AN: Okay, so basically this is two characters you know nothing about. But, I still really like the story, and eventually, one day, you will know Arrian and Kristy. FYI I can tell you that Kristy is Ammie’s daughter, for what that’s worth to you :-P

~Arrian and Kristy~

One hour. They had one hour before they charged into what very well could be their last battle. Arrian and Kristy sat alone in one of the dark upstairs rooms of number twelve Grimwald’s Place. Kristy was currently huddled in a ball on Arrian’s lap as he sat on the hardwood floor his back pressed firmly to the wall. She was crying. She was crying with her face against his chest, her tears staining the white cotton of his button up of dress shirt, and there wasn’t a damn thing he could do about it. Arrian closed his eyes with a heavy sigh, tightening his grip on the girl. He wished he could make her promises of victory, and promise of the future, but he knew that was beyond his control, and he refused to lie to her.

“I’m sorry,” Kristy whispered trying to calm her tears. Arrian looked down on the top of her head.

“For what?” he asked. He could feel Kristy’s body shaking against him.

“For crying,” she answered meekly, “For being so afraid.” Arrian could understand her fear. There was a very real chance that none of them were going to make it out of this alive. He sighed again and shifted her, forcing her stormy gray blue eyes to meet his own dark brown orbs.

“It’s alright Kristy.” He kissed her forehead, and then rested his head atop her own. They sat in silence then, her tears were no more, because she’d cried herself out.

When Arrian could no longer handle the deafening silence, he broke it, his deep voice seeming to fill the entire room at once.

“Kristy I want you to know something,” he said lacing her finger with his own. “And you need to just listen to me for now, please just don’t interrupt me until I’m done alright?” Kristy nodded, her body tensing in anticipation of his words. “I love you, and I know I have never, nor will I ever be able to say that enough. I have no idea what’s going to happen out there, and I won’t fill your imagination with empty promises.” Arrian had to stop as he felt a salty tear slip from his eye. He was thankful for the darkness then, hoping that she wouldn’t have to see the fear on his face as well. With a deep breath he pushed on.

“But I want you to know this. No matter what happens out there I will always love you. I’m not going to let them hurt you, because I could never live in a world with out you. As long as there is breath in my body I’m going to protect you.” Arrian couldn’t help the tears that fell from his eyes and onto her lap. Kristy laughed, trying to cover up another sob that had taken over her body. She reached her pale hand up to brush the tears from Arrian closed eyes.

“I love you too you know,” she whispered. Arrian opened his eyes and locked them on hers. A small smile took over his lips and he found himself laughing as well. They were laughing in the face of death, but they were doing it together.

“Hey,” he said as he leaned in to close the distance between their lips, “If we both make it through this, would you do something for me?” Pressing his lips to hers he didn’t give time to finish. Kristy laughed again when she pulled away a minute later.

“Anything.”

Arrian slipped his hand into his pocket, pulling out a platinum ring with a diamond in the center and two rubies on either side, it was the traditional ring of his court.

“Marry me?” Kristy laughed again as more tears filled her eyes. Arrian gently slid the ring on to her left finger.

“I think I can mange that, yeah.”

AN: I’m sorry for leaving you completely clueless. I’d still like it if you reviewed.
