Andromeda flung herself behind a green vase to avoid an orange spell that James had sent at her she took a deep breath and pealed off her black boots. Maybe she should have stayed in the shorts and tee-shirt.
They had been fight now for a half an hour and had broken numerous objects around the house. This time James was going to help her clean up.
She took a deep breath and lunged out from behind the vase shouting another hex at James he leapt out of the way and it hit a window.
Andromeda’s eye’s widened as she saw that she was going to land on a field of glass. She closed her eyes and covered her heart and head with her hands. She was going to die, the thought struck her like the shards of glass that was about to stab her. Her body tensed then she hit the ground with a scream.
She had half hoped for James to save her. All of the Gryffindor chivalry she had expected to kick in even though they were enemies. But it didn’t, that much.
When she hit the ground she rolled over a clean floor over to where James stood. She lay there shaking at her enemies’ feet. In a bit of shock, she just lay their shaking at the fact that she could have died and at the fact that James had saved her, in a twisted way of his.
She felt a hand grab her arm and pull her up to her feet. Her knees started to give way and the same hands cough her and steadied her. She looked up into the face of James Potter both of them where shocked at what the other had done and at what they themselves had done in return.
Andromeda was the first to recover “Thanks Potter” she whispered “now would you mid letting go of my arm?”
He quickly let go it “Are you okay? You seemed a bit in shock” he said gaining his voice.
“Yeh I’m fine” she said grabbing her arm and looking down
“This won’t change anything” he said moving away from her to repair a chest they had banged to a splinter.
She snapped out of it to “Just like a Gryffindor helping out their opponent when they shouldn’t” she sneered at him and moved to a mosaic farther up the hall.
“JUST like a Gryffindor, I practically saved you life!” he yelled at her.
“I was doing fine by myself” she snapped back.
“Fine by your self! Oh and I suppose that big shard that would have hit your heart was just part of your plan!” he said walking up to her his voice getting very high.
“I was about to put a disappearing charm on it” she said storming up to him to.
“Oh yeah! Since when was their such a thing as a disappearing charm!” he said as he got face to face with her for the second time today.
“Since Now!” she said sending a hex at him.
“Don’t you start that up again” he growled grabbing on to her wand and taking it way.
“You did not just take my wand!” she said starting to vibrate with anger.
James leaned for was a smug smile on his face “Ya, I did”
Andromeda leapt onto him reaching for her wand, James backed up a bit so they ended up in a hug like position where James had his arms raped around her to stop her from attacking him more while she clawed at his back. He yelped but didn’t let go.
“LET ME GO, POTTER!” she hissed near his ear making him shiver. They had to be quite because they were now in front of her fathers study.
“Not until you promise to not attack me!” he hissed back turning his head to look at her.
“Not until you give me my wand!” she said turning hers.
They stood their glaring at each other until the door opened and two un-expecting fathers stepped into the scene.
For a minute no on moved, but then Draco started to vibrate a bit, showing that he was angry but his features stayed calm.
“Please explain to me Mister Potter, (both Potters looked at him) James. Why you are holding my daughter in such a way?” he cocked an eye at his daughter as he spoke.
They both released each other and James took a step back handing Andromeda her wand. Everyone was dead silent, with both fathers staring holes into their children, and both children shifting around looking at anything but the other people in the hall.
“James fire place, NOW!” said Harry Grinding his teeth.
After the Potters had flooed home Draco turned to his Daughter “Ange what did you do!” he said with an exasperated parent note in his voice.
“Nothing we had a nice convocation but then he took my wand and being a Potter, and he wouldn’t give it back so I lunged at him and that’s were you came in” she said.
“So you where locked in mortal combat with him again and he saved your life practically so you started to clean thing up then you had your side of the story after”
“Wow you are good” Andromeda said as she walked back to the staircase with her dad.
“I shale tell you the secret” he said as the reached the staircase “houseelfs have great hearing”.
She laughed and jokingly punched him in the shoulder, before heading up to her room to get striated up and owlel Madison about the occasion.
That night Andromeda dreamed…….
She was sitting at a diner booth with her mother. They were both laughing and joking. Her mother was where a black shirt with a big amulet around her neck her brown curly bouncing loosely around her shoulders.
The amulet was shaped oddly; the out side of it was a green serpent out of the snake came phoenix claws that locked into a clear gem that rested in the center. The amulet was about as big as Andromeda’s fist and hung from a leather band.
It flashed in the light of the diner as her mother leaned back into the booth laughing so hard that tears escaped her eyes.
“So tell me what where your father and Harry doing at the time” her mother said brown hair falling back ageist her as she tried to calm herself.
“I don’t know I haven’t have the courage to see what’s become of his study yet until the maid says it’s been cleaned of rubble!” said Andromeda taking a sip of the butter bear that rested on the table in front of her. They both started laughing.
“So what do you think of this James boy” her mother said giving her a questioning look.
“Well he’s arrogant, just like any other Gryffindor” she said causing her mother to put her hand on her chest in mock concern her moth open in a hurt expression.
“Well the Gryffindor’s today are the one’s tormenting us from Slitheren” her mother gave her a funny look.
“You know since the war and all they think we’re all death eaters, even though you’re my mother and all they still aren’t to nice, well half of them anyway” she finished looking into her mothers eyes.
“So this James” her mother said a smile playing on her lips “you think him handsome”
“MOM” Andromeda said mimicking her mom’s offended look “I so do not!”
“Ah but then why did you let him hold you like that” she said smiling as the color drained from her daughters face.
“I did not we were fighting, and besides were mortal enemies” Andromeda said crossing her arms and looking away from her mom.
Her mother laughed at that “It’s happened before Ange”.
Suddenly Andromeda stopped glaring at her mom and asked her “Why did you leave us mom?”
Her mother stared at her, laughter gone from her eyes “I can not tell you” she looked down into her lap as she spoke “I couldn’t let you get involved in the curse, I had to protect you!” she said grabbing her daughters hand a tear escaping her eye.
“Protect me?” Andromeda said “the war is over why do I need protecting!”
“There are worst things than war dearest” her mother whispered “I need you to help me; you are now old enough to know!”
She reached for the amulet but then stopped. A blinding light emitted from its center setting the room ablaze with a bright light.
“Andromeda I need you to find the Phoenix feather in the place were the tomb blooms every night!” he mom said as the light became brighter “it will let you find me”
“MOM!” Andromeda yelled. But it was two late.
