Harry and Hermione stepped forward.
“Sonorus,” they whispered together.
“Ladies and gentlemen-” began Hermione.
She was interrupted by five students, all wearing ragged Slytherin uniforms trudging down the aisle. One of them, a large, unintelligent looking boy, Goyle, looked confused on everything. Next to him, stood another heavy boy, a tad shorter, but a whole lot hairier, Crabbe. Behind them were two students, one boy, with platinum blonde hair and dull gray eyes, and a girl, with a face pushed in like a pug and short, choppy black hair with lifeless hazel eyes. They were Draco Malfoy and Pansy Parkinson. Bringing up the rear was a scrawny shorter boy, with limp brown hair and boring blue eyes, that was Theodore Nott.
“Professor, we have escaped the Dark Lord and of hearing of his death, we would like graduate. Sorry that we are a tad late,” announced Draco.
“Well, by all means everyone, we have five more students, all from Slytherin, Vincent Crabbe, Gregory Goyle, Draco Malfoy, Theodore Nott, and Pansy Parkinson!”
No one clapped, no one cheered, no one moved.
“Any way, back to our speeches.”
People cheered, Malfoy scowled.
“Ladies and gentlemen- wait, is anyone coming or can I continue? Okay, my name is Hermione Granger and I am Head Girl at Hogwarts. My gosh…I’m muggle-born and when I first got my letter, I was like, No way. I thought I was dreaming, I pinched myself and everything. I remember seeing all of these things that amazed me, Portkeys, boggarts, Diagon Alley, but most of all Hogwarts itself. I thought I was the only muggle-born in the entire school, so I tried, and succeeded, to be on the top. In muggle school, I was one of the best students but there it really didn’t matter, but here, when I sat on that train and realized that I was alone, I knew I had to do something. I chatted with the others, but everyone I talked to seemed to be from a magical background, so I got really scared. But as the years went by and I saw the first years terrified faces, I tried to comfort them, but I don’t think it worked to well, because afterwards they seemed even more scared of me. My Hogwarts family. The family I chose will always be in my heart. I’m going to miss this school. Thank you.”
The crowd roared like a Gryffindor lion.
“Hello, my name is Harry Potter -well I guess you really didn’t need to know that- but, I’m Head Boy and like Hermione said, Hogwarts is my home. I remember when I got my letter and I thought, “Is this just some cruel joke?”, but it wasn’t and I’m glad its not. This school is more than a school, it’s my home. I found friends, my girlfriend, my godfathers, and a lot about my parents. I’m not the sharpest tool in the shed, I know, but I really think I taught people something, and it’s not to take anything for granted. Look, I won’t lie I suck at speeches, so how about we give out some awards and then get this party started?!”
The crowd liked that idea.
“Okay, the first award, most likely to be a Qudditch star, the candidates, Draco Malfoy, Ron Weasley, Harry Potter, and Zach Smith. The winner…RON WEASLEY!!”
Ron jumped for joy and snatched the certificate out of Harry’s hand.
Hermione spoke up.
“Next is, most likely to have a personal bed in St. Mungo’s… Harry Potter and…Harry Potter, OK…Harry you won. There’s a shocker.”
The awards went on. Hermione won most likely to achieve in anything, Draco won coolest hair, Neville won most clumsy, Lavender won prettiest girl, and the Patil twins won best twins.
“Now for the final two. Cutest couple…screw the candidates, the winner…HARRY POTTER AND HERMIONE GRANGER!”
The crowd laughed, everyone saw that coming.
McGonagall took over.
“Every year I give out the best friend’s award. This year…it was a very hard choice, there were so many of you, but I think we all know who won. This is for the closest group I’ve seen since the Marauder’s, and one of them is a descendant from this legendary group. Please help me welcome the GOLDEN TRIO, HARRY POTTER, HERMIONE GRANGER, AND RON WEASLEY!”
The trio couldn’t say a word, but they didn’t have to, everyone knew how they felt.
A/N- I had some spare time so TA-DA! I have three projects, four tests, one essay, and three trips to get ready for, not to mention homework and sports!? Ay curamaba! (LOL Spanish test next week, I need to study) (:
