A/N: I'm not quite sure where I'm going with this story, it's eventually going to involve a romance between two original characters of mine. Hope you enjoy it and let me know what you thing so far.
Snape stared at Dumbledore with concern as he walked into the room and sat down. Ever since the death of Harry Potter, the headmaster had become exhausted, weakened and virtually hopeless. In fact, the entire magical world had become void of any happiness since the sudden death of the boy who had once lived. Voldemort is becoming increasingly stronger since he defeated the one who had destroyed his rise to power nearly fifteen years ago, and he showed no signs of slowing down. It wasn’t uncommon for the Daily Prophet to report at least five new deaths every morning and people were simply waiting for their time to come. Snape would never admit it to anyone but he was scared, terrified actually. Despite the fact he did not see eye to eye with Harry, he still believed that the boy would fulfill the prophecy and triumph over Voldemort in the end. So when he didn’t, everyone was left, lost and confused having put all their hope into a young boy who showed so much potential, it was impossible to prepare for his failure to be victorious.
The Order put together several other plans to defeat the Dark Lord, yet they only resulted in many casualties, sorrow, and grief. Thus, even the Order had become hopeless and their meetings that had once been filled with passion and a will to fight were now simply turning into discussions about the inevitability of their destruction.
Yes, the once fearless individuals of the wizarding world had descended into a hopeless darkness; but, little did they know, that a light resided in the heart of an innocent girl whose extraordinary powers they had completely overlooked
