At The Club
“Draco, stop!” Blaise groaned as he pulled on his friend’s shirt trying to pull him back to his seat. Malfoy spun around to face Blaise with an astonished look on his face.
“What the hell? Do you not remember what he did to me?” Malfoy ranted. Blaise rolled his eyes.
“For goodness sake, you should be over that by now! It was six years ago! I’m sure he regrets it now.”
“I don’t care. I wanna kill him!”
“Tough. You are not going to kill him over that. Besides, it’s about time we got heading home anyways. It’s nearly 1 AM.”
“Fine. But I will get him eventually.”
“Mmhmm, whatever. Let’s go and get Hermione and you keep your mouth shut. Don‘t even attempt to start anything up with Aaron.”
The two headed over to Hermione and Aaron, Malfoy with his eyes burning with anger and Blaise looking slightly bemused at his friend’s behaviour. As they reached Hermione, Blaise tapped her from behind on the shoulder. She turned around quickly and gave him a questioning look.
“We gotta go.” He said pointing to his watch. Hermione nodded and turned back to Aaron, who was staring intensely at her.
“Sorry Aaron, I gotta go. You’ve got my number right?” Hermione asked. Aaron nodded. He had become slightly uncomfortable now that he was in the company of his two former friends, especially since one was trying to burn a hole through his head.
“Well I’ll see you later then.” Hermione said as she began to make her way towards the exit.
“Yeah, later.” Aaron replied.
Back At The Zabini Manor
“So, I see you’ve made friends with Aaron Thorn then?” Blaise questioned as the three of them walked up one of the long corridors. Hermione turned to look at him.
“So you recognised him then?”
“Course we recognised him! He’s hard to forget.” Malfoy butted in. Hermione glared at him.
“Well, to answer your question, yes, I have made friends with him. He said he’d call me tomorrow.”
“Well be careful. I know what he’s like.” Blaise commented. Hermione shot him a glare.
“How the hell can you know what he is like. You haven’t seen him for six years!”
“Well I can tell what he is like.” Blaise tried to reason.
“Will you stop being so judgemental!” Hermione snapped as she stopped outside her bedroom door. “You’re doing my head in!” With that, she walked into her room and slammed the door behind her.
“What the hell is up with her?” Blaise asked incredulously. Malfoy shrugged.
“Girls. Who can honestly understand them?” He replied.
“Pfft, yeah.” Blaise said before heading for his bedroom.
Sunday 14th September
Hermione rolled over in her bed and looked at her alarm clock sleepily. She had just woken up from a very deep sleep. She squinted her eyes trying to read the digits on the alarm clock. She could make out a very fuzzy 11:55 AM. WHAT?!? Her mind screamed. She never slept this late. Not ever. Surely the clock was fast. She sat up in the bed and looked out of her window. Nope, the clock had to be right. The daylight was far too bright for her usual waking time. Cursing, she climbed out of the bed reluctantly, and headed over to her wardrobe. She pulled out the first outfit that came to hand. She didn’t really care what it was. It turned out to be a pair of baggy jeans and a tight fitting, white strap top. She looked at her hair in the mirror. It looked fine. It had returned to its normal ringlets. She left her room and headed for the kitchen. Like yesterday, only Malfoy was there.
“Rough night Granger?” He asked without looking up from the paper he was reading.
“Where is everyone?” Hermione asked, choosing not to answer him.
“Out. Visiting a friend of Gabrielle’s. They were gonna take you, but decided to let you have you ‘beauty sleep’ they called it. I can’t say it’s done you any good.” He said looking up and smirking. Hermione glowered at him.
“And I was left with you because…?”
“I too was sleeping. They left me a note. You think I would have stayed if I had known I would be stuck with you until 1 PM?”
“Whatever. Hey, is that letter for me?” She asked pointing to a brown envelope in the centre of the kitchen table.”
“Yeah, though I don’t know who would be writing you letters.”
“Shut up. I have more friends than you ever will.” She retorted picking up the envelope.
“Yeah right. All you have are the Weasels and Pothead.”
“I’ll have you know that nearly everyone in Gryffindor are my friends and I have many muggle friends who you never will meet.”
“Thank heavens for that.”
Hermione chose to ignore him and opened her letter. It was from Ginny.
Hey ‘Mione.
How’s you ‘family visit’ holding up then? Killed anyone yet? I hope not. Well just writing to let you know that I’m coming home early. I remember you asked me to stay with you and if the offer still stands then I’ll come. Just hope I don’t regret offering. Well write back and let me know.
Ginny x
“YES!!” Hermione shrieked whilst throwing a really hard air punch. Malfoy looked up in shock at her sudden outburst and had ‘WTF’ written all over his face.
“What in heavens are you so happy about.”
“She’s coming, she’s coming!” Hermione said in a sing song voice whilst dancing around the kitchen. Malfoy seemed very disturbed by this sudden change in personality.
“Who is?”
“GINNY! She’s coming to stay here with me until we go back!”
“You’re kidding?”
“Would I be dancing like this if I was kidding?”
Malfoy groaned and let his head hit the table. This was great. Just great!
12:30 PM
Hermione had replied to Ginny saying that she was more than happy for her to come and live the torture with her. She was now wandering around the Manor trying to find something to do. Malfoy was also off hiding somewhere, but she had no idea where. She started walking down another corridor when she heard music emerging from one of the rooms. Curious she headed towards it. The door was being propped open with a door stopper. She kicked it out of the way so she could swing the door open further for her to enter. What she saw when she entered surprised her beyond belief. Malfoy was playing acoustic guitar and hadn’t noticed her enter.
“I didn’t know you could play guitar.” She commented, almost making Malfoy jump out of his skin.
“What the hell! You can’t sneak up on people like that! You nearly gave me a heart attack!”
“So sorry!” She replied sarcastically. “I’ll just leave you and your music and be gone then.”
Malfoy glared at her. She smirked and turned back to the door to open it. She tugged at it. It didn’t open. She stared at it confused before pushing it. It still didn’t open.
“Or not.” She said meekly.
“What?” Malfoy asked annoyed.
“The door is stuck.”
“Just get out will you!”
“How can I if the door is stuck you moron?”
“How can it be stuck?” He asked angrily before getting up to attempt opening it himself.
“I know how to open a door Malfoy! It’s stuck!”
“Trust you!”
“Well I didn’t tell it to stick did I? Like I would wanna be stuck in this tiny room with you!”
“Shu-”
“Oh god!”
“What now?” Malfoy asked aggravated.
“I’m stuck here with you in such a small room! I’m gonna die!” She said dramatically.
“Oh shut up will you, I’m sure you’ll live.”
“What are we going to do?” She asked, dreading his answer.
“Wait for someone to find us.” He said shrugging. Hermione groaned. That is exactly what she didn’t want to hear.
12:45 PM
Malfoy and Hermione were sitting in opposite sides of the room in complete silence. Malfoy looked up at her. She had her head propped up by her hand and was staring aimlessly at the floor. It was now he began to realise how gorgeous she was. Although he had thought the same last night, that was when she was all dolled up. Now, she was just normal Hermione. He had never really taken the time to actually look at her properly. That sounded crazy considering he had seen her for the last six years, but it was true. He tried to shake the thoughts out of his head but he couldn’t. He turned away from here.
“Are we just gonna sit here in silence bored out of her minds or can we actually speak about something?” Hermione said suddenly. Malfoy looked at her amazed. She actually wanted to speak to him? That was crazy!
“What?” He asked stupidly.
“For goodness sakes Malfoy, as much as we hate each other, surely we can make conversation until someone finds us. Silence is so boring.”
“Yeah well, you got us locked in here so it’s your fault we’re sitting here in silence.”
“Get over it Malfoy!”
“No, I’m stuck in here absolutely starving because you decided to spy on me.”
“Spy?!? I sure as hell was not spying on you!”
“Whatever.” He replied. Hermione groaned to herself. It wasn’t so bad that she was locked in a room, but she was locked in it with the most arrogant and stubborn person she knew. How she would get through it, she had no idea.
