Hermione stared at Draco in shock. He didn’t honestly mean that did he? Was Voldemort really his uncle? How could that be?
“I don’t understand.”
“Sit down and I’ll explain.” The two sat down on the couch and Draco took a deep breath.
“The first thing I guess you should now is that I’m not really human.” Draco scratched his head. “I’m a Carpathian. Carpathian’s are of the Earth. Like we explained earlier.”
“I got that.”
“Good. Okay. I was born in the Carpathian Mountains of Poland in 1678.” Hermione’s eyes sprang wide. “I know, it was over 300 years ago, but bear with me. My mother died when I was young, maybe a few years old. I don’t remember her. My father was fine. Everyone knew that my mother was not his bondmate. She was a mage. She loved my father and he told her that he didn’t love her and that she would grow old and he wouldn’t. She didn’t care. She just wanted to be with him. My father may not have loved her, but he cared for her and he took good care of her.” Draco smiled slightly
“ So I was lived with my father until I was maybe I was a hundred years old there about. So anyway, nobody could figure out why my body was so slow to grow. I was a hundred years old and looked like a six year old. Very depressing that was. But then Mikheil found out that my mom had been a witch. That seemed to explain everything, although I’m still pretty clueless. I just don’t get it and maybe I never will.” He shrugged.
“So anyway, about a hundred years ago, Mikheil sent Dumbledore to find their brother Valcore. Valcore was like me. Part wizard part Carpathian. He taught me most of what I know, but keep a lid on that and I’ll show you what he taught me. So Valcore had been killing humans. People who were neither Carpathian nor wizard/witch and Mikheil was concerned that this would draw attention to the Carpathians. We can’t have attention. It’s bad for us. So he sent Dumbledore and my dad to check on Valcore. They found out that Valcore had turned vampire and contacted my uncle as soon as they could. His instructions were immediate, I was there. Kill Valcore. Do not let him live.” Draco shook his head.
“Mikheil’s voice is law. He is Prince of the Carpathians and he must be obeyed. Dad would have done it. Dumbledore should have done it. But he didn’t. He stunned my father and dragged him away. Dumbledore said he could not take the like of his brother. Mikheil was furious. And Dumbledore became a human. He left behind his family in fit of insanity and insecurity. He was stupid. Because three years later Valcore killed Harry Potter’s family and I think that is the real reason why Dumbledore looks out for him. He feels guilty about the fact that he could have stopped all this from happening and he didn’t.”
Hermione stared at Malfoy. His story was sad and almost unbelievable. But she believed him because she loved him.
Whoa, wait rewind. Draco swung his head to stare at her and she stared back. It was written plainly in is eyes that he had heard her thoughts. Just as she could see his now.
He loved her too. Hermione’s heart fill and when Draco reached for her, she went willingly into his arms.
Draco leaned back, lying down on the couch, pulling Hermione on top of him. He kissed her neck, kissed his way up to her lips. He pulled her down harder onto him.
Hermione could feel how much Draco wanted her. She kissed him back. He groaned.
“Damn Baby. You feel so good.” Hermione looked down at him.
“Can you explain some more about bondmates?”
“They are also called lifemates. The word lifemate is used in the bonding ritual. You can’t leave me. You can’t lie to me. You want to make me happy. You need to make me happy.”
“Now you’re sounding arrogant.”
“Yep, but the same applies for me.”
“What is the bonding ritual?”
“It’s word I say that bind you to me, body and soul.”
“What about heart?”
“I can’t force you to love me. You have to do that on your own.”
“I love you Draco.”
“I love you. I always have. Because I have mage blood in me, I have a little bit more control over my animal instincts. And I can go out in the sun.”
“What are the words to the ritual?”
“I want to be bound to you. Forever.” Draco pulled her down and kissed her hard on the mouth.
“I claim you as my lifemate. I belong to you. I offer my life for you. I give you my protection, my allegiance, my heart, my soul, my body. I take into my keeping the same that is yours. Your life, happiness, and welfare will be cherished and placed above my own for all time. You are bound to me and always in my care.” Hermione gasped. She felt as if tiny threads were being tossed out to her, wrapping around her soul, binding her to him. She leaned down and kissed him. He cupped the back of her head and held her in place as he attacked her mouth.
He broke the kiss first, dragging his mouth down the column of her throat. Hermione moaned softly. His teeth gently scrapped her neck. Hermione ground her hips against him. His breath was warm on her skin. Hermione tilted her head back.
Draco bit down. White-hot pain exploded into her then gave way to intense exotic pleasure. Hermione had never felt this way before. She was shocked that he had so much power of her. She moved against him as he fed off her. She wasn’t sure what was going on, but she didn’t care.
Draco closed the pinpricks with a quick swipe of his tongue. He eased Hermione up and then pulled his shirt over his head. He slashed his chest and urged her mouth to it. “Drink.” He commanded. Hermione bent her head and did as he said. He groaned as he felt her mouth move over the wound in his chest. She drank deeply. He waited until he knew she had taken enough for a true exchange, then urged her up and closed the gap.
“Why did we do that?” She asked. Draco looked up into her face and saw she had some of his blood on her lips. He pulled her head down and licked the blood droplets away.
“Blood exchange. Three of them. You become one of us.” Hermione’s eyes sprang wide.
“You mean I have to drink blood from someone too?”
“No.” Hermione gasped at the fire in Draco’s blue eyes and the anger in his voice. “You will never touch another man again. You are mine. You belong to me. Nobody is going to take you away from me.” Hermione smiled and gently brushed his blond hair from his face.
“Don’t worry. Nobody’s going to take me from you. But,” She narrowed her eyes at him. “You better not touch another woman either got it?” Draco smiled.
“Of course, but I should let you know, Raven, my uncle Mikheil’s lifemate, she is very independent. She insists on a lot of things. Like when I got wounded in a battle with a vampire, she gave me her blood to me. Against my uncle’s wished by the way. Yeah, I’m his nephew, he loves me, but he doesn’t like the idea of his lifemate have a blood exchange with me. It was only one time, but Raven says she would do it again if it means saving my life.” Hermione smiled.
“I like your aunt. I hope she like me.”
“She will.” Draco leaned up and kissed her. “Stop your worrying.” Hermione smiled, but rolled off him. “Hey, where you going?”
“To take a shower, why? Do you have a problem with that?”
“I wasn’t invited.” Hermione laughed at him.
“My God, are you arrogant.” She smiled. “Well hurry up and get over here.” He moved so fast she didn’t even see him. One minute he was lying on the couch, and then next he was standing next to her, his hands on her shoulders urging her to the bathroom door.
“Wow. You move fast.”
“Yep, you can too.”
“I feel weird.” She admitted. I can hear the painting outside moving and I can hear people moving around downstairs.”
“Block them out. Imagine turning down the volume. That’s all you have to do.” He smiled as he caught the image of her turning down the volume of a stereo. “Nice, good job.”
“Thanks. So what do I do when I go down there? Do I do the same thing?”
“Yep. Easy as pie.” Draco pulled her shirt over her head. “Now, I think you owe me something.”
“Really? Where do you get that idea?”
“Let’s see, I bound you to me, like you asked, so know it’s time you did something for me.” Hermione smiled and shimmed out of her pants. Draco sat back and watched her before taking off his own clothes.
He stepped into the shower with her and turned on the water. It sprayed cold water down on them and Hermione shrieked and jumped forward, colliding into Draco’s muscular frame. He laughed and turned it to warm before he bent his head and kissed her.
