“Okay Harry let me get this straight” said Ron after Harry explained everything that had happened. “You’re saying that your daughter is alive, and you just met her?”
“That’s right” Harry responded while comforting the still sobbing Hermione. He could see disbelief on Ron’s face and on everyone else’s. “I know it sounds unbelievable but it’s true, she didn’t die that night, someone must have found her before the ministry could and taken her. In fact, she had apparently been told that we died.”
Everyone was silent as the whole thing started to sink in, then Ginny piped up “A-Are you sure it was her Harry, and not just someone who might have looked like her.”
“Ginny, it was her, she had the locket we gave her when she was a baby, there’s no way it couldn’t have been her.”
Suddenly, three people enter threw the back door, nobody paid any attention to them until Angela shouted out “Hi Claudia”
As they walked, Claudia tried hard not to stare at Gerard, she was starting to think that maybe she really had seen him before; she had been all over the world, so she assumed it was possible. Gerard, who had been staring ahead the whole time suddenly, looked right at her. “What are you staring at?” he asked.
Claudia immediately turned her head while Lucy snickered in back of them. “Nothing” Claudia answered.
“Do you just think I’m hot?” he asked grinning.
“No” Claudia said.
“Then why were you staring at me?”
“I wasn’t” she said a little louder.
“Yeah you were, I saw you, you were looking right at me”
“No I wasn’t” she said again.
“Actually I think you were” Lucy piped in.
Claudia looked back at her “Thank you, but I wasn’t”
Gerard shrugged, “Okay Claudia, whatever you say”
They didn’t talk again until they reached the back door of the pub. “By the way,” Lucy began as they walked into the dimly lit room, “Who are you parents, you didn’t tell us”
Before Claudia could say anything, a little voice rang out from across the room, at a very crowded table, “Hey Claudia”
The people at the table turned around, Claudia didn’t recognize anyone except Angela, Harry, and Hermione, but everyone else there seemed shocked to see her.
“That you family?” Lucy asked, pointing at them.
Claudia hesitated at first, then said, “Yeah, that’s them.”
Just like before, Hermione immediately ran right up to her and began to hug her still crying, Lucy and Gerard both looked confused at this. Harry ran over and tried to pull Hermione off of Claudia. Lucy jaw dropped when she saw Harry, “Is he your father?’ she asked Claudia, who was still being hugged by Hermione.
“Yes” she managed to choke out.
Lucy gasped, Gerard just looked stunned, “Wait a minute, you’re father is Harry Potter, but, that means that you’re Claudia Potter.” Lucy said, “They said you were killed when you were a baby by you-know-who”
“Well, I wasn’t” Claudia said, she had no idea who ‘you-know-who’ was, but then she remembered Harry saying something about defeating an evil wizard and figured that’s what she meant.
Harry finally managed to pull Hermione of her as a bunch of people, most with red hair, came over, all staring at Claudia. “Um Claudia, these are our friends” Harry said, her then proceeded to introduce her to them all. Then he noticed Gerard and Lucy and smiled. “I uh…I see you’re made some new friends.”
“Yeah, uh…I’m Gerard Martin and this is my step-sister Lucy Kelley” Gerard said shaking Harry’s hand.
“It’s an honor to meet you Mr. Potter” said Lucy a little shakily.
Suddenly, a strange beeping sound filled the air. Everyone looked around to try and see were it was coming from. Claudia then reached into her pocket and pulled out a cell phone. “Sorry, that’s me” she said and flipped the phone open and brought it to her ear.
“Hello?” she said.
“Claudia, where have you been? You said you were going for a walk about two hours ago, what’s going on?” said the voice on the phone.
“Lydia I’m fine, and if I told what’s been happening in the last few hours, you’d never believe me” Claudia answered.
“Sure I would, we’ve been friends for years, and I know you well enough to know you’d never lie to me, so I ask again, what’s going on?”
Claudia sighed and said quietly, “I met my parents”
Lydia didn’t answer, Claudia thought she hung up but she could still hear her breathing. “Uh, Claudia, I think we may have a bad connection, because it sounded like you said you found your parents.”
“I did” Claudia answered shortly.
“WHAT? That’s insane, Claudia, I think you’re forgetting something We don’t have parents Nobody at the agency does or else we wouldn’t be there, you know that.”
“Yes I do know that, but I guess they made a mistake with me because I’m standing right in front of my parents”
“This is unbelievable” Lydia said, “Oh, hold on, Liam’s here, he wants to talk to you”
“Okay fine” Claudia said.
She few seconds later, Liam’s voice came on. “Hey Claudia, glad to hear that you’re okay, but what’s this about you meeting you’re parents, aren’t they dead?”
“That’s what I thought, and apparently, they thought I was dead.”
“Hold on, let me put you on speaker” Liam said.
Soon Lydia’s voice was heard, “Claudia are sure they’re you’re parents, they could be enemy agents trying to trick you.”
“She’s got a point Claudia” Liam said.
Claudia looked up at the Harry and Hermione for a minute “I doubt it, they don’t seem the type” she said truthfully.
“Okay if you’re sure, any other crazy news you want to tell us?” Lydia asked.
As a matter of fact, there was, but Claudia didn’t know if she should tell them, trying to convince them that her parents were alive was one thing, but try to convince them that her family were wizards, and she was a witch, and there was this whole magical world that they didn’t know about was an entirely different thing, but in the end, she figured she’d better just tell them now. She took a deep breath, “Yeah there is one other thing, you see, as it turns out” she paused for a second then continued, “I’m a-
She was cut of by the beeping sound that indicated that she had another call. Sighing, she said “Guys I got to take this, hold on”
She pushed a button and said “Hello?”
A familiar deep voice came on the other end, “Claudia I have urgent news” it said.
Claudia’s eyes widened, she did not expect Dunsworth to call her. “What is it?” she asked.
“Well, I was going to discuss this with you at our meeting on the 16th, but its best we discuss it now, and it can’t wait.” He said.
Claudia figured that something must be very wrong, and she was right. “What’s going on?” she asked.
“Well, it seems that we’ve discovered a mole in our organization” he said.
“What, another mole?” she asked.
“That’s right we discovered this about two weeks ago”
“Who is it?” Claudia asked.
“That’s what I want you to find out, and when you do, take him out”
“Yes sir” Claudia said. She heard the clicking sound that indicated Dunsworth had hung up, then she went back on with Lydia and Liam.
“Who was that?” Lydia asked sounding curious.
“Are you two alone?” Claudia asked knowing that it was a bad idea to explain if Michael was with them.
“Yeah, Michael went to the pool twenty minutes ago.” Lydia answered.
“Well then,” she noticed everyone in the room watching her curiously. She lowered her voice, turn around, and cupped her hand to her mouth, “It was Dunsworth” she whispered, “He said there’s a mole in the organization”
Even though she was talking softly, they heard her.
“A mole?” Lydia said casually, “so what, we’ve had moles before, you just kill them and that’s it, problem solved, what makes this one so special?”
“Two reasons” Claudia answered, “1. They don’t know who it is, 2. I’m the one who has to figure out who it is, then take them out.”
“Oh, lucky, I would’ve wanted to kill the mole” said Lydia.
“There’s no time for that, Lydia, this is serious business” said Liam. “Do you have any idea who it might be Claudia?” he asked.
Claudia didn’t, but apparently Lydia did, “I bet it’s Andrea” she said.
“You just say that because you don’t like her” said Liam.
“I have to agree with Liam on this, just because we hate Andrea, and she wants to kill us doesn’t make her the mole.” Said Claudia, even as the words were coming out of her mouth, Claudia knew that the only purpose they had served was further proving Lydia’s point, and she had to admit that Andrea could very well be the mole.
“Well, who else could it be?” Lydia asked.
“Anyone, you know how many people work at the agency, I’ve hardly met half of them, I could see one of them in the street somewhere and think ‘hmmm…that person looks really familiar, I really think I’ve seen them somewhere before, but I just can’t put my finger on it’ and odds are, it’s another agent you’ve seen somewhere but never knew who they were, it could be anyone.” Liam said.
“Well, I’d better go now, my uh…parents are probably going to want to show their place or something, bye guys.”
Without, even waiting for them to respond, she hung up the phone. She hadn’t really hung up to talk to her parents, she had been watching Gerard and Lucy, who were now talking alone in a corner. Both were whispering, and Gerard kept looking up at Claudia with a funny expression on his face. Claudia thought about what Liam had said, ’ I could see one of them in the street somewhere and think ‘hmmm…that person looks really familiar, I really think I’ve seen them somewhere before, but I just can’t put my finger on it’ and odds are, it’s another agent you’ve seen somewhere but never knew who they were, it could be anyone’ She watched them continue to talk privately, Harry was saying something, but she wasn’t listening, she just kept watching them and thinking about her boyfriends words it could be anyone…yeah, she thought, her eyes on Gerard, anyone…
