~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "When the thought to write first enters your mind, you realize you must write, right away, or else you shall lose those thoughts, and they might never return. But, as you delve further and further into your own thoughts, and write your strange little ideas, more of them pop into your head, and you know you must write more, and more of those ideas down, otherwise you'll lose them all, and so you continue on and your thoughts continue to feed off of each other. Then you finish, and when you finish you realize that this little bit of ideas that popped into your head are not what you envisioned at all. And it seem that your first little idea has been swallowed whole, by one much bigger, idea." ~Yiva Potter
"Get over her, James! It's been four years!" Sirius barked at his friend James Potter, who was staring off into the direction of one very redheaded girl.
"I can't, she's, she's beautiful. You can't just tell me to forget her." James snapped back to Sirius.
"Fine, I was just trying to help you out, buddy." Sirius walked off from his friend humming a song tune.
James not to be to down on himself went cheerfully over to Lily Evans. "Lily, how wonderful to see you again!"
"Leave me alone, James, I really am not in the mood to talk to you, I'm in a good mood."
"Lily I was just wondering if you would like to-" He couldn't finish his sentenced as he was shoved rather ungracefully into the lake.
"No! No, No! Leave me alone!" Lily stormed off into the crowd, and James was thrown out of the water by a rather large squid.
She's cold and she's cruel
But she knows what she's doin'
She pushed me in the pool
At our last school reunion
"James, James, are you okay? That looked like it hurt." Remus Lupin came running over to James as he fell out of the lake.
"I'm, I'm just so dandy. She actually talked to me! Can you believe it Remus? AT the beginning of this year, she would only call me 'Potter', and tell me to 'get the bloody heck out of my way!' I'm so happy I could sing!" James did a little jig in his graduation robes.
Remus shrugged and thought that it was a miracle that James was even being allowed to graduate. He couldn't believe that they had all survived seven years together.
Sirius and Remus vaguely wondered if Dumbledore had a death wish, as he had placed James and Lily next to each other at the table. Peter, trying to keep peace, asked Lily what she was planning to do after graduation. Lily launched into an excited story about how she hoped to travel. The other people near them then began to tell what they were hoping to do. When it was James' turn, he got a a dreamy look in his eye and said that her hoped he'd be able to work at an orphanage. He had lost his parents just earlier this year, and though he hadn't had to grow up in one, he knew how it felt to be alone in the world.
Lily was shocked, could this be the same James Potter? She was rather touched, but being Lily, and not being able to give in, she giggled a little bit and told him she could just imagine him on a small chair, and bunches of small children beside him as he read them a story.
Looking through the words, James smiled and said thank you.
Later, after the ceremony, but before the party, Sirius asked James a very important question. "Why do you keep going after her, Mate?"
"I dunno. She's, she's this whirlwind and she just knocks me off my feet. I don't know why, but she's just the girl I'm looking for. Does that sound odd?"
"A wee bit." Sirius told him in all honesty, after all, they had based their friendship on honesty, they both had been tired of all the bull, some people had tried to pull.
She laughs at my dreams
But I dream about her laughter
Strange as it seems
She's the one I'm after
Cause she's bittersweet
She knocks me off of my feet
And I can't help myself
I don't want anyone else
She's a mystery
She's too much for me
But I keep coming back for more
She's just the girl I'm looking for
"Did you hear about Frank and Alice?" Lily asked Remus as he walked beside her on their way to Hogsmead, he hadn't been able to find Sirius, James, or Peter, so had given in and asked Lily to walk with him, he hated feeling alone.
"No. What happened?" Remus was highly amused, this was the exact thing she had yelled at James for, all his stories and rumors.
"Frank proposed! Their gonna get married! I saw the ring," She added, as though daring Remus to deny the statement.
"Well, finally, we all knew it'd happen before to long."
"Remus, hey Remus wait up!" James came barreling toward his lupine friend. "Oh, hello Lily, nice day out, isn't it?"
Lily groaned and rolled her eyes, she chose to ignore him, rather than answer his obvious question.
"You know, when you ignore me like that, it hurts a little bit, but when you roll your eyes like that, it just makes me love you that much more."
"You wouldn't know a thing about love, Potter."
"Oh and why not?"
"Because you have the compassion capacity of a five year old."
"And don't five year olds have compassion?" James had her stumped, and he knew it, his grin grew an extra five inches and he gave her a quick hug. She gave a confused look to Remus, but they all continued to walk.
She can't keep a secret
For more than an hour
She runs on one hundred proof attitude power
And the more she ignores me
The more I adore her
What can I do
I'd do anything for her
"Why, would you do this for her, all of this, we mean?" Peter and Sirius gestured to the ton of candy and books James held.
"Because, guys, because. She's just so- bittersweet. She just drives me crazy, she's everything that I want, she just the girl I'm looking for."
>i>Cause she's bittersweet
She knocks me off of my feet
And I can't help myself
I don't want anyone else
She's a mystery
She's too much for me
But I keep coming back for more
She's just the girl I'm looking for
"Did you know, I tried to call her? Yeah, I know, stupid, yup, I learned muggle devices just for her. She wouldn't even pick up the phone, though. Said something about knowing it was me, when I asked her about it." James told Sirius this, as he swallowed another glass of pumpkin juice.
"Why don't we ask her if she'd like to join us." Peter suggested in a small voice.
"I'll go check." Remus stood and walked over to the Redheads table. He came back minutes later, "She'd rather be alone."
"It's because of me, isn't it?" James put his head in his hands.
"Maybe, Sirius is right, maybe you should just let her go." Remus suggested.
"I can't give up yet, guys, I know I should but, I keep remembering the first day we met, and I can still remember that whole conversation. I really do like her."
James held the door for Lily as she left, "Wow, Potter, I'm surprised, you actually do know a little bit about being polite."
James dramatically clutched his heart and cried, "Lily, you cut me deep, you know exactly what to say, just to ruin my day."
"At last, you're finally getting the hint!"
The way she sees it's me
On her caller I.D.
She won't pick up the phone
She'd rather be alone
But I can't give up just yet
Cause every word she's ever said
Still ringing in my head
Still ringing in my head
She's cold and she's cruel
But she knows what she's doin'
Knows just what to say
So my whole day is ruined
"James, give up!" Sirius shouted on the train, the next day.
"No!"
"James, just give up!" Remus pleaded.
"No!" James gave his resilient answer.
"Please!" Peter begged.
"No way!"
" Don't you get it, she's never gonna fall for you." Sirius told his friend.
"Don't you guys get it? I don't care, if I have to admire her from afar, I will. I know, it sounds creepy, but, I love her, she's bittersweet, she knocks me off my feet. I can't help it, I don't want anyone else! I don't care if she through cold snow down my back, and then shoved me into a pool of freezing water, I'd go back again. She's just the girl, I'm looking for."
"You really like her, huh?" Sirius asked.
"Yes!"
Lily walked into the compartment. "James Potter, that has to be the dumbest, sweetest, weirdest thing, anyone has ever said about me!"
"It was all true."
"I know. I'm sorry."
"You're more than forgiven if you go out with me." James asked hopefully.
Cause she's bittersweet
She knocks me off of my feet
And I can't help myself
I don't want anyone else
She's a mystery
She's too much for me
But I keep coming back for more
Cause she's bittersweet
She knocks me off of my feet
And I can't help myself
I don't want anyone else
She's a mystery
She's too much for me
But I keep coming back for more
Oh, I keep coming back for more
She's just the girl I'm looking for
Just the girl I'm looking for
I'm looking for
I'm looking for
I'm looking for
Just the girl I'm looking for
Sirius put the finishing touches on his little 'song.' Remus was going to kill him for making him do this but, as he was best man for Lily and James' wedding, he figured they could do this.
Okay that was just a little idea I had, I hope it didn't weird you out to much. I hope you guys liked it too! The song was: Just the Girl, and it's by: Click Five. I hope you guys will r/r.
