“Students! For some reason or other, your new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor has gone missing. This is intolerable. But we are expecting that this is just a case of nerves and that she will be back in a few days.” Umbridge announced on the morning of October 22. Ron was very worried about whatever may have happened to Tonks
All other classes resumed as normal, Harry was still missing. The group that had met the night before came back together to discuss the matter.
“That’s really too bad.” Julia said. “He seemed really nice! But he had that strange pink streak in his hair.”
Neville stared to talk. “I think it was Tonks.”
“You’re right. We met with her. She said she was excited about something, but she wouldn’t tell Ron and myself what it was.”
“Whoa!” Alexis interrupted. “So this dude was a dudette?”
“Yep.” Ron said.
Julia looked somewhat depressed “And now she won’t be able to be so happy! I wonder who took her?”
Hermione said, “Good question, it obviously has something to do with Harry, who ever took Tonks must be holding her captive as a threat to Harry.”
“So it was those Evil Kidnapping Warplebees?” Luna asked, speaking up for the first time.
Neville, who was sitting to Luna’s right moved over a bit. Ron thought it was kind of funny.
“Uuummm…I don’t know how to tell you this, Luna, but there is no such thing as Evil Kidnapping Warplebees.” Julia ventured.
“That is just a myth,” Luna said reassuringly, “Daddy had a whole article about it in the Quibbler!”
“I hate to break it to you, but just because your Dad read about it in the Quibbler, doesn’t mean it’s true. Luna, that magazine is just a tabloid; you should cancel your subscription. The people who write that junk are total nut cases!”
Luna looked highly offended, “We can’t cancel our subscription, my Dad is editor of the Quibbler.”
Julia blushed, “Sorry, I didn’t mean to ummm….”
“It’s okay,” Luna said, “Happens all the time.”
Hermione cleared her throat, “Can we please get back to the reason we had a meeting in the first place?” she had been taking notes and looked to see what everyone’s opinion was. She had it all done except for Ginny.
She looked to see where Ginny was, Ginny had been there and was gone now. Ron realized what was happening and took action, “Does anyone know where Ginny went?” No one said anything. Ron began to panic. “Julia, Alexis, and Neville, go search the great hall, the library, and the grounds. Luna, go check the Gryffindor common room, our password is Wolfsbane. Hermione, you and me will patrol the halls under the Invisibility Cloak.
Everyone went his or her separate ways. Ron and Hermione were the last ones out of the room of requirement. On their way back to the Gryffindor tower, they ran into professor McGonagall. “I have some very bad news to report,” she whispered, “Remus is also absent!”
