Chapter 8 – Potters, Presents and Peeping Toms
“OK! YOU WIN!” Sirius yelled to James. Both boys were sodden from the snowball fight they had been having for the past three hours. The pair walked back into the house and up to the bedroom they shared. Sirius whipped out his wand and dried himself magically.

“You’ll get a warning for that.” James said looking sternly at him.

“Nah, they don’t know who’s doing the magic, just where it’s being done, so since your parents are home they’ll think its them.” he shrugged smiling mischievously.

“Are you serious?” James asked standing up.

“Well if not I have no idea what you’re going to call me from now on,” he joked. (A/N – had to have a Sirius pun didn’t I?)

James rolled his eyes before magically drying himself. The two boys played exploding snap for a half hour before James let out a low whistle.

“Check out the new neighbour!” he grinned jumping up to get a better look out of the window.

Sirius jumped up after him and looked across through the window of the house next door. She was toned, really toned, and was punching a punching bag wearing her underwear. She had long-ish dark hair that was curly and tied up in a loose ponytail. They could see her singing to the music playing from a Muggle sound system.

Faith stopped punching the bag and turned to get a drink of water. She changed the song on her CD player and went to start working out again when something caught her attention. Out of the corner of her eye she could see Black and Potter ogling her through their window.

Perverts. Well if they want to watch…

She smiled to herself before starting to sing and dance to the music, shaking her head around and taking her ponytail out. There was a small knock on her door and Liam entered the room. She ran over to him and placed her hands on his chest.

“Don’t look now but, the two guys from school are looking at me through the window. Play along,” she whispered before giving her brother a small kiss on the cheek.

He rolled his eyes, smiled and then picked her up bridal style. Faith giggled as Liam twirled her around singing to the music. They stopped in front of the window and Faith was set back down. She leant in and pretended to whisper something in his ear before smiling cheekily, taking his hand and leading him away from the window.

She walked back over to the window and blew a kiss to Sirius and James, who were standing there with there mouths open, and closed the blinds.

Faith - 1 Marauders - 0.

The next morning Faith awoke at dawn. She pulled on some baggy track-pants, a tank top and a zip-up hoodie and headed down stairs.

When she entered the kitchen she found a note written in her mothers handwriting on the counter:

Faith, I have a morning shift so I won’t be back until about noon.

Faith set the note back on the counter before beginning the all-mighty search for four things: Bowl, spoon, milk and cocoa pops.

After eating breakfast She scribbled a quick not to Liam saying she was going for a jog. She left the house and started to run up the main street.

After about an hour Faith was on her way home. She had discovered a small track that cut through the block and came out at James’ house and was currently running through it. She was laughing to herself remembering the looks on their faces last night when she was hit hard on the shoulder by a snowball. She stopped dead in her tracks and looked around for the only perpetrators: James and Sirius.

She pulled out her wand and began silently performing a charm that would levitate the two by their ankles. She pointed it in every direction until she finally hit her mark. James yelled as he was pulled into the air and out from what she supposed was an invisibility cloak.

“Well, well. If it isn’t my peeping toms!” she smiled walking over to them. “Now what would you boys be doing out here?”

“Can’t talk,” James strained. “Blood rushing to brain, impairing speech.”

Faith rolled her eyes but let him down.

“Ok so we saw you!” Sirius confessed pulling the cloak off. “But we’re curious, who was that guy you were with?”

Faith let out a small laugh before answering, “That was my older brother, Liam. I saw you before I started dancing so I told him, when he entered the room, and we put on a little show for your watching eyes.”

James shook his head at her. She smiled before bending down and scooping up a handful of snow. She threw it at Sirius who looked shocked, but only for a moment. He shook his head to get the snow out and then tackled Faith to the ground pinning her down. James jumped up and began tickling her mercilessly.

“Stop! Stop! Aah!” She squealed. Sirius and James just started laughing. She managed to wriggle her arms free and push Sirius off and into a big pile of snow. She brought her hands to her shoulders and kicked herself up in a sort of flip. (A/N – again the Buffy thing, if you’ve seen them do this flip thing you will know how cool it looks)

“Wow, where’d you learn that?” James asked sounding impressed.

Faith simply smiled at him before beginning to jog up the track again. She smiled to herself as she heard the footsteps of James and Sirius running to catch up with her. She continued to run all the way to her house. She pulled out her key and unlocked the door. She stepped inside turned and slammed the door in their faces.

“Identify yourself!” Liam cried behind a toy gun.

“Agent Faith, returning from morning jog.” She smiled standing up straighter and saluting him.

He lowered his gun before asking, “Troubles with civilians?”

“Nothing I can’t handle.”

The next morning, instead of going for her jog, Faith decided to visit the lovely lads next door. She walked up the front steps and knocked on the door.

“Good morning,” said a young woman with long jagged blonde hair that was layered. She had tan-ish skin and big brown eyes. She was smiling at her.

“Hey, I’m Faith a friend of James and Sirius from school, I was wondering if I could see them.”

“They aren’t up yet but you can come in and wait if you want,” the woman smiled opening the door wider. “I’m James’ sister Miranda.”

“Nice to meet you.”

Faith was led into what appeared to be the kitchen. She watched as Miranda walked over to the fridge.

“Would you like something to eat?” she asked leaning out so Faith could see her head.

“No thanks.”

“So what part of America are you from?” Miranda asked taking a sip of the drink she had.

James awoke the next morning to find Sirius sitting next to him blowing in his ear.

“Argh! PADFOOT!” he cried lunging at his best friend.

“Geroff me you stupid arse!” Sirius yelled.

They struggled on the ground for a while before heading down stairs for sustenance.

“Argh!” James squealed as he reached the bottom and his eyes fell upon his sister Miranda and Faith looking through an old photo album. He blushed a horrible shade of red and tried to cover himself for he and Sirius were wearing nothing but boxers.

Faith let out a wolf-whistle and he turned and ran up the stairs.

Faith and Miranda laughed as James fled up the stairs. Sirius began to prance over and wrapped his arms around the shoulders of the two of them. Faith scoffed.

“How are you ladies?” Sirius asked looking between them.

“I’ve been better,” Faith said shrugging him off. He just laughed and shook his head.

“How are you Randy?” Sirius asked.

“Fine thank you Sirius.” Miranda replied giving him a nudge in the ribs.

“What’s that you’re looking at?” James asked bounding into the kitchen, fully dressed.

“Nothing much Jamsie, just baby photo’s.” Miranda smirked.

“Don’t call me Jamsie– WHAT DID YOU SAY?” he cried lunging for the photo album.

Sirius laughed and held it out of his reach. James jumped for it, Sirius threw it and Faith caught it and ran up the stairs with James on her heels. She ran into another corridor.

God this house is huge!

James grabbed her around the waist, lifting her off the ground, and she squealed and kicked her legs.

“Give-it-here!” He cried.

“Never!” she cried struggling to break free.

“James Matthew Potter what is going on?” came the stern voice, which Faith took to be Mrs. Potter’s.

James and Faith froze.

“Ah, is this the miss Evans we’ve been hearing so much about?” Mrs. Potter smiled looking expectantly at Faith.

James turned a deep shade of red and dropped Faith who landed flat on her arse.

“Ah Sarah, this is Faith. She just moved in next door and James and I know her from school,” came the voice of Sirius who had evidently been watching the whole thing.

“Oh hello dear.”

“Hi,” Faith smiled, shaking her hand. “So you know about Lily?”

“Oh yes, James talks about her quite often. I remember back in first year when he came home for Christmas-”

“MUM!” James cried before running into a nearby room and slamming the door.

“Oops I believe I’ve said too much,” Sarah Potter chuckled. “It was nice to meet you dear. Would you like to come to the new years party? Sirius and James can fill you in.”

And with that she walked back into the room she came leaving Faith there while Sirius tried to persuade James to come out form the room.

“I’m going to go back down stairs,” Faith said. Sirius nodded his head to show he heard her.

Faith entered the kitchen to find Liam flirting shamelessly with Miranda. Faith cleared her throat to make her presence known.

“Um Liam, you want something to drink?” Miranda asked.

When Miranda turned her back Liam and Faith started mouthing soundlessly to each other.

“Go away!”

“Please I like her!”

“You man whore!”

They stopped when Miranda handed Liam a drink. They stood having an argument with their eyes until James came into the room shortly followed by Sirius. Sirius, apparently not noticing Liam walked up behind Faith, rubbed her stomach before asking, “So how is the little one coming along?”

Faith looked up at Liam who was vibrating with rage looking between her and Sirius.

“Sirius, this is my older brother Liam,” she said trying to sound calm.

Sirius looked terrified his eyed fixed on Liam. Liam lunged at him but Faith blocked him and they crashed to the ground. Sirius fled out the door towards the backyard.

“Liam!” Faith cried from underneath him. “He wasn’t being serious, he was just being Sirius! He was JOKING!” (A/N – Me, and my Sirius puns hehe)

“Sorry, bad joke.”

“Firecracker, I mean it, get off.”

“NO! He was joking!”

Liam stopped struggling and Faith climbed off of him. Liam jumped to his feet and ran out the back.

“Oh no,” Faith groaned before sprinting after him.

She fell over laughing when she saw the scene before her. Liam was screaming his head off at Sirius who was in a tree.

After Liam finally calmed down and they went home Faith spent the next couple of days of awaking Sirius and James to buckets of ice or waking them so they could rise to find they were turned into women. Faith was legally allowed to do magic out of school and she could apparate because she turned 17 last July. But after a few days of pranks galore Faith found she had been dragged into Diagon Alley by Liam.

“What are we doing?” she asked for the umpteenth time.

“I told you! Special CIA training.” He winked at her and she just rolled her eyes before following him into a pub called the Leaky Cauldron.

“So how are we supposed to get into this ‘Diagon Alley’?” she asked skeptically as they walked out of the pub and into a small courtyard in the back.

“Watch,” Liam smiled at her before pulling out his wand and tapping a brick on the wall.

Faith gasped slightly as the bricks began to form an archway leading into a magnificent street with hundreds of people wandering around happily shopping and greeting fellow shoppers.

“I know, cool right?” Liam smiled acknowledging the look on Faiths face. He didn’t wait for a reply instead took her hand and led her through the jostling crowds to a shop called: Madam Malkin’s Robes for All Occasions.

“What are we doing here?” she asked as Liam pulled her through the front entrance.

“We, firecracker, are going to buy you a dress for this New Years shindig.”

“No,” she pleaded shaking her head and stopping dead in her tracks. “No way in hell.”

“Yes! You are wearing a dress and that is that.” He said simply and when she didn’t move he picked her up and carried her to a change room. “I am going to grab a couple of dresses and you are going to put them on and twirl for me or so help me I will come in and dress you my self!”

Faith groaned as he pushed her into a cubicle and then ran off. When he returned he was carrying not a couple of dresses, but eight long silky evening gowns.

He thrust them into her arms and she closed the curtains. She put on the first dress. It was a midnight blue halter-neck that had a small split in the side; It was plain satin that bunches slightly in the middle.

“I feel like an idiot!” she grumbled opening the curtain.

“You look it too,” Liam joked. She swatted him lightly on the arm but he took her hand, twirled her around and began dancing with her.

“Get off you ass,” she said.

He just poked out his tongue and twirled her back into the change room.

Faith tried on the second dress. It was pale pink with spaghetti straps and poofy at the bottom with tulle layered underneath.

“There is no way in hell that I am wearing this!” she cried dramatically stepping out from the change room. She hit Liam as he started to laugh.

“Ow! Sorry couldn’t help my self,” he sniggered.

She scoffed as she stepped back into the change room.

After hours of torture Liam had picked a dress for Faith and they bought it.

When Christmas arrived and Faith awoke to see her brother was sitting on her bed rummaging through her presents.

“Hey! Hands off!” she cried, sitting up and throwing her pillow at him. She reached down and grabbed the nearest present and began to tear off the wrappings.

At the end of the day Faith was pleased. She had gotten some hair stuff and make-up from Liam for the ball along with a small book entitled: My Life In The CIA. She had gotten a couple of CD’s, some pencils and a new Journal from her friend Georgia who lived in Boston, heaps of Zonko’s merchandise from Sirius, James and Remus, a book from Lily on Practical Defense Against the Dark Arts, chocolates and lollies from Alice and her mother had given her a diary with a small note that said:

To write out all your emotions so you don’t bottle them up.

Faith was sitting on her bed after a really long snowball fight with James, Sirius and Remus (who had came to stay until after New Years) and she was drawing a picture of Lily in her old journal from a photo she had. Lily looked as beautiful as ever with her eyes shut and her tongue poked out. Her nose was slightly crinkled and she was just so adorable.

“Wow, good likeness,” came the voice of James who, along with Sirius, was standing beside her and looking over her shoulder.

“Not as good as Prongsie over here but then again, you don’t spend every waking moment staring at the girl.” Sirius added.

“Where did you come from?” she asked slamming the book shut.

“Flew over and climbed through the window,” James stated as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.

“Of course.”

“So what’s in here?” James asked snatching the journal out of her hands.

Faith opened her mouth in protest and tried to grab it back.

“Wow Porter these are good,” he said flipping through the pages. “When did you draw this?” he asked holding up the picture of the shaggy black dog she drew by the lake.

“Start of term after detention with him,” she replied nodding towards Sirius who was looking slightly uncomfortable.

“Hmm…” James said, looking at Sirius.

Faith took the opportunity to snatch the book back.

“So what are you doing here anyways?” Faith asked placing the journal in her drawer.

“Came to see if you are coming to the new years party.”

“I am.”

“Cool, see you.”

And with that they climbed out the window and left.
