Chapter Sixteen: Unexpected.

Draco had just changed into his swimming suit when he heard Hermione scream from the next room. He ran next door and found the door open. He walked in a found Hermione jumping up and down, hugging Ginny.
"Oh my
God Ginny! I can't believe you're here!!! How did you get here? Did Harry and Ron come with you?" Hermione asked quickly.
Ginny let out a small laugh. "Gosh I've missed you Hermione," Ginny said with a smile. "Even if it
has only been a week! Well, Dumbledore sent me, he just wanted to make sure that everything was okay. No, Harry and Ron didn't come with me. We begged him but he said he couldn't lose two more
gifted students."
Hermione smiled. It sounded like Dumbledore. Hermione finally noticed Draco standing by the door. "Draco, look!" Hermione said with pleasure.
"Um...hi," Ginny offered.
"Hey," Draco said shyly. "Sorry Hermione. I just heard you scream so I decided to check things out. Well, I'll let you two catch up." he said as he backed out of the room.
After Draco left the room, Ginny gave Hermione another big hug. "It must have been...hard to live with him for a week," she said sympathetically.
"Actually, it wasn't that bad."
Ginny gave Hermione a look. "You're so...you," she said finally, unable to think of an adjective to encompass Hermione's understanding qualities.
"You
must meet Mel and Ashley!" Hermione said excitedly. "I just met them here and they're great. And guess what? They're
witches! Isn't that wild?" Hermione asked, waiting for Ginny's reaction.
"Really?" Ginny asked with wide eyes.
"I know! I was really shocked too," Hermione said. Hermione was thoughtful for a bit. "How did get here?"
"Portkey," Ginny replied. "It was the longest Portkey ride I've ever taken."
"Yeah, it was weird for me too."
"Hermione....there's something I need to tell you..." Ginny started. Before she could finish, there was a loud knock at the door.
"Oh, that's probably Mel and Ashley," Hermione said walking over to the door. She opened the door and let the two girls in. "Mel this is Ginny. Ginny this is Mel. And this is Ashley," Hermione said introducing the three girls to each other.
"Nice to meet you. We've heard a lot about you," Mel said with a smile.
"Nice to meet you, too," Ginny said returning the smile.
"Well, we were planning on heading down to the pool before we went to town. Did you bring your suit?" Hermione asked.
Ginny shook her head no.
"Well, that's okay. They have really cute ones down at the shop," Hermione said, talking about the local beachwear store.
The four girls went next door to tell Draco that they were making a quick stop at the store before meeting him down at the pool.
"Ooh Ginny! You
have to try on this one!" Ashley said, handing Ginny an emerald green bikini. The girls had been in the store for half-an-hour and Ginny was still trying on suits. The girls were having fun picking out suits and bikinis for Ginny.
"And this one!" Mel added, handing Ginny a pale blue suit.
Ginny let out a small laugh. She had tried on about 15 different suits and she had four new ones to try on in her hands. In the end, Ginny decided on a plain beige bikini.
Ginny paid for the suit and the girls headed back to the hotel. They retuned to Hermione's hotel room and girls changed into their bathing suits. When they went down to the pool, they found Draco doing laps at the pool. They jumped into the pool together. Ginny was surprised to find that the pool was heated and the water was warm.
There was, understandably, a bit of tension between Draco and Ginny. Hermione tried to ease some of the tension but it seemed that there wasn't anything that she could do. Draco and Ginny both seemed to relax after a bit but there was still tension.
"Well...it's a start," Hermione thought to herself.
By the time the girls decided to head into town, Draco and Ginny were actually starting to be
friendly towards each other.
"Okay, so we'll meet you back here at seven," Mel said to Draco looking at her watch and seeing that it was already four.
"Okay," Draco agreed. "I guess I'll just relax or something until then," he added with a bit of teasing in his voice.
"We've gotta catch the bus!" Ashley said, as if suddenly coming to her senses.
"Okay, see you!" Hermione added grabbing Ginny's wrist, running after Mel and Ashley.
Two hours later, the girls came back from town with
bags of their shopping.
"We need to get ready,
quickly," Ashley said. "We only have an hour!"
Hermione and Ginny let out a small laugh. They rarely spent even an hour getting ready just to go out. They decided to go up to Mel and Ashley's suite, just because of the space.
Hermione put on her new pink skirt with a pink tank top. Her new skirt ended mid-calf and was made with a flowing material. She place a pink plumeria in her hair. She studied herself in the mirror and was pleased with what she saw. She had put on some new pink tinted make-up, it went well with her outfit. She looked for her new shoes while across the room, Ginny was getting ready herself.
Ginny had gotten a simple black dress. It was in a sundress style and ended just above her knee. Ginny had gotten some new make-up and was busy putting it on. She finished with her mascara. Ginny put on her favourite black velvet choker. Ginny studied her reflection. She rarely had the chance to dress up at home so she was enjoying every moment of this day. Ginny looked across the room at Mel.
Mel was wearing her new black jeans with a tank top that had a very low v-neck. Mel felt uncomfortable with wearing such a low v-neck so she wore a white camisole under the deep red tank top. Mel turned to her compact and put on some wine red lipstick. The effect was drastic yet appealing. Mel smiled at her reflection and reached for her black cardigan. Mel reached down and slipped on black sandals. "Hey Ash?" Mel yelled into the washroom, "You almost done?"
"Just give me a sec!" Ashley yelled back from the washroom. Ashley looked at outfit. She was wearing a pale blue tank top with a black skirt. Her skirt was tight and ended a few inches above her knees. Ashley leaned into the mirror and fixed her pale pink, glossy lipstick. She grabbed her clutch which was in the shape of a watermelon and walked out the door. She waited for the girls' reactions. When the girls saw Ashley, they were stunned. "Well?" Ashley asked.
Hermione spoke first. "Wow Ash...you look...
amazing!" she said.
"Thanks," Ashley replied, blushing. "Is it a bit much?"
"No, not at all!" Mel said.
"Great," Ashley said with a slight nod. "Well, lets go. Draco will be waiting for us."
Each girl grabbed her purse and headed out the door. The elevator seemed to take longer than any of them remembered. The elevator doors finally opened to the lobby. The girls stepped off the elevator and looked around but couldn't see Draco. They heard a *ding!* behind them and saw Draco rush off the elevator. Draco looked handsome in khakis and a pale green polo shirt. He smelt faintly of Ralph Lauren Blue after shave.
"Sorry...were you waiting long?" Draco asked. His eyes finally took in the girls. "Wow...you guys look amazing."
"It's okay. We haven't been waiting long and thank you," Mel said.
"Well...lets get going," Draco said. They walked towards the door and found a cab waiting for them. "I called for one while I was waiting," Draco explained.
The four girls got into the back and Draco hopped into the front and gave the driver directions to the club. Draco turned around so that he could look at the girls while he talked to them.
"So, Mel...how did you hear about this place?" Draco asked.
"Oh, just a brochure," Mel said dismissively.
"Don't tell Ron that I snuck you into a club," Draco said to Ginny with a smile.
"Oh, don't worry about that. Ron's
last person I'd tell I was going to a club," Ginny said. She turned to Hermione. "Actually Hermione, I'm surprised that you're so excited about this. That's so unlike you."
Hermione shrugged. "I just thought it was about time I started having some fun."
"That's too true," Draco agreed.
"Hey guys, we're here!" Mel said.
The girls hopped out of the taxi. When they turned around to pay the driver, the found that Draco had already paid the whole bill.
"Are you sure?" Ashley asked.
"Don't worry about it. Lets go have some fun," Draco said leading the way towards the doors.
"I feel bad..." Mel whispered to Hermione.
"Don't worry about is. His parents are
loaded. Besides, it'd just insult him if you kept pushing it."
"Okay...if you say so," Mel said hesitantly.
Before long, Draco had worked his charm and the five of them were in the club.....
