“Tanya wait I’m-” But what Harry was Tanya didn’t catch because she had already left and slammed the portrait shut. She walked a little ways before she checked her watch. It’s 11:30... only half-hour until I meet Draco... mine as well just go there now. Having made up her mind she headed for the seventh floor corridor. She found the spot she was looking for and walked past it three times concentrating hard on ‘A place to feel safe’. She opened the door that appeared which revealed a surprise. When she entered the smell was intoxicating. One breath it smelled like Draco, it was, to Tanya’s surprise when she found out when their parent’s died, Tag... a muggle body spray. Another breath taken smelled like Harry, Axe, in Tanya’s opinion, the best body spray out there.
Everything in the room reminded her either of Draco or Harry. Apparently she felt safe with both of them, but unfortunately there weren’t more characteristics of either in the room to help Tanya make a decision.
She sat on the couch and picked up a magazine that was lying on the large oak coffee table. It was a Quidditch magazine that Harry read frequently. Next to the magazine however was a book, Draco’s journal. This caught Tanya’s interest. She picked it up, turned it over a few times, and made to open it. No such thing was to happen. No matter how hard she tried, or what spells she used that damn book stayed shut. She decided to put it back on the table, and took a quick glance at her watch.
“Eleven fifty-two.” she muttered. With realizing how close to midnight is she began to get that familiar feeling. She was a little nauseous, her head felt like it was on fire, and she could feel begin to line up towards the inner corner of her eyes. Whenever she knew she was about to see Draco these things happened. The first two had to do with being nervous. The last one was pure heart break. She knew the conversation was not allowed to turn physical or to bring them both back together. It was to listen to what Draco has to say and reply if needed.
“Tanya?” he heard from the doorway. She spun around and saw Draco. His shock played across his face. He probably thought I wouldn’t show... He shut the door behind himself, walked over to sit on the couch, and grasped Tanya’s hands in his own.
“I’m so glad you came!” He made to kiss her, but she pulled away from him.
“I did come, but only to hear what you have to say.” he removed his hands reluctantly from hers and stared down at his lap.
“Oh... o-ok... I.... I...” he didn’t know what to say so he continued to stare at his lap. Tanya felt the first tear escape her eye and slide down her cheek. It hurt to be in the same room with him.
After ten minutes of silence Tanya stood up to leave. Draco however stood and turned her gently around with his hand on her shoulder so that she was facing him.
“Please don’t go!” he said sounding close to tears.
“I c-can’t stay h-here Draco... I can’t...”
“Please! I... I love you!” Before she could say anything he captured her lips in his. At first she protested, but soon gave in. Finally they broke for air.
“Draco...” he kissed her again. She pulled away from him. “I love you too...” Draco’s heart filled with so much happiness. He bent down again and began to kiss the sweet lips that just let escape her love for him. They both ended back on the couch... there clothes a little farther away.
“Tanya, you never came up to the dormitories last night... where were you?” Hermione asked at breakfast the next morning.
“I... I slept in the Room of Requirement.” she said not looking up from her eggs.
“Why?”
“Because Harry and I had a bit of a tiff and I was upset.”
“Right, he told Ron and me about that.” Tanya looked up from the food she had been nudging around with her fork.
“So what... you’re on his side are you!?” Hermione looked taken aback.
“I never said that! I’m not on either of your sides, I think the whole thing is ridiculous and stupid! Why couldn’t you both just tell each other what you were thinking? After all you are boyfriend and girlfriend!”
“I don’t need reminding! I know we’re boyfriend and girlfriend but there’s no law or rule stating we have to confide everything with them! I’m quite sure you don’t tell Ron everything do you? If I remember correctly just the other day you told him you were off to the library when I know very well that you went to meet Blaise Zambini!” Hermione looked horrified, but lowered her voice.
“You make it sound like I’m cheating on him! Blaise and I are merely friends, we just must be friends in complete secret because this school won’t except Slytherin’s and Gryffindor’s as friends! Especially Ron!” they both fell silent and Hermione returned to eating her breakfast ham.
“I’m sorry Hermione, you’re right... that fight with Harry was just stupid.”
“You’re right too... just because you’re dating doesn’t mean you need to know every detail of each others lives.” Hermione checked her watch. “I’m off to class, are you coming?”
“In just a moment, I’m finishing off.” she said nodding towards her plate of food.
“Alright, see you in a few.”
Tanya polished off her scrambled eggs. She didn’t even realize she was two minutes late for Transfiguration. She quickly gathered all of her belongings, shoved them into her bag, and walked out the Great Hall.
Three corridors away from Professor McGonagall’s room Tanya felt a familiar hand latch on to her wrist and pull her into a fair sized broom closet. The person kissed her. It was dark so she couldn’t make out a face, but she knew that kiss.
“Draco!” she giggled. “Draco I’m already late for Trans-” He cut her off with another kiss.
“Who said anything about going to class?”
“TANYA!” she heard someone yell from behind her. She turned to see Hermione power walking towards her. She let her catch up than they started walking to charms. “Where were you in Transfiguration?”
“I was still a little upset about Harry so I went back to the dormitories to clear my head.”
“Right... are you okay now?”
“I’ll be fine.”
“You can talk to him after lunch, during your guy’s free period.”
“Yeah, I think I will. This fight really isn’t worth all this. It was something stupid , It was something we shouldn’t fight over anyways.”
They reached Charms and took a seat in the back next to Ron. Harry wasn’t anywhere in sight. Ron said he hadn’t seen him since right after Transfiguration when he said he needed to use the Lavatory’s. They concluded that he should be along shortly.
Harry however didn’t show up. Tanya didn’t find him until after lunch, in the beginning of her free period.
“Who is it?” he asked when Tanya knocked on the boys dormitory door.
“It’s me.”
“Come in.” she entered, walked over to his bed, and sat down.
“Why did you miss Charms?” she asked peering into his gorgeous emerald eyes.
“I could ask you the same about Transfiguration.” he retorted.
“I was in the girl’s dormitory.” she lied cleverly. “I was upset that you weren’t in breakfast. I knew it was over our ‘fight’. So I didn’t show in Transfiguration.” he didn’t say anything so she went on. “It gave me time to think... and I’ve came to the conclusion...” he looked up at her, it plainly said in his eyes ‘I’m sorry! I don’t want to break up!’ “... that it was really stupid to fight about that.” he looked relieved at those words.
“Yeah... it was pretty pathetic.” they both laughed at the silliness of it all. After the laughter died down and there was a few minutes of silence Tanya was about to get up to do some homework when Harry kissed her. It was the sweetest kiss she’s experienced in awhile, since that summer at the Burrow, to be exact, and when he pulled away she was very confused and agitated that he broke such a perfect kiss. But the reason for his action became clear when he pointed his wand at the door.
They resumed kissing as Harry began removing their clothes. He took it slow in order not to hurt her, he let her get used to him, little did he know this wasn’t her first time.
When it was over she lay contently in his arms the way she had with Draco the night they found out about their parent’s deaths.
Mmm, that was good... It’s almost as if he’s... nah... not possible... is it?
(Harry’s thoughts) That was amazing... has she done this before? he joked with himself. She was almost better than-”
“What time is it?” Tanya asked suddenly sitting up sounding nervous.
“Twelve-thirty... why?”
“Oh merlin! Half-hour until Potions!” she made to get up but Harry tightened his arms around her waist.
“No don’t go.” Harry pleaded.
“But Potions! Harry we’ve already missed once class each today!” he thought this over, and apparently he agreed because two minutes later he was watching her get dressed and make herself look like she hadn’t done what she did during her free period.
“God you’re beautiful!” Harry said as she pulled her hair back into a ponytail. She blushed furiously.
Harry finally got up to dress, by time he was done his clothes looked great and his hair looked decent. He realized this about his hair and ruffed it up a bit.
They gathered their things and headed down to potions hand in hand. They were actually the first people in the class. They took advantage of this time to set up their cauldrons and ingredients. By time they were through the rest of the class began shuffling in and Professor Slughorn emerged from his office.
“Alright everyone take out those essays!” Everyone began to move at once, when their essays were all visible on top of everyone’s desk Professor Slughorn waved his wand and they all collected and made a neat pile on his desk in the front of the room. “Now today class we will...” At that moment she spaced out. God I’m stupid! How could I do this to Harry? And with his enemy! I have to break it off with Draco... if I don’t I’m only going to hurt Ha-
“Tanya, we have to make Veritaserum!” Harry whispered in her ear. She immediately snapped out of her thoughts and began the process of making the most powerful truth potion.
In the end no one, not even Hermione mastered it. Professor Slughorn says it was no matter, we’d just try again next time.
Tanya followed her two friends and boyfriend out the door, but they abruptly stopped. She looked up from her shoes to see what the obstacle was. Draco
“Potter I-”
“Get out of the way, Malfoy!” Harry said sternly.
“But I-”
“Didn’t you here me? Move!”
“Potter I-”
“Will you get out of the-”
“Maybe would should let him say whatever it is that’s itching to get out.” Tanya said quietly. Harry looked around at her confused that she was trying to help Malfoy out.
“Fine,” he said looking back at Draco. “but make it quick.”
“This won’t be quick, so can we meet up after today’s classes?”
“What?”
“Listen Potter, it’s important. Just meet me in the Room of Requirement at six ok?” Harry glared at him, but nodded. Once they got that all ‘set up’ they brushed passed Malfoy who now moved out of the way.
“So tell me Harry, why are we going to me that slime?” Ron asked Harry.
“Because... I don’t know... he seemed different to me...”
“Yeah, well he’s a manipulative bastard.”
They managed to make it through Herbology. When that was over they grabbed a quick something from the Great Hall and walked to the Room of Requirement. When they entered it was decked out in both the Slytherin and Gryffindor colors. In front of them sat a poufy emerald and silver armchair and a poufy scarlet and gold couch for four. Separating these pieces of furniture was an oak coffee table occupied by an emerald goblet with silver trim near the chair, and four scarlet goblets with gold trim near the couch.
“Well Dr-... Malfoy’s not here so should we sit and wait?” As they sat Tanya looked around and the bare white walls. Here and there were pictures of Godric or Salazar... or a Gryffin or Snake. Right above the stone fireplace (A/N: There’s always a fireplace in the RofR!) Was a picture of Godric Gryffindor with his ruby encrusted sword Harry pulled from the Sorting Hat at the end of his second year.
“I sure wish we had some Butterbeer.” Ron said hopefully staring at the Goblets. His Goblet was immediately filled with Butterbeer. “Wine?” he question. The Butterbeer, which was a honey color turned to a deep crimson red wine. “Fire Whiskey?” the contents in the liquid remained its deep crimson red.
“Please Ron! You actually thought you’d get Fire Whiskey... I have no doubt that the House Elves are the ones sending us drinks.”
“Granger’s right.” they heard Draco say from the entrance/exit. He took up his seat across from them. “Dom Perignon.” he said to his Goblet. “Glad you could all make it.” he took a sip of his wine.
“Just get to the point, Malfoy.” Harry ordered.
“Right, sorry.” Hermione, Ron and Harry gave each other bewildered looks. Malfoy... apologize... since when? “Now I have something that will interest you all. I’ve joined the order and I was wo-”
“What!? You joined the order? How? Why? You’re on Voldemort’s side!” Harry rambled incredulously.
“Wrong. It was only my fathers wish for me to join Voldemort. I however had other plans for myself. Now with my father dead, I’m free to do as I wish, and I wish to help you.” Harry looked at Malfoy suspiciously.
“Why do you want to help us? What’s the catch?”
“There is no catch, I want Voldemort to pay for what he’s done to everyone.” Harry, Ron, Hermione and Tanya discussed Malfoy’s proposition to each other. Ron was dead set against it, Harry wasn’t to be sure, Hermione was sort of accepting it, so Tanya had to convince them all that Draco could be good, without them getting suspicious. In the end they chose to let him help.
Harry, Ron, Hermione and Tanya left for the Gryffindor Tower, but just as they left the Room of Requirement Tanya realized she left her robes behind.
“Oh guys it got stuffy so I took my robe off and I accidentally left it there! I’ll catch up!” she allowed her friends to keep going as she turned back. When she was back in the Room of Requirement Draco was there holding up her robe.
“Forget something?”
“Yes thank you... and what was that!?”
“What?”
“Don’t play innocent!! Becoming their friend like that?”
“I did it to be closer to you!”
“It’s a wonderful gesture Draco but you know as well as I that they’ll catch on... they’ll figure it out.”
“I just hate that I can’t be with you every second of every day like Potter! It kills me. Why can’t you break up with him?”
“Because I love him!”
“Don’t you love me?”
“Yes Draco you know that! Now give me my robes, I have to catch up.” she made a grab for them but Draco yanked it out of her reach. She stumbled into his arms. He looked down and kissed her passionately. After they broke apart he handed her her robe.
“I’ll see you at 11... here.”
“What?... Ok whatever, fine.” she turned on her heels and ran all the way to the Gryffindor Tower.
