A/N: I don’t own the song, it’s by All-4-One or John Michael Montgomery (they both sang it). The quote is from Cinderella with is copyright of The Walt Disney Company…I also don’t own any of the Harry Potter characters, they all belong to JKR. Also, there are some things from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone(American paperback edition, pages 175-176) So basically I don’t own much in this story.(I do own the plot). I hope you guys like it. I heard the song the other day and I knew I had to write this story. Remember to Read and Review.

They read you Cinderella

You hoped it would come true

That one day your prince charming

Would come rescue you

You like romantic movies

You never will forget

The way it felt when Romeo kissed Juliet

“And Cinderella and the Prince lived happily ever after!” Hermione closed the book and climbed off her bed. After replacing the book on her alphabetized bookshelf, she ran to the kitchen.

“Mummy, will my prince come for me?” She asked her mother.

Jane Granger looked at her six-year-old in a puzzled way. “What do you mean love?”

“Will my prince charming come for me? Will we live happily ever after?” Hermione asked excitedly as she climbed onto the bar stool. She sucked happily on her juice box as her mother thought.

“So you want to know if true love really exists?” Jane asked her daughter, grateful that she did not want to know why she was getting a little sister or brother in a few months. Hermione nodded enthusiastically, still sucking on her juice box.

“Well…” Jane began, wondering how to put it. “I suppose prince charmings do exist.”

Hermione’s face lit up. “Will I meet my prince?” she asked.

“Maybe love; however, not everyone meets their prince.” Jane replied and saw her daughter’s smile fade.

“Well I’m going to find him.” Hermione told her mother matter-of-factly, and threw her empty juice box in the bin.

Jane sighed, and wondered how her little girl had become so headstrong.

And all this time that you’ve been waiting

You don’t have to wait no more

I can love you like that

I would make you my world

Move heaven and earth if you were my girl

I would give you my heart

Be all that you need

Show you you’re everything

That’s precious to me

If you give me a chance

I can love you like that

Hermione walked out of the cubicle drying her eyes. As she made her way to leave, something caught her eye; a rather large something. It was grey, huge and ugly, and it smelled like the rubbish bin does when her mum forgets to change the bag. It was a troll; she knew this for sure.

She backed up slowly, very slowly and hoped it would find something more interesting than her. Just her luck, something more interesting burst through the door in the form of two boys. It was Harry and Ron; her “friends.” She wasn’t sure she could really call them her friends, but at the moment she didn’t care if they were or not; they were here to help her.

She felt her back hit the cold hard wall. The troll was still coming towards her and she was scared. She had nowhere to run and his club would surely kill her, judging by the way it took out those sinks. She heard Harry and Ron yelling to each other but she wasn’t listening to them. She could hear her heart beating in her ears. She was terrified.

She saw a tap hit the wall to her right, and when she saw the troll stop, she sighed with relief. She started to edge to the left, but stopped when she saw the troll’s attention go back to her.

“Oy, pea brain!” she heard Ron yell. The troll turned and looked at him.

She saw Harry sneak away while the troll was preoccupied. He was urging her to run to the door with him, but she couldn’t. She was frozen in fear, and her limbs did not seem to be responding to her brain’s ever constant pleas for her to move. Hermione watched as Harry left her and attacked the troll. This distraction had finally kept the its attention. He had completely forgotten about Hermione and was now more concerned with the wand that was lodged up his nose.

Hermione fell down and did not bother to get up. Her two best friends were taking care of the troll for her. She watched as the one she knew would be her prince successfully knock out the troll. She looked at the look of happiness on his face when he saw the troll hit the ground, and she smiled. He was her prince, she was sure of that, but she would just have to wait until he figured it out.

I never make a promise that

I don’t intend to keep

So when I say forever,

Forever’s what I mean

Well, I’m no Casanova but

I swear this much is true

I’ll be holding nothing back

When it comes to you

It was a warm summer evening; the stars were twinkling above everyone’s heads as they danced at Bill and Fleur’s wedding reception. Ron and Hermione were sitting at a table watching everyone else dance. Hermione looked over at Ron and saw that he was watching her. She smiled at him and watched him blush. He looked away, but then he looked back.

He stood up and offered her his hand and asked, “Do you want to dance?”

Hermione nodded her head and took his hand. He led her out to the dance floor, and gingerly put his arms around her waist. He watched her for a long time before he finally spoke up.

“Er…Hermione…do you think I could talk to you?” He said, “Over there?” He gestured towards the benches that were located far away from everyone else.

“Sure.” Hermione replied.

Ron grabbed her hand and led her over to the farthest bench. They sat in silence for a few minutes until Hermione spoke up.

“What did you want to talk to me about?” She asked him, secretly hoping that he wanted to tell her that he fancied her.

“…Quidditch.” Ron told her. It was not what he had intended to say. He winced when he thought about it.

“Quidditch” Hermione repeated, thoroughly confused.

“Yes…no. I don’t want to talk to you about quidditch.” Ron said and he sighed. He knew that this wasn’t going to be easy for him. He’d never been too good with words, or girls, and he was sure proving it now. He took in a breath and finally spit out what he had wanted to say.

“I…well…you see…I…I fancy you, Hermione.” His ears and face probably blended into his hair, but he didn’t care. He had finally spoken his mind and he was proud of himself.

He looked at Hermione; her mouth was hanging open and she looked shocked. This was what she had wanted to hear, but she didn’t realize that he would actually say it. When she realized that she was staring off into space with her mouth agape, she went a nice shade of pink and a smile spread across her face.

“I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have said that.” Ron said. He had obviously taken her reaction to mean that she did not fancy him back. He made to get up, but Hermione grabbed his hand and pulled him back down.

“No Ron, I fancy you too.” She said before she let herself think about what she was saying.

Ron’s signature lopsided grin spread across his face, and Hermione grinned back.

“Why don’t we go back to the party?” Hermione said to him and took his hand. She smiled to herself; her prince had finally figured out that he was a prince.

You dream of love that’s everlasting

Well, baby open up your eyes

I can love you like that

I would make you my world

Move heaven and earth if you were my girl

I would give you my heart

Be all that you need

Show you you’re everything

That’s precious to me

If you give me a chance

I can love you like that

If you want tenderness, I’ve got tenderness

And I see through to the heart of you

If you want a man, who will understand

You don’t have to look very far

I can love you, I can love you, love you like that

Ron and Hermione sat snuggled on the floor by the fire. It was Christmas morning and the Burrow was a buzz with the happy sound of the Weasley brothers and their children. Harry and Ginny had not yet arrived from their flat in London. Hermione suspected that baby Suzette was making them late. There was already a sea of wrapping paper from the children’s presents. Molly was beginning to shoo the children out of the room so that the adults could open their Christmas presents in peace. Hermione heard Harry and Ginny floo in, and the sounds of Suzette’s cries.

Hermione smiled; someday she hoped she could be happily married like Harry and Ginny and have lots of little children. She looked at Ron and smiled when she saw that he was staring out the window with a nervous look on his face. He’d been doing this for a month or so, and she couldn’t figure out why. Molly handed her and Ron their presents, and Hermione knew that beneath the wrapping paper was another Weasley sweater, this year she was hoping she would get a blue one. When everyone’s presents had been opened, everyone looked at Ron, who was fumbling with something in the pocket of his trousers. Hermione wondered why they were all watching Ron, but she pushed the thought out of her mind when he turned to face her.

He took a deep breath like he had done five years ago at Bill and Fleur’s wedding.
“Hermione, we’ve been friends since our first year, and you know that I would never trade those seven years at Hogwarts for anything. You stuck by my side through everything, even when I was being a git. Even after Hogwarts, you stuck by my side, through everything. You always knew just what to say to make my bad day better and your smile made me smile. What I’m trying to say is that I love you Hermione. Will you marry me?”

Tears sprung to Hermione’s eyes and her mouth opened in shock like it had five years ago. She threw her arms around Ron’s neck and hugged him.

“Yes,” She whispered in his ear.

She let go of him, and looked at him. She smiled when she saw his lopsided grin. He clumsily opened a small box in his hand and took out the ring. He moved to put it on her finger, but dropped it. He turned red and rushed to pick it up. Hermione laughed and dried her tears as she watched him fumble around in the wrapping paper. When he finally found it, he put it on her finger and smiled at her; his ears were still red. She kissed him and she heard the room erupt in cheers. Until just then, she had forgotten that there was anyone else in the room. She pulled away from him and looked at everyone crowded around the living room. She smiled at Ginny, who gave her a thumbs-up. Hermione was happy now; her dream of marrying her prince was much closer to coming true.

I can love you like that

I would make you my world

Move heaven and earth if you were my girl

I would give you my heart

Be all that you need

Show you you’re everything

That’s precious to me

If you give me a chance

“I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride” the Marriage Wizard said, and with a flick of his wand, golden light surrounded the lovers. Hermione looked at her new husband and smiled. He kissed her softly, and smiled back. Hermione knew that this was where happily ever after began; with her becoming Mrs. Ronald Weasley.
