in her arythmacy homework.
“Oh nothing much, just a small trip to America in the Easter holidays.”
“WHAT?!” Lily screamed, startling James who fell off of his chair.
“OK so my friend Georgia, who lives in Boston, and I were talking and she said I should go visit in the holidays and I said I should bring you guys so now for a week in the Easter holidays we are venturing to my world. What do you say?”
Lily stared at her, Sirius stood there with his mouth open, Remus looked thoughtful and James was gingerly getting to his feet.
“How are we going to get there?” Lily asked.
“Um…how many of you guys can apparate?”
“None of us can.” Remus said.
“I know,” James cried. “We can fly!”
Lilly tutted. “James do you know how far it is to America?”
“Thousands of miles.” Faith said smiling as James’ face fell.
“She’s right, flying is a bad idea,” Lily nodded.
“Hey can’t you take us one at a time apparating?” Sirius suggested.
“Tell me Sirius have you ever apparated with four passengers thousands of miles?”
Sirius shrugged before saying quietly, “OK, so not the best idea-”
“I still think we should fly!” James cried.
“Wait,” Lily said. “That’s it, we’ll fly!”
Remus stared at her as if she were insane.
“Are you insane?” Sirius asked. “You actually agree with Prongs?”
James smiled smugly.
“No, Faith knows what I mean, we could catch an aeroplane!”
“Score one for the red-head.”
“So we’re flying then?” Remus asked.
“What’s an air-plane?” James asked.
