Muchas Gracias for all the reviews. Well enough with the chit chat, here it is, bon apetite!
“What do you think you’re doing?” Lily practically yelled, but in a way hoped he was hitting on her. By the look on his face she’d guess no.
“Well first of all you cannot change your hair without telling someone, we didn’t know it was you!” James was trying to come up with a good excuse but that was all he had.
“Besides,” Sirius cut in “You definitely did not have buns like that at Hogwarts by the way, about those… Congrats!”
Sirius didn’t seemed the least bit ashamed and continued at ease, “Even Remus said it was hot.”
“Siri…wait a minute. Really Remy?”
Remus blushed and turned his face away “Well…maybe.”
Lily smiled “Oh Remy, I miss you.” Lily reached up and gave him a huge hug. Remus chuckled and hugged her back. “I even missed you, Sirius.”
Sirius made a face of mock hurt, “What’s that supposed to mean?”
Lily looked up at him knowing his tricks, well she knew how to play. “What? I’m afraid I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
Sirius put on a high-pitched voice, “I even missed you Sirius.” Lily just reached up and gave him a hug.
Sirius reached down and pinched her “trunk”. “Oh yeah, it’s firm.”
Lily smacked him but laughed at the same time. “You little pervert! I guess some things never change. And look at you Peter, you-” Peter started to reach for a hug but Lily turned away, obviously the feelings weren’t mutual.
“Well now that that’s over I’m afraid I’m going to have to yell at you boys now, I suppose I’ll start with Potter.” Lily turned towards James and took a deep breath “Potter I don’t care who you thought I was! In fact I don’t even care about what just happened. I care about what you said yesterday. How dare you accuse me of not loving you in the first place, you can go around with your head held high but if you ever want to give this another shot then you-“
“I don’t want to give it another shot Evans, as far as I’m concerned there is no us! I’ve already moved on, and I’m not about to go backwards!”
Lily felt tears pushing themselves up and threatening to fall down her cheek. Her voice cracked as she stifled a sob “Then why did you have the picture by your bed?”
James quickly covered his remorse with a look of doubt. “Is that what this is all about? Accio Picture.” The picture came zooming through the gym and into James’ hand. He took the picture out of the frame and gave it to Lily.
Lily started sobbing, “I don’t want it!” More heads turned at Lily’s outburst. There was her picture with her in James’ arms, with his kisses planted on her face.
“Fine, I suppose I’ll just take care of it,” James started to rip the picture into pieces and more tears came as the more of the pieces fell to the floor.
Just then the two maids from dinner came to see what all the commotion was about. James turned towards them as they came rushing forward. “Hello James,” the blonde said as she gave James a kiss.
James kissed her back, “Hello Nadia.” James looked over towards the brunette as she came over. “Hello Lydia.”
Lily could tell that those kisses had gone farther, and right now it was only to spite her. Lily’s eyes of hurt turned to anger. The blonde maid named Nadia turned to Lily “Ahhh it looks like someone’s heart just got broken, I’d love to help but it looks like I’ll be entertaining James into the early hours so we must be going.”
Lily gritted her teeth. “That’s fine, just perfect…you think I’d be mad at you but I pity you-“
“Save it Ms….Evans was it? Well save it for someone that cares. Besides what are you going to do about it? Slap me?” Lydia started to laugh at her question.
Lily finally threw off her boxing gloves and shook out her hands. “Well see, Nadia is it? I suppose the difference between you and me is that you slap and I don’t. You see well I, I PUNCH.” Nadia tried to dodge it but she was too slow. Lily’s fist collided with her cheek making Lydia cry out in pain and fall to the floor.”
Lily grabbed her boxing gloves and ran to her room. Lily’s heart started pounding as she realized what she had done. ‘Although you have to admit it felt good’ Lily thought to herself. Lily put the key in the keyhole and unlocked the door. ‘Well I suppose all I can do is wait.’ With that Lily found her blueprints and got to work.
Lily woke up to find herself asleep in the chair she was working in last night with one hour until work if she skipped breakfast. Lily showered in record time and used her wand to cure her poofy hair and worried face. Lily put a little more effort then usual in her appearance to be sure she would look nice one her first day. Her hair was in graceful waves with her little maid’s hat resting on top of her head. Her makeup was subtle but radiant and her dress was just as slutty as before. Ready with two minutes to spare Lily went to the servants’ quarters to receive her first job of the day.
Mrs. Potter was there having girls draw chores out of a hat. When it was Lily’s turn to draw she was given a note as well. Lily looked over the five chores she had drawn. Lily hastily read over her chores.
Scrub the grand staircase
Dust the portraits in the waiting room
Ask Mr. Potter what he needs done in his office
Clean the Jacuzzi
Polish the dresser in Mr. James Potter’s room
Lily sighed, this is what she got for not going to training after Hogwarts. Lily opened the other note with a feeling that she knew what it was about.
Dear Ms. Lily Evans,
It has come to my attention that you hit Ms. Nadia Scauvy as of last night. We would like to inform you that here at Potter Industries we are against violence and to avoid this incident from reoccurring we have no choice but to move you from Mrs. Potter’s wing over to Mr. Potter’s. You may keep your room and may check over with Mr. Potter anytime today. If an incident similar to this reoccurs we will have no choice but to let you go. Please continue with your chores0for today.
Sincerely, Mrs. Potter
Lily grinned, maybe working for Mr. Potter would be a good change. She could at least get a new uniform. Lily followed the other girls and went to grab her supplies for the day.
Lily got started right away. With Lily’s perfection the staircase glowed after a strenuous three hours and some scraped knees.
To Lily it looked like she was the only one cleaning. Her cleaning was of the best quality and everything she cleaned sparkled like it was new. Once she was done with the portraits Lily went to a mirror to fix herself up so she would look nice at her second interview with Mr. Potter. She put on her best grin, despite the fact that her knees hurt and her stilettos were starting to take their toll, and made her way to Mr. Potter’s office.
Lily reached the top of the staircase and entered the waiting room and knocked on the door. “Come in.” Lily stepped through the door. “Ah. Ms. Evans I assume you’re here to discuss your new job.”
“Yes, and to clean your office.”
“I see, well let’s sort out your job first. Have a seat.” Lily sat obediently. “As you are aware Ms. Evans I don’t have much to offer you with you’re little experience. However I might have something you would enjoy. You see you’d either have the choice of making my coffee or helping out with the animals I own.”
“I’d rather help out with your animals if those are the choices.” Lily couldn’t help but feel a little glum.
“Ms. Evans I know that you are capable of a lot more then cleaning or making coffee, maybe you should forward your paychecks into training. Well I’ll send you an owl with the time and information. I’ll be back in an hour, now you go ahead and do what you need to do.”
“Very well, thank you Mr. Potter.” Lily pulled out her supplies and got to work. By the time Mr. Potter got back the office was free of clutter. His desk was organized and polished, his owl fed and cleaned, and his paperwork filed.
“ You’ve done an excellent job Ms. Evans. Why you’ve even filed my paperwork and fed my owl!”
Lily admired her work. “It’s true, I do good work. Oh and all your owls you missed are right here.” Lily touched the stack of papers on top of the desk. “Well my work here is done, see you later Mr. Potter.”
As Lily made her way to the Jacuzzi outside it was to her disappointment that today was a pool day for the marauders. ‘I can’t let them see me in this. They are probably out to get me since I punched that Nadia girl anyway.’ Lily took a big breath. ‘Okay just work the walk and make it appear like you are way out of their league, and uh…don’t fall.’ Lily finished her self-advice and put her nose in the air as she started to strut over to the Jacuzzi. The amazing Lily Evans with the highest GPA is now scrubbing Potter’s Jacuzzi…lovely. Lily found the Jacuzzi without any problems and got to work scrubbing.
“Ow, ow, Evans you're looking good,” Lily didn’t even have to look up to know that it was Sirius.
Lily straightened up and flicked her wand to stop scrubbing. “Hello Sirius, you aren’t mad at me?”
Sirius started to walk around Lily to get a good view “Why have you been naughty?”
Lily threw the sponge she was using for the Jacuzzi at Sirius. “Sirius, I mean it.”
“Course I’m not mad, that punch was killer. Probably better then some of the punches I’ve thrown in my day.”
Lily smacked him playfully “Course it was better, I’m the famous temper mental Evans,” Lily struck a pose. Sirius let out a bark-like laugh.
“Look Lily, I’m really sorry for what James said to you last night, it wasn’t fair.”
Lily turned her head away, “Sirius, you know I didn’t mean it to happen this way? Right?”
Sirius reached out his arms and gave Lily a friendly hug. “I know you didn’t.”
Just then a mouse-like boy walked out of the house. Oooh, Sirius. James is going to be so upset with you!” Sirius ignored the hint and kept hugging Lily.
“Shut up Peter, let James feel what he wants.”
James came running outside angry at seeing his best friend with “the enemy”. “Sirius, you’re supposed to be on my side! How can you-“
Sirius finally let Lily go and cut James off. “Lay off James, what you did yesterday was wrong,” Sirius looked around to see people starting to watch. Sirius looked around for someone to take Lily somewhere else so he could finish what he had to say to James. All the maids were to vicious, then he caught the eye of a guy who was about to carry some hay bales out to the stables. “Hey you!” The guy looked over.
“Me?” The man looked of age 21. His eyes were a mix between gray and steely-blue. He had messy blonde hair to his ear lobes and you could tell how built he was under his this T-shirt.
“Yeah would you take Ms. Evans elsewhere for a while, and see that she’s taken care of.” The man looked over at the speechless Lily with confusion. His gaze softened at her current emotional stage.
“I’d love to,” he walked over and led the red-haired girl holding back tears to somewhere inside.
Sirius nodded in gratitude and turned towards James. “You have cut Lily deep and she will probably never heal, and she doesn’t have anyone right now. James you are my best friend, but you really need to think right now. Lily is not just another ex. She is someone that you could spend your life with. And as far as I’m concerned you are being selfish. You’re worrying about your heart, but her parents died. For God sakes James open up your eyes. Just watch her, she is so carefree and easy to love. I just really think you’re making a big mistake.” Sirius walked away leaving James alone.
Well what do you think? Too dramatic? Please review.
