A/N:Anyway, Melissa is a little weird, her mothers a total cow, her father never appears in the story, her sister is really tight annnddd... oh yeah, this is my second story; its not great I know and my first one will be finished is well. Read on my minons...
"Melissa! Get down here now!"
There goes my mother, shouting at me agin.
Mel, I told myself firmly, this will be your seventh year at Hogwarts. No way to get out of it. So just pack and get ready.
"MELISSA HEART! GET DOWN HERE!" my mother screamed up the stairs. Hopefully, one day, she'll go mad and get carted off to St.Mungos. A girl can dream, right?
"I'm coming! Let me get down there first!" I shouted back.
Honestly, she is probably the worst mother EVER. There is no love in our family and I've grown up envying my friends and longing to just run away from it all. Like that will happen.
I think I'm more unloved because I'm in Gryffindor and my entire family have been in Slytherin. Mother says she's disappointed. I dunno what Father had said, I almost never see him anymore.
As I walked down the hall, Cassandra, the most perfect daughter and most hated sister, opened her door and sneered at me, "Off to your Lady Lessons are you Melissa? Don't worry, one day you'll grow up and be an actual human being. But I suppose it really is your fault for being so weird. Urgh, you act like SUCH a retard."
She retreated back into her room but I kicked the door open as I lost my temper and shrieked at her, "CASSANDRA! You stupid bitch, why don't you get a freakin' life?! I'm glad I'm human and not a monster replica of Mother!"
But, of course, due to my bad luck, Mother had come walking down the hall looking for me, probably to ground me, and had heard the whole thing. Except what Cassandra had said of course.
Uh-oh, here we go again.....
"HOW DARE YOU SPEAK TO YOUR SISTER LIKE THAT,SHE HAS DONE NOTHING BUT CARE FOR YOU! WHY DON'T YOU TREAT HER WITH RESPECT - YOU SHOULD BE DOWN ON YOUR KNEES FOR EVERYTHING SHE'S DONE FOR YOU!"
I didn't resist the impulse as I decided to scream right back, "OH MY GOD! YOU HAVEN'T EVEN HEARD WHAT CASSANDRA HAS SAID TO ME! ALL YOU DO IS DENY IT, SHE JUST HAS TO BE THE PERFECT DAUGHTER, ITS NOT LIKE SHE CAN DO ANYTHING WRONG!"
Okay, may I point out that at this moment, I scared myself and I knew I was dead meat.
Mother's eyes bulged and her neck turned red. This had only happened once.
Cassandra fled back into her room, closed it and locked it just in case. Yet again, I was alone.
But all she did was say, quite calmly for a mad hatter of a person, "Get out. Get out of this house and never come back."
I started at her, not moving a muscle.
This time she screeched so loudly it echoed through our mansion - even the windows rattled, "GET OUT! I DONT WANT YOU EVER TO COME UNDER THIS ROOF AGAIN! TAKE YOUR THINGS AND LEAVE! DON'T CURSE US ANY LONGER!"
She grabbed me by the collar of my shirt and heaved me into my room, slamming the door behind me. I knew she was serious. I let out a sob as I put everything into my already full trunk.
Where would I go? I can't wander the streets for a whole month until school started!
I opened my wardrobe and collected all my clothes, jewelery, make-up, magic books and three bags of galleons.
I kicked the door closed, got my finger caught and let out a cry of pain. Oh yeah... I have rage issues. (Probably from Mother.)
I grabbed my wand and set fire to everything in my room that wasn't in my trunk.
This included: my desk, my bed, my wardrobe, my lamp, my windows and the curtains.
Once my rage-blackout was over and the fire died, I stared at the remains of my wrecked room. I hate it when I get mad, it feels like I could kill everyone on the planet. It's not my fault I have rage issues. Everything goes dark and every bad thing in my life just goes through me, spilling out like poison.
I held my wand high and muttered the spell to lift my trunk.
I let it fall softly onto the grass, two story's below and then jumped onto the roof. I then clattered down a ladder beside my now smashed window and fell to the grass with a thud.
I decided to go over to my neighbor who I had met once. His parents were out of town at the moment, and I had seen him a couple of times.
His name was... Sirius Black I think. He was quite handsome, but Mother and Cassandra hate him because he is also in Gryffindor.
I knocked on the door and a small, squeaky house elf opened it, "What can I do for you Miss?" it asked in a high-pitched voice.
"Oh, um... hi. I'm, uh, Melissa Heart, your neighbor. I was wondering if Sirius Black was home?" I said politely and nervously. The house elf nodded and scurried off. I made myself comfortable in the front hallway.
His house was like mine: humongous, clean and sparkly with many staircases.
The house elf returned with a sullen looking boy at its heels.
His face brightened slightly when he saw me and said, "It's Melissa Heart right? You're in Gryffindor?"
"To my Mothers dismay, yes," I laughed, so did Sirius.
"Yes, its the same for me really," he said, "Three generations of my family have been in Slytherin."
He motioned me to follow him and we walked down the hall, into the drawing room. On the wall I saw a huge tapestry of the Blacks family.
"You guys have been around a long time, aye?" I commented. Sirius nodded his head sourly. "Unfortunately yes," he said.
'Enough of this endless small talk already,' I thought, 'I need to tell him why I'm here.'
Sirius seemed to have read my mind and said, "So,why are you here anyway?"
I blushed slightly and replied, "Well, um, I kinda left my house for a while and..."
Sirus smirked and said, "Do you wanna stay here for a while?"
I nodded and smiled, "Thanks heaps Sirius." Sirius shook my thanks away with a wave of his hand, "Dont worry about it, it'll make the house more bearable."
