She had watched him from the shadows as he grew into the handsome, powerful young man that stood before her. She looked into his sparkling green eyes, and saw only confusion.
“How do you know all that about me?” he asked, the confusion in his eyes finally traveling the length of his features.
“I have been watching you for some time,” she replied, as cryptically as possible. She knew she shouldn’t be doing this, making contact with him in this way. But he needed to know, he had the right to the truth.
“Why?” He didn’t know what to make of the situation. A girl he had never seen before, a beautiful girl with long, brown hair and piercing blue eyes had approached him, explaining only that she knew what he was up against and wanted to help him. But this was hardly news to him, nearly everyone in the wizarding world had a least a clue of what his future entailed, and many had already offered their services to this cause. However, he had become a bit more uneasy as she proceeded to tell him his complete life story, from when he was born to that very day, details that his best friends did not even know.
“Because that is what I was meant to do. Please do not ask me to explain more, because I cannot.”
“Can’t you at least tell me who you are?”
“I am called Faith, and I am your guardian. That is all you need know right now.” She turned away from him, her hair and delicate silver robes billowing elegantly behind her.
“But what’s a guardian?” he cried, rooted to the spot but desperate to know more.
“In time, you will come to know what I am. For now, you needn’t let it trouble you. We will speak again soon, Harry Potter.”

“Your crime will not go unpunished Failithana. Our rules are known to you, you cannot in truth claim ignorance.” A tall, burly man in black robes bellowed at the petite girl standing in front of him.
“As I will not claim it. I do not deem it necessary to lie, Daegan, only to explain that I have done what I have done because I believe I am right.” The girl spoke forcefully as well, unwilling to back down to the man towering over her. Her light eyes bore into his dark ones, making him blink and turn away, huffing loudly.
“I will not be intimidated, Failithana. I will not allow my feelings to cloud my judgment.”
“Nor will I. If you deem it necessary to punish me, by all means, do so. But do not think for one second that I will stray from what I believe to be the right path. I will defy every order if it contradicts what I believe to be right.” Then her face softened and she reached forward and gently laid her hand on his arm, feeling his tense muscles relax slightly.
“Can you not trust in my judgment, even if you do not see the good in it yet?” she whispered, moving her hand down his arm to intertwine her fingers with his.
“I have a duty, Faith,” he said quietly, with a note of sadness in his voice. He squeezed her hand as he turned his head to face her, “If you love me, you would not ask me to shirk it.”
“Giving me the chance to do what I think may save Harry’s life, as well as countless others, is not shirking your duties,” she said, their hands slipping apart as Daegan turned his body towards her, “you will be making sure I keep my oath to protect his life.”
“We have never before made contact with the humans,” he said desperately, trying to sway her without more heated arguing. She was however, unrelentless. She reached up and brushed her smooth hand against his cheek.
“This will save us all. I promise.”
