On to Little Hangleton
Harry stopped at the front door he suddenly realized he did not know where the graveyard actually was. All he knew is that he had to find it and soon.
"Harry dear I think we need to take a short recoup. I mean we need to figure out where this graveyard is and we don't want to go running all willy-nilly around the countryside. Besides, I think maybe Dumbledore can help us we just need to contact him. One of us can go back to the castle and the rest can wait here." Mrs. Weasley soothed.
Although he was annoyed by her calmness, he agreed. She volunteered to go back to the castle. Mrs. Weasley disappeared with a crack leaving the rest of the group to wait.
Harry found himself looking closer at the home he had never known. He began his investigation in what would have been his old room or nursery. He couldn't help but notice all of the nice things his parents gave him. He wished so badly right then that they were there. He was losing it and he needed them. "Why do I cause them all to leave me?" He thought. "You have to stop thinking like that Harry, We died because of Voldemort" Harry heard Sirius's voice ring in his head. Harry shook his head and turned to leave the room, but there sitting on the table next to the door (Harry had not noticed it). There was the best thing he had ever seen it was a picture of his parents, Sirius and Remus. They were watching a baby Harry wave a wand. They all laughed as a rainbow of sparks leapt from the wand. Harry actually saw himself laughing.
Harry snapped back to the world by George. "Harry do you think that the cemetery was by the Riddle house in Little Hangleton?"
Hearing these words Harry flashed to the night that Voldemort had returned to his body. He saw Cedric's lifeless body lying on the floor of the cemetery. He saw the cauldron where Wormtail had dropped the less than human form of Tom Riddle. He remembered the searing pain of the Cruciatus Curse. The lipless mouth and red slit eyes were like a constant nightmare from which Harry could not awaken. He was suddenly remembering the things around him that he had noticed. For so long he had concentrated on the events but his surroundings were just as important. It was something, as if it was sitting on the tip of his tongue. "George, I can't put my finger on it but I think you might be right. We need to go there next." George nodded and turned to leave the room. Harry started after him, but stopped turned and took the picture of the people he loved so much. With them at his side, he could find more strength.
"Remus we need to go...."
"But Mum isn't back yet!" Charlie exclaimed.
"Then you wait here for her, Hailee is in trouble and George and I have figured out our next stop. Remus we need to leave NOW!" Harry told them.
"Alright calm down Harry, where are we off to?" Remus calmly asked.
"Little Hangleton, The cemetery that Voldemort's family must be buried in."
Remus Nodded and looked to Charlie. "You wait for your mom. When she returns, you and she need to return to the castle. I will be in touch as soon as we are out of the cemetery." Remus instructed. "You both can then catch up to us then but for Hailee we must get moving and someone has to be here to intercept your Mum."
Charlie, knowing he was defeated nodded and took a seat in the living room. "Be safe. Get a hold of us as soon as possible we are stronger in greater numbers."
With that, Remus took a hold of Harry and George. "Best we stick together." and they disappeared with a crack. As soon as he felt, the compression on his chest Harry was not sure he wanted to go back to the place he saw Cedric die and Voldemort return. In the long run Harry knew in his heart it would be like a shot, Painful at first but after it would be all for the best.
They apparated to the ruins of the Riddle estate. "Now let's look to see if we can find a cemetery." With out knowing where he was going Harry started to walk. He was being drawn down a dark street.
"Where are you going?" Remus asked.
"I don't know." Harry answered plainly.
Soon they had walked into a country lane. Harry noted the hedges. They passed a clearing. Harry looked out across it and noticed the huge mansion on the hill across the way. Between them Harry saw it what had been on the tip of his tongue back when George first brought up the cemetery, church steeples. "There! We must go there." Harry started to run.
George followed close behind, but Remus yelled, "Slow down." Only then did Harry realize that he was leaving Remus too far behind.
"Hurry Remus, they have her." Both Harry and George slowed to wait for Remus.
Soon, sooner that Harry would have thought they walked up to a wrought iron fence. They could see tombstones all lined up in a row. "The gate it is over there I see it." George exclaimed. With those words, they all started to run.
Walking thru the gate Harry felt that pull again. He dreaded it. He knew what he was going to see soon, the sights that had haunted him for a year now. His scar tingled; they were close.
Harry saw it the headstone, on the other side, he knew it would don the words Tom Riddle. "Over here!" Harry called to the others. He approached the stone slowly, almost reluctantly. As Harry rounded on the stone, he saw sitting there none other than Nagini.
He hissed to Harry. Remus and George had just come around the corner to stop dead when they saw Nagini. "Onsssse again my masssster hasss forssssseen your arrival. You are to read the sssssstone dear Potter. Only then will you find your next clue, but I mussssst ssssssay that the Dark Lord isssss becoming quite fond of Missssss Potter. Moreover, you may be looking in vain. "
All George and Remus heard was "AVADA KEDAVRA!" and the green flash erupt from Harry's raise wand. They looked to the foot of the stone and saw the lifeless body of Nagini laying there. Harry then yelled "MERLIN!"
The phoenix arrived with a flash. "May I Please?" He asked.
Knowing what he wanted Merlin turned around and allowed Harry to remove a tail feather. Harry stabbed the quill portion into the snake and said "Voldemort." The snake disappeared with a flaming pop. Only then did Harry look to the stone. Etched into the marble was a poem of sorts.
Look to your core
Far you are from home
Unwilling to be able
To use ancient magic
Open to me you will be
For your eyes of emerald
No longer, make you rare
You cannot save
What has erupted
The people who care
I will not riddle
I am sworn evil
Your legacy lost in time
"What the bloody hell does that mean?" George asked.
"I'm not sure." Remus replied.
"What have I done? This is not happening. It doesn’t make sense maybe it isn’t the clue." Harry worried aloud.
"No it has to be. Look." Remus pointed at the Dark Mark carved into the bottom of the jumbled poem.
"OK heads together. Let get this copied and head back to Hogwarts. We need help with this clue." Harry and George nodded at Remus, but neither wanted to leave the hunt for Hailee.
Remus laid his hand on both of them and they disappeared with a crack. Harry fell to his knees at the gate of Hogwarts. The pain seared through his scar. Voldemort was mad his beloved Nagini was dead. Harry felt it he knew he had laid the gauntlet and it had baited Voldemort into action!
