D: Well, sadly I didn't get ownership of Harry Potter for Christmas, but there's always next year right? Till then this belongs to JKR who is starting the 7th Book this month, Jo, Please DON"T KILL RON!!!!-- heh-hem... she owns it....

AN: And heres the chappie we've all been waiting for, or at least the one that action has been building up in with the past few chapters... I hope it works out to you all's liking, please remember to review, good cheese or not.

Ron was down in the common room, wide-awake, having just been driven out of bed. He wasn’t the only one down there Hermione too having been risen up by Ginny was now holding the sleeping Becky, sitting by his side with eye’s wide as tea saucers.

“He—He’s Here?” Ron Croaked looking at Harry as though it wasn’t possible. “He, He can’t be. No one’s seen him for months and he’s now at Hogwarts? You have to be kidding.” Ron had been having a good night’s rest, reliving the past two days with Hermione by his side, and the giggles of their growing Becky, to be awoken by Harry shaking his shoulder saying “Get up and down to the Common Room, he’s here!” It didn’t take long for Ron to realize that the He was the last person he wanted messing with his dreams.

Harry stood impatiently, “You really think I’d be kidding about something like this? He’s here Ron? Death Eaters could be seen forming in the Forbidden Forrest, Ginny and I saw the Dark Mark lingering over the trees. Get your wand, and get it now.” Hermione just sat there clutching her sleeping ‘daughter’. This was going to be it possibly. The last battle. The Battle where maybe their luck finally wore out and one of the three standing here tonight wouldn’t wake up with the other two in the hospital wing. She looked at Ron and Harry as they continued talking but she was in such great of shock, she couldn’t hear a word they where saying.

Hermione, pull yourself together, a soft voice said in her mind, calming her suddenly. Go upstairs, hide Becky and get your wand. Ron’s going to need you tonight, but you must keep Becky safe. “ We need to secure the Great Hall Doors or they’ll be in here faster than a firebolt,” Harry seemed to be coming up with orders so quickly, Hermione was suddenly called back to reality. Standing up, she ran up the stairs with Becky to the Dormitory. “’MIONE!” Ron yelled, “What the bloomin’ heck is she doing?”

“I’ll go see,” Ginny said, following her lead. “I’ll be right back,” ” She looked at Harry who nodded. “ Get Neville and Dean to go get Ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs, Ron and I’ll go get McGonagall…” Ron looked eyes locked between his best friend and little sister who had seemed to grow immensely within the last half hour. “We’re not going to do this alone…”

Worry and distress seemed to set in the Gryffindor Common Room like a chill from the storm outside. It had been minutes since Harry had raised the two Dorms from their winter slumber. Paravati and Neville had gone to get the Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws and the Gryffindor Common Room had quickly become home to several worried students from an assortment of houses.

Hermione looked out the window, the mark still visible in the air. Everyone had seen the mark but only Harry and Ginny could say they had seen the Death Eaters. “We need to defend the entrances and exits of the castle, anywhere they could get in, make sure they can’t.” Harry was dictating orders to those now inside Gryffindor Tower, Mc Gonagall and the other teachers voicing there opinion, although Hermione couldn’t hear it.

Hermione was sitting by the window, Ron by her side having just hidden Becky in the old Wardrobe, placing a silencing charm over her just in case. Ron was sitting by her she thought, for moral support, thinking she was nervous (which she was), holding her hand. Everything seemed to be going fine, Ron was listening to Harry as Hermione noted he clock striking one in the morning...

That’s when Hermione saw them coming.

It seemed something unreal, more like a horror movie then real life. There where five units of Death Eaters holding torches, a few giants with their clubs, and a howl that seemed to resemble that of the wind outside, the howl of cruelty, malice, and no mercy. Greyback. “Harry...” Hermione whispered aloud in a shaky voice. Ron looked at her after feeling her hand start to shake, “’Mione what is it?” he asked before turning his eyes to the window. “Oh Merlin,” he said with wide eyes.

“HARRY!” Ron yelled at the top of his lungs, trying to be louder than the crowed inside. “THEY’RE COMMING!!!”

Mass Pandemonium seemed to erupt with those words. “Neville, take you’re group down to the Great Hall, I’ll be down in a moment” Harry called over the mass, before he turned over to Ron.

“Ron,” he said, as Neville took a small group of seventh year Hufflepuffs to the stairs, “Take Ginny, Hermione, any one else that, well... take them to the Hump of the One Eyed Hag. There they can hide in Hogsmede till its over. I want you to stay with them till some one comes, will you do that?”

“I will take them, but I’m coming back,” Ron said standing firm in his voice. Harry smiled, “I had a feeling you’d say that. See you in the Great Hall then,” he said, shaking Ron’s hand. “Stay safe Harry.” Harry turned round looking out of the portrait, “You too Ron, Sprout and Flitwik are off getting the Order, I’ll see you then.” And with that, he and the last of the company headed out the portrait, to the battle below.

******

They reached the Hump Statue, standing her usual post, in the darkness of the corridor.

The sounds from the Great Hall however could be heard all through the school. Screams, Merciless laughs, and explosions could all be heard echoing the walls. Ron felt terrible, lying to them that they where to guard another area of the Castle, “ Dissendium ” Ron whispered tapping the witch. “Come on guys, climb on in.”

“What?” Ginny asked, looking at her brother as though he had jus called her something vulgar, “I’m a fighter Ron, not a Hider” she said in the disgusted tone he knew all to well “and I thought you where one too”, with that she dashed out of the corridor towards the Great Hall. “Ginny!” Luna yelled following her, along with Susan, leaving Ron and Hermione together.

“Hermione, please, hide in there till it’s over. I’ll come back I swear as soon as it’s over,” Ron started to plead. “Ron I’m going with you no matter what,” she said in her strong stubborn voice. He grabber her hands with his, holding them to her face. “You can’t, I’m not letting them get you. Hermione, I’m not going to let them take you from me,” he cried out, tears forming in his eyes. Come on Ron, don’t let her see you tears, be strong, he thought to himself, or the deli thought for him. It seemed as they where stuck in an unfortunate story, doomed to a loss of the other, each fearing the worst.

With that Hermione turned to Ron, running her fingers through his hair, tucking it behind his ear. Quietly saying the words, “We have been friends now for many years Ronald Weasley, where you’ve gone I’ve gone, Where you will go, I’ll follow, I’m not going to be separated from you Ron,’ So have we lived, so will we die, together,”” Hermione smiled, smoothing out his shirt’s shoulder arm. “I’m can’t say that I’m not going to get hurt; I couldn’t make a promise like that, but I’m not leaving you.” Hermione said smiling up at him “No matter what, even if I die, I’d never leave you don’t you understand?” She asked, her voice slightly quavering, placing her hand over his heart, “Because I love you, and those that we really love never leave us once there gone. Remember that?”

Brushing the tears out of her eyes, Ron smiled “Why’d I have to fall in love with a Stubborn Courageous, Wonderful girl?” he asked as they rushed down the corridor. “ I don’t know about Courageous and Wonderful, but I do know that she’d have to be Stubborn to put up with you,” she grinned, wands extended as they walked into the Great Hall, and what seemed to be the end of all things.

AN: I’m not sure about this chappie; it wasn’t my favorite ever written, but trying hard to keep the Cheese going good. Okay, now, the line Hermione said “We have been friends now for many years, where you go I’ll go. For we have lived as we will die, together” is actually a well known quote from Isdora Struaus, First Class Passenger on the Titanic. (Before Harry Potter Came around I devoted my reading on the disaster so long story short, I’m a Titanic/Harry Potter Freak!) The line actually starts as “We have been living together for many years” but it had to be altered for stories sake.... enough rambling.... I’ll try to update soon... but with a musical coming on this month, i can't make any promises. Please remember to leave a review if you liked it Good Cheese or Not –Kait Hobbit
