Leilani Nakamura was definitely NOT looking forward to another year at Hogwarts. For goodness sakes the way her 6 years had fallen into a repetitive schedule just drove her mad! She’d never had a boyfriend but had too many boy friends to count. The absence of a boyfriend was not because she wasn’t attractive or because boys didn’t like her. It was simply because she was waiting for that perfect boy to ask her out. Honestly? Lani didn’t care about her looks. She was beautiful with her long, straight, dark-brown tresses, her slightly tilted brown orbs that seemed to draw you in, and her exceptionally fit body. After all she was a Quidditch girl through and through, but she down-played her looks. Her muggle clothing consisted of t-shirts, tank tops, jeans, and sweatshirts. Ok so it wasn’t as bad as it sounds. Her shirts fitted her tightly and her jeans hugged every curve but she hid her body under 2 sizes to big sweatshirts that just consumed her small frame. Her friends were desperately trying to get her to ditch the sweatshirts that she wore because face it. She had a figure to die for because she played Quidditch so much.
“LANI!!!! YOU’RE GOING TO BE LATE!! GET A MOVE ON!!” yelled her mother.
Oi cant she just calm down for goodness sake I was enjoying the silence. “COMING MOM!”
Lani walked over to her walk-in closet and decided on what to wear.
Well im only going to be in these clothes for a little while before I changed into my robes…
Lani took her favorite jeans from Hollister off the hanger and took a wife-beater out of her drawer. Her jeans were a lighter blue and had the ‘destroyed’ look to them; they fit rather low on her hips and followed every curve of her backside and legs.
Wife-beater…gah what an awful name for an undershirt.
She decided that she was feeling a bit risqué and wanting to impress him she decided on wearing her favorite black lacy bra and thong set. after all white shirts are rather see-through(now now don’t get any ideas)
As she stared into the mirror lani decided that one thing was missing with her outfit. Make-up. She only had to apply a little since she had nearly flawless skin but she loved to make her eyes stand out since she felt that that was the only attractive part of her. She put on some greenish eye shadow and did the ‘smoky’ look with some gold, sparkly eye shadow and applied her mascara. She looked into the mirror again, nodded in approval, grabbed her favorite black hoodie with the surf logo on the back and hibiscus flowers running down one arm and grabbed her trunk full of her magic supplies that she had recently gotten from Diagon Alley since she was running low from the previous year and of course her clothes. As she made her way down the stairs she heard a *hoot* “AH Kai!! How could I forget her!!” Lani ran back up the stairs to collect her owl Kai who was a brown barn owl but had the blue eyes that resembled the waves she loved to surf hence giving her owl a name that meant wave in Hawaiian.
“Ok Lani your father had filled up your car with gas and here is your toast for the road. I love you very much, have fun, and of course good luck.”
Sometimes Lani just loved her mom. She knew exactly how to keep a conversation short but still have meaning. (She hated those conversations that just dragged on and on and on)
“Love you too mom and thanks!” said Lani giving her mom a hug. Then she ran over to her dad and said, “Love ya pops!” he laughed and gave her a hug. “Have fun at Hogwarts dear and remember…” “Dad I know! No boys.” Lani and her mother shared a laugh and her father smiled knowing her was being only slightly over-protective of his daughter.
“See you at the end of term!” Lani bounded out the door and was just about to open the garage when her dad yelled her name. “LANI!”
O brother I didn’t do anything wrong did i?
“I took the liberty of going to Gringotts yesterday and I got you some extra money for Hogsmeade. I hope you have lots of fun in your final year and I wish you the best of luck with any and all challenges that you may face.” “Thanks dad!!” Lani said as he handed her a full money-bag she then proceeded to give her dad another hug.
Finally the road trip is about to begin!
Lani loved her car to death. Even though her family was purebloods they still felt the need for some muggle items in their lives such as cars, televisions, and of course cell phones. Sometimes sticking your head in a fire place to talk got annoying and one didn’t always have the time to floo or apparate to friends for a quick chat. Her parents had bought her a midnight blue X-terra for her 16th birthday over the summer and she was finally getting to drive it a bit further than a friends or the movies and she was thrilled even though it was only King’s Cross station where she had to leave her baby in the parking lot while she was at Hogwarts until the end of term.
“AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! DAMMIT BLAISE!!”
Lani had completely forgotten that the previous night she, Draco, Blaise, Shannon, Kalani, and Christine had gone to a Quidditch match and on the way home had blasted music on the way home. Apparently Blaise forgot to take out his mix and turn down the volume because it blasted really loud in her car when she turned on the ignition, which was quite the rude awakening since she had only opened her eyes about a half hour ago.
Her friends were all Slytherins, purebloods, and were some of the nicest people she knew. Shannon was a tall willowy blonde at around 5’7 who when she was acting herself had a very sunny demeanor and loved to laugh. Though, unfortunately, since she had to make herself the typical Slytherin she wore a constant look of boredom upon her lovely features which included light green eyes, and full pink lips which looked much better smiling. Christine was another character all together she had raven hair which fell a little past her shoulder blades and was about 5’5, making Lani the shortest of the girls at 5’3, she was a crazy girl who talked almost to much, loved to make people laugh, and was one of the most happy people when she was acting herself. When she was putting up her façade she became quite mean. Did I mention she was a wonderful actress?? Blaise who was the boyfriend of Shannon was about 5’11, and was rather quiet. Don’t get the wrong impression though. He was probably one of the nicest people one could meet but he was just…reserved. His Slytherin costume was having an expression and attitude of ‘you are beneath me and not worthy of my time.’ Kalani was Lani’s cousin. The son of Lani’s mom’s sister and they were so close they thought it would be cute if both their kids named ended with –lani much to their childrens complaints. (the Hawaiian names because the mothers were both of Hawaiian heritage). Lani’s father was Japanese along with Kay’s dad. Kalani goes by Kay and Leilani by Lani so they didnt have to hear the constant rhyming. Kay was approximately 6’0. He wore his wavy dark hair longer so it fell into his eyes. By the way which most of the girls at Hogwarts just adored because it gave him such a mysterious quality. Kay was the definition of a mature teenager. He was polite, courteous, reserved, and completely gorgeous to boot. He didn’t really have to put up a fake personality he just had to not be polite to those that “weren’t worthy” must to his dislike. Draco was, to be blunt, hot. He had the blue eyes which Lani adored, blond hair which he now wore loose and longer, and he had packed on some muscle over the years. He was about 6'2 and played Quidditch along with the other boys so he (and the other guys) had physiques girls dreamed of and guys envied. Draco played Chaser with Blaise, Kay was the Slytherin Keeper and little Lani was the seeker. Shannon and Christine enjoyed Quidditch but weren’t attracted to the aggressiveness of the sport so didn’t wish to become apart of the team.
As she was driving down the freeway to get to King’s Cross she remembered her reflection in the mirror. She just didn’t see what her friends told her was there. Lani felt that she wasn’t pretty at all. She would admit that her eyes were pretty awesome with their dark brown color that seemed to glow with gold specks and people told her that her eyes were just so entrancing because they seemed to always be holding a secret.
Oi lani just concentrate on the road. The sooner we get to the platform the sooner this year gets started.
Don’t take wrong but lani just wasn’t happy. She desperately wanted him to finally notice her. But she knew it wasn’t possible with that stupid Pansy bitch always hanging on him. Draco assured her that he hated the ‘slut’ but lani wasn’t one for confrontation and she just wasn’t willing to get in a fight with pansy. That’s where lani and her friends didn’t fit the traditional Slytherin model. Even though they were all the children of death eaters they all put on a front. Their parents acted nasty to the world but to their kids and to each other they were caring, nice people. But to keep their children safe they joined with He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named in order to keep their family together and alive.
When she arrived in the parking lot and unloaded her car she was about to pick up her trunk when a pair of strong arms encircled her waist Lani turned around and looked into those blue eyes. The blue eyes that reminded her of the oceans. A shiver ran down her spine and her knees seemed to melt. It was Draco.
Why does he tease me like this!

“Hey lani how ya doing? Let me take your trunk for you.”
“Im doing all right and thanks! So where’s the rest of the gang?”
“Well Blaise and Shannon are doing the lovey-dovey thing and I’ll just let you guess what Kay is doing with Christine.” Draco said smiling
“000000 I can guess this one. Christine is talking a mile a minute telling him about her summer and being completely oblivious to the way Kay is staring at her like she’s made of cotton candy.” Lani said laughing her head off with the scene playing in her mind.
“Of course you are right my lady” Draco laughed with a bow
“o shut up Draco you know how much I hate being called the Slytherin Princess just as much as you hate being called the Slytherin Prince/ Sex God.”
“I know I know but we have to keep up pretenses Lani. The dark lord cannot find out our true personalities. Its better that you are the ‘Bitchy Slytherin Princess’ and me the ‘Conceited Slytherin Prince’.
“Draco I hate having people hate me! I just…just can’t stand it. And I just can’t understand why we have to hate muggleborns so much! Look at Hermione! She’s brilliant at magic, and beautiful to boot. I just don’t get it.”
“Come here lani.” Putting his arm around her sagging shoulders he threw her trunk over his shoulder (his was already on the Hogwarts Express) and led her to platform 9 ¾. Together they walked through the barrier and he directed her to a compartment in the back.
“Lani I have to leave you for a while but I will come find you later” Draco said with a hint of sadness in his voice.
When he said that it reminded Lani that she had to go to the Head’s compartment, since she had been given the honor of being head girl for her final year.
“Oh Draco I almost forgot I have to go to the Head’s compartment because I’m head girl”
After she said that to her surprise Draco looked at her with shock, then extreme delight.
“hahhaha lani! im head boy!!”
Lani looked at Draco with surprise and then realized. Oh no I’m sharing a dormitory with Draco…how the hell am I supposed to control my feeling now!!! Every time she was alone with him she had daydreams of him pushing her against a wall and passionately kissing her senseless. How every time she saw or even thought of his toned body, blue eyes, and soft blond hair her knees went weak.
If only she knew that the same thoughts were pouring through Draco at the same moment.
**Draco’s POV**
Oh Merlin she’s gotten even more beautiful this year. I just wish…no! I’m not going to let my feelings get in the way of this friendship that we’ve built together. She just doesn’t have the same feelings for you as you do for her.
He watched her as she stepped out of her SUV and then she did the one thing that made Draco’s mouth drop to the floor. She took the rubber band that held her hair in a messy bun atop her head out and her dark brown hair that held auburn accents to it from the summer sun cascaded down her back the sunlight glinting off her long hair. Then she did the unthinkable. She did the 2nd thing that Draco loved as any guy would. She stretched. Merlin! Thought Draco Quidditch has done her well. She had a small frame but had the curves to make any guys mouth water. Her waist was tiny, her abdomen long and flat, with long, trim legs.
*skip to the train* Oh dear Merlin. She is the head girl. I’m head boy. Meaning. O dear Merlin. We are going to be sharing a dormitory. Dear Merlin I’m going to be seeing her practically every hour of the term. How the hell am I supposed to keep my hands off of her!! I was counting on the possibility of not seeing her all the time.
*as if ,he told himself, you are basically best friends and the fact that you couldn’t stand not seeing her every moment possible would make it impossible for you to stay away*
**skip to Hogwarts**
I would like to welcome you to another year at Hogwarts….
Yada yada yada can Dumbledore please hurry! I’m starving!!
Lani felt someone poking her on the shoulder so she looked to her left. Draco was desperately motioning to her to please come and sit between him and Pansy. She was quite used to this routine since pansy was always making a pest of herself hanging onto Draco at every moment of everyday. So they came up with a routine. Lani would come and sandwich herself between them apologizing to Pansy saying that “I really need to talk to Draco” or just pretending to being oblivious to the fact that pansy was sitting there and ignoring her.
“Thanks much lani she was starting to move her hand up and down my thigh.” Draco whispered with a disgusted look on his face.
“Its…ok…any…thing…for….you” lani managed to get out in between laughs.
Draco teasingly hit her in the arm and as lani said “OWW!!” Dumbledore said….
“…our Head Boy and Head Girl Draco Malfoy and Leilani Nakamura!”
Applause followed and Draco and Lani recovered as best as possible by putting the customary smirks on their faces and standing up to receive Dumbledore’s congratulations with a bow.
