“Hermione!” Ginny screamed as she saw her old best friend in the doorway. Hermione didn’t have time to say anything before Ginny latched onto her and gave her a big hug.
“Hey Ginny.” Hermione said, feeling slightly uncomfortable, Ginny had gained some weight from the pregnancies but she looked like she was happy with her life.
“Come in! There are so many people that are dieing to see you!” Ginny said, practically pulling Hermione into the house and taking her coat.
Grimmauld Place was beautiful. The last time Hermione had been there, there was an umbrella holder made out of limbs and a dark dreary hallway, now there was an elegant hallway in front of Hermione. It had light brown walls with photos scattered over them. Hermione slowly walked down the hallway looking at each of the pictures. There was some of when she, Ron and Harry went to school. Hermione smiled as she looked at a picture that was taken on the day of their graduation from Hogwarts, Hermione, Harry and Ron were all wearing their Graduation gowns and they were standing under a large apple tree, with their arms around each others shoulders. They were all beaming and every few seconds, they took their pointy hats off their heads and threw it up in the air while cheering. Hermione tore her eyes away from the picture and looked at the one to the right of it; it was a picture of Harry and Ginny. It must have been recent because there were three children in front of them smiling; two of them looked about Alli and Tom’s age and the other about 7 or 8.
“Hermione, come on! Everyone’s waiting.” Ginny said, poking her head out of what Hermione supposed was the living room.
“…Ok.” Hermione said, taking a couple deep breaths . Come on Hermione, you can do this. They’re all your friends. Hermione said to herself.
Hermione took one more deep breath and walked into the room. As soon as she got into the door, she was bombarded with hugs and questions. Hermione was passed around the room for hugs and she only caught a glance at some of the people she was hugging. Mrs Weasley, Bill Weasley, Katie Bell, Lavender Brown, Remus Lupin and Tonks were some of them and the rest was a blur. The room was full of people and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. Everyone told her how much they missed her and how much she had changed. Hermione responded with thank-you’s and returned the compliment and she was getting a little tired of it all when Harry came to her rescue and told them all that dinner was ready.
Everyone walked out into the backyard talking to each other while Harry walked over to Hermione and gave her a warm brotherly hug.
“How are you?” He said, letting go.
“I thought I’d never get out of the crowd.” Hermione said, laughing slightly. Harry guided Hermione to the backyard where the Dinner was ready. The Yard was beautiful, there were two tables, a large one to hold the Adults and a smaller one to hold all of the little children. Each table had a white silk cloth over it and they were both candle lit. As everyone sat down, Hermione got to see who was there and who were couples. Starting at the far end of the table was Ginny, Fred, George and Katie Bell, Mrs Weasley, Dumbledore, Bill, Tonks and Lupin, Dean Thomas, Neville and Lavender Brown, Draco Malfoy and most of the Hogwarts staff along with one of her best friends from Healers school, Jessica. Harry sat her down near the top of the table, next to Lavender Brown, who was pregnant. As soon as she sat down, she thanked Lavender Brown for the article and they started talking about her children.
“Well, Neville and I got married about seven years ago. We were dating for about a year before that, he is just so sweet and he is a great father.”
“Which ones are yours?” Hermione asked, motioning towards the slightly smaller table with at least seven children on it.
“Well, there’s Kia who’s four, she’s the cutie with the brown hair and the pink dress on and there’s also Steven who’s six, he’s the one who’s trying to grab the fire in the candle. We also have Liam who is 12. He’ll be in his second year in Hogwarts in September.” Lavender said, smiling.
“They’re beautiful.” Hermione said, smiling.
Over the course of the meal, Hermione found a lot of good things, and bad things that had happened while she was gone. Some of the people who had died were Mr. Weasley, who died protecting the Burrow from death eaters, Charlie Weasley who was killed in the final battle after avenging his fathers death, Flur Delacour who died while giving birth, and Penelope Weasley, who was killed by a stray death eater three years ago.
It seemed like everyone now had children, Fred had his 11 year old daughter Sabrina, who was in her first year in Hogwarts, Katie Bell and George had a daughter named Annie who was six and a son named John who was 10, Bill had Ricky who was sixteen and Jacques who was 4, Lupin and Tonks had two daughters, Sophie, who was 10, and Miranda, who was 14. They also had a son named Simon, who was 14.
Everyone was happy, including Hermione. The food was great, and the reunion with everyone was even better. Hermione loved hearing about the adventures of Harry’s fatherhood and how hard it was to raise the children. At about Eight, everyone went back into the living to talk. Everyone was starting to get used to having Hermione back, but she was still pulled into random hugs every few minutes. Near the end of the night, Hermione was listening to a conversation between Fred and Neville when something caught her eye.
“Hermione, what do you think?” Fred asked, looking at Hermione’s face and noticing her staring at something intently, Fred looked in the direction that Hermione was looking at and muttered something, before walking towards what she was looking at.
Hermione vaguely heard Fred ask her something, but she was to busy trying to figure out what was happening. To the corner of the room was Harry and Draco, they seemed like they were fighting about something but not to each other, they were talking to someone who Hermione couldn’t see, it looked as though the person was trying to get in, but Hermione couldn’t see who.
Hermione’s heart stopped as she saw the person push past Harry and Draco. She only saw him for a second before they dragged him out of sight again, but there was no mistaking it. It was Ron.
“Hermione?” Neville said, looking at Hermione.
“Catch me” Hermione muttered before she fainted.
After Hermione left, Draco took a shower and got dressed into black pants and a dark green dress shirt. When he was done, he disaparrated to Potter’s house. Many people were going in and Draco said hello to most of them. By the time Hermione came in, Draco was in a conversation with Longbottom about Lord Voldemort’s fall.
Draco had to admit, the dinner was great. He was seated next to McGonagall and he talked to her for most of the time.
When the food was finished, everyone started walking back to the living room, when Harry stopped Draco.
“I need to talk to you.” Harry said quietly. He lead Draco to the far corner of the room near the door to the hallway.
“If this is about Hermione, I talked to her today.” Draco said.
“Are you Hermione’s daughters father?” Harry asked, looking Draco right into the eyes.
“Yes.” Draco said truthfully.
“How?” Harry asked, obviously confused.
“The night Hermione left, I went to her house and she accepted to take Jane from me. It was a hard choice, but it was the right one.” Draco said, looking down.
“Did you know where Hermione was this whole time?” Harry asked, anger flaring behind his eyes.
“Of course not! I-” Draco started but was stopped by someone banging at the front door.
“HERMIONE!!!” Draco heard someone scream from the other side of the door. Potter’s face went white as he heard this.
“Oh shit, that’s Ron. I told him he couldn’t come tonight because it’d be too hard on Hermione. It sounds like he’s drunk!” Harry whispered franticly.
“Come on, let’s get him out of here before she sees then!” Draco said, before walking out of the room with Harry, when they were out of the room, they ran to the door and opened it quickly. As the door opened, Ron stumbled drunkenly in.
“Hermione!” Ron slurred, walking towards the living room.
“Ron! I told you not to come here!” Harry said, walking backwards to keep Ron from the living room.
“I need to see her!” Ron said, loudly.
“No Weasley, you can’t see her today. Come back tomorrow when you sober up.” Draco said calmly, blocking the door to the living room.
“Ooooooh yeah? and what are you gooonna doooo, death eater!” Ron said, trying to push Draco out of the way.
“Ron, you need to think about this! She has a fiancé now! And kids, she won’t just come back to you because you say so.” Harry said, standing next to Draco and blocking the door.
“She was MY fiancé!” Ron said, trying to push his way through.
“Weasley, just come back tomorrow when your sober.” Draco said.
“NO!” Ron screamed, standing back a few steps before running toward the two men blocking the door. He got through for a few seconds, before Fred ran over and pushed him out of the room again.
“God Ron, what are you doing? She’s not ready to see you yet!” Fred said to Ron.
“I need to see her!” Ron said, trying to push Fred out of the way.
“No. you need to go home, I’ll take you.” Fred said, grabbing Ron by the collar and walking out of the front door with him.
“Thanks for that.” Harry said a few seconds later.
“No problem, now lets get back to the party.” Draco said, walking back to the living room.
Inside the room, the atmosphere wasn’t as happy as it was ten minutes ago, it was tense. Everyone was crowded around something in the middle of the room.
“Hermione!” Draco and Harry shouted at the same time before battleing their way to the middle of the crowd.
“What happened?” Harry said to Neville who was holding her in his arms.
“She just fainted!” Neville said, obviously getting tired.
“Here let me take her.” Draco said, taking Hermione into his arms, “Potter, show me the way to a spare bedroom.”
“This way.” Harry said, making a path to get out of the room.
Harry and Draco walked up two flights of stairs and put the unconscious Hermione into the bed. They both conjured up chairs and sat on either side of the bed.
“You don’t have to be here.” Harry said, taking hand.
“I know, but I want to be.” Draco said, taking her other hand.
“You sure have changed from the git you were in Hogwarts.” Harry said, chuckling.
“Yeah, I have. Remember that time in the 3rd year that Hermione punched me?” Draco said laughing, “I thought my nose was broken!”
“I’ve always thought that that was my best memory of my 3rd year!” Harry laughed.
Hermione woke up to the sound of laughing, she couldn’t understand where she was or why she was there, but where ever it was it sounded like the people were having a good time. As she slowly opened her eyes, she noticed a person sitting on each side of her, one had black hair and one had blonde hair. Both of their faces were red from laughing. Hermione waited a few seconds to let her eyes focus before she realized that it was Harry and Draco sitting on each side, laughing. They hadn’t noticed that she was awake so she took a few moments to think about how she got there but she couldn’t remember, and for the moment, that was fine with her. At least she could get some sleep…
Hey people, I'm sorry about the Ron thing, I donno what I was thinking haha. So for the next little while, the chapters might be updated a little slower than usual because I havn't written them yet. I'll still update as much as I can, and I promise you, I won't have huge gaps of like 2 monthes (because I really hate it when authors do that haha)
