“Potter, Black, stop that foolish behavior this instant!” yelled Ms. Cigna, the Muggle Studies teacher.
“Sorry, Professor” they chimed simultaneously, then resumed chucking bits of paper at each other as she turned her back.
Sirius Black was considered by many to be the hottest guy at Hogwarts. His silky black hair flopped in his smoldering gray eyes in a swoon worthy way. With his debonair looks and suave manners, it was no wonder almost half the female population at Hogwarts adored him. James Potter wasn’t too far behind in the looks department but didn’t have quite the player status his best friend did. He had a Quidditch toned body and jet-black hair that stuck up in the back as he often ran his fingers through it.
“Stop it!” hissed Lily Evans. She was top of their class and disliked people (A/N*coughJamesandSiriuscough*) disrupting class. James and Sirius were the fearless co leaders of the infamous Marauders, but even they knew better than to invoke the redhead’s temper. Lily was definitely also one of the elite, with her beautiful green eyes, red hair and unblemished pale skin.
As the class was dismissed, Ms. Cigna called out “Potter, Black, stay behind for a moment please.”
A little bewildered, the two boys obliged. “Now you two are on the verge of failing this class” she said bluntly.
“Failing?” James was horrified. “My mum will kill me!”
“Yeah, James’ mum will kill me!” chimed Sirius. It was common knowledge that he stayed with the Potters during the holidays, but only the Marauders knew the full story.
“Well, as both of you are doing so wonderfully in your other classes, I have come up with a solution to your dilemma. You simply need some hands-on experience. I am offering you the chance to stay at the home of one of our muggle students during the summer holidays. You will have no homework from this class and a bit less from your other classes to give you more time to adjust if you choose to accept.”
Although Sirius had been convinced at the prospect of not having much homework during the summer, James was still doubtful. “Well…” he said uncertainly.
“I am sure that you are aware that one cannot become an Auror without receiving a passing grade in this class Mr. Potter?” inquired Ms. Cigna, seeing his face. It had been James’ dream to become an Auror for many years. “ Ms. Evans has kindly offered her house”
“We’re in” Sirius said, grinning at the elated expression James had at the thought of spending time with Lily.

“Wait up Lily!” exclaimed Sophie Canon as Lily walked down the hall. Sophie had blonde hair that curled softly and cobalt blue eyes. Even with her cheeks flushed slightly from exertion, she was still very pretty and received quite a few stares as she barreled down the corridors.
“You’re so slow,” Lily remarked playfully at her best friend as Sophie stopped, panting.
“It’s not my fault, your legs are longer!” snapped Sophie, but she too was smiling.
A small third year tapped Lily shyly on the shoulder, cutting into their argument. “E-e excuse me M-m-miss” he stammered as Lily smiled kindly at him. “I’ve been t-t-told to g-give this t-to you.” Handing her a roll of parchment with an important looking seal on it, he stumbled away.
Lily read the message and blanched suddenly. She looked horrified and wordlessly passed it to Sophie. “Dear Miss Evans” Sophie read aloud. “We thank you for your generous offer to help those in need and have taken the liberty of arranging for (here she paused in disbelief) James Potter and Sirius Black to accompany you to your home on the last day of the semester.”
Lily ran to the girl’s dormitories and flopped on her bed miserably. “What am I going to do?” she wailed. “I can’t back out now, but the thought of being with him and Black for Merlin knows how long is extremely unpleasant.”
“What’s wrong with him?” inquired Sophie. It was no secret that James had a thing for Lily.
“He’s just so… eeugh” said Lily, apparently not finding a word strong enough to describe him.
Sophie sighed. James actually was a pretty decent guy, but couldn’t resist showing off and acting like an idiot whenever Lily was around. “What if I come stay with you guys?” she asked, sighing as though it was a huge sacrifice for her to stay with her best friend and the two hottest guys in the school for a summer.
“Thanks Soph, you’re the best!” Lily was much happier. At least now if they tried any tricks, she’d have Sophie on her side.
