The full moon would occur in five days. You and Sirius had ignored each other since that night in the common room. He had dumped Mia, and moved onto Kerry. She was even worse than Mia. Besides the mounds of make up and the stuffed bra, she disliked you immensely. You werenít sure why. But the first time Sirius had brought her to dinner with you, it wasnít pretty.
"Hey everyone! This is Kerry Slots."
"Hi!" She sat down too close to you, pushing you over into James, who dropped the juice he was drinking all over the both of you.
"Oops." She was a little clumsy, you guessed. You thought the same thing when she laughed so hard at a joke Remus told that she spit in your food. You brushed it off as an accident when she kicked you under the table- twice. And when she said,
"The only girls who play Quidditch are the kind who cant get a mans attention any other way." You figured she was just making conversation. But when she poured water over your white uniform ('accidentally') blouse and said,
"Donít worry, its not like anyoneís looking." It was too far. You got up, called,
"Nice meeting you, Kerry!" and exited the Great Hall. Nat and Remus followed.
"What was that about?" Nat asked.
"Did you do something to her?"
"Iíve never even met her before."
"Well then that was strange."
"I have to go change my shirt."
"Why?" Remus asked. You pointed to your see through shirt. Remus pointed his wand at it and muttered something, drying your shirt immediately.
"Oh yeah! Thanks Remie!"
"No problem." You continued on to the common room.
~* FLASHBACK OVER*~ That had been two days ago. They werenít dating anymore.
Instead, there had been a myriad of stupid pranks on Filch, Slytherins, and anyone else who was in the wrong place at the wrong time. The Marauders were so busy you barely saw them.
You sighed and exited Gryffindor Tower, on your way to an early, hopefully peaceful, breakfast. You had no such luck.
Landon came to sit down next to you, and at the same time Sirius sat down across from you. You had been dating Landon since your first dinner in the Room of Requirement. Heíd been so sweet. He gave you a single red rose, and youíd talked about Quidditch, and school, and other things. The Room of Requirement looked beautiful, like a little Italian restaurant. He didnít even try to kiss you, which you were glad of. You had seen him a few more times, and he also hung out with you, Nat, and Lily. He was funnier than you thought, but not like the Marauders. Still, you liked Landon. You liked getting to know him.
"How are you this morning?"
"Good." Sirius continued to eat silently.
"Will you meet me in the library before dinner?"
"Youíll see." He didnít know that you hated surprises. Oh well. You felt someoneís eyes on you, and you looked up to see Sirius quickly look away. What was that about? You wondered if you had food stuck in your teeth. You decided it didnít matter, and continued with your meal.
The tension was so thick you could have cut it with your knife. Landon and Sirius kept glaring at each other across the table. You pretended to be oblivious.
You were grateful when James and Lily joined you at the table. Lily raised her eyebrows and James gave Sirius a puzzled look. You both shook your heads at the same time. The day passed quickly, and before you knew it, it was time to meet Landon in the library. To your surprise he was waiting outside.
When you reached him, he pulled you into in an unused classroom and pressed you against a wall. He hesitated, to make sure this was okay with you. You nodded, and he leaned in and kissed you. You kissed back, though not as forcefully. He was a little eager. Hs hands were on the small of your back; you put yours on his arms. You came up for a breath but he stuck his tongue in your mouth. You almost choked. He pulled away after a few minutes and smiled at you. You hoped your smile was genuine.
So the guy wasnít the best kisser; at least he didnít try to kiss you when he had a girlfriend. You walked to dinner together, parting so you could go to your House table and he to his.
"What did he want to tell you?" Natalie asked.
"Ill tell you guys later."
"Your hairs a little messed up," Lily told you, and then a look of enlightenment took over her face. "Oh..." You blushed. Sirius looked at you, and then looked away and scowled. You ate your dinner quickly and excused yourself from the table. Lily came after you.
"Oh, no problem, Lily."
"So is he a good kisser?"
"That sucks. What did he do?"
"He took me into an unused classroom, pushed me up against a wall and kissed me. And then when I tried to take a breath he stuck his tongue down my throat."
"Yeah." There was movement behind you. You didnít need to look to know that it was Sirius. So heíd heard what you said about Landon. Maybe if you ever spoke to him again heíd tease you about it. Well, those girls couldnít have been too great, or else he wouldnít have dumped them. Not necessarily. Oh good. Now you were talking to yourself again. Best see what I have to say, then. What do you mean? Maybe he actually likes you, and heís jealous of Landon. Jealous? Why? Heís hotter, funnier, and- meaner, than Landon!. Serves him right if heís jealous! You know you want him to be. No. Okay yes, but do we need to bring that up? I hate him! You love him. I like him. There. You compromised with yourself. Yourselves? You were confused. You finished your homework quickly and went to bed.
It was now Easter break. You, Lily, and Nat boarded the Hogwarts Express, which would take you back to Kings Cross Station. James and Peter came to see you off, Remus wasnít feeling well. The full moon had been a rough one a few nights ago, and he still looked terrible. You felt bad for him.
You, Nat and Lil played Wizards Chess on the train, and laughed happily as you exchanged jokes. You were getting excited as you got closer to Platform 93/4 . Mike was picking you up, and you couldnít wait to see him. You ran off the train and found Mike immediately. He was tall, with dark hair and dark eyes. The girls who were leaving for vacation were staring at him with as much longing as they stared at Sirius.
"Mikey!" You gave him a hug. He swung you around, laughing.
"I missed you!"
"I missed you back!" Nat and Lily had come up behind you. Nat had a friendly smile on her face, but Lily was looking at your brother like he was God.
"Mike, this is Natalie Martin, and this is Lily Evans."
"Nice to meet you." They both greeted.
"Hey, girls! Ill grab your trunks for you, at least until we get off the platform. Locomotor trunks." He said, and all three of your trunks levitated next to him. Once at the barrier, he gave yours and Natís back, keeping Lilyís to carry himself.
"Thanks, Mike." She said shyly.
"No problem, Lily." You almost laughed out loud. Lily and Mike, flirting. You wondered what James would say.
You all chatted with Mike as he led you to an empty field. You told him about your term, and he told you about his last couple of games. He held out a necklace suddenly.
*Ok, everyone grab on at the same time.* You did as you were told, and you felt your stomach being pulled away, followed by the rest of your body. You landed on your front lawn in Southbury, Connecticut. The house was small considering 8 people lived in it at one point. It was white with dark blue shutters, and there were Morning Glories wrapped around the white picket fence that surrounded the backyard. There were also pansies (your favorite flower) and tulips.
