Hermione sat on the black chair with the Gryffindor emblem. A very angry Draco sat across from her on the identical Slytherin chair. His soft blonde hair fell over his blue eyes. It had been quiet for about five minutes. The silence was unbearable. All that could be heard was Crookshanks, who happened to be on Hermione’s lap.

“Well? Are you going to sit here all day Granger, or are you going to tell me why you requested me in your mudblood presence?” Draco’s words echoed through the silence. “ I do have better things to do you know.” he spat, getting extremely impatient.

“I’m...a...blood...” Hermione mumbled quietly.

“What Granger? I didn’t understand your mudblood talk.” Draco sneered.

“Imnotamudblood.” Hermione mumbled a bit louder, running her words together. She had never been so unconfident in her life.

“Speak the hell up Granger! I can’t understand your damn mumbling!” Draco said angrily.

“I’M NOT A FUCKING MUDBLOOD!” Hermione screamed.

“What? You‘re joking, right?” Draco said softly. His mouth was hanging open and his eyes were wide. “Explain.” He demanded. Hermione rolled her eyes and scoffed at him.

“Fine.” She spat. “It started this summer. My “parents” told me they needed to talk to me. They said that I was adopted. I own a mansion and I have a large sum of money locked up in Gringott's. My parents were Jordan and Rachael Turner, purebloods. So, that makes me a purebl...”

“Wait! Jordan and Rachael Turner?! As in THE Jordan and Rachael Turner?!” Draco asked incredulously.

“I guess so. Draco, what the hell do you mean by ‘the’?” Hermione asked. She was very confused.

“It’s just... they were the most powerful, wealthy pureblood family in the Wizarding World. There is no way that you, Hermione “mudblood” Granger, could be their daughter.” Draco smirked evilly.

“Well, why the hell not Malfoy? And it‘s TURNER.” Hermione retorted.

“Well...because....Jordan and Rachael Turner were killed almost 16 years ago Hermione. They died on July 17, 1990” Draco explained.

“Draco, I was born on September 17, 1989. That's a little less than a year before they...died. So, how did it happen?” she asked him with a tear running down her cheek.

“Voldemort killed them. When he found out that they were betraying them, he Avada Kedarva’d them quicker than you can say quidditch.” Draco said bluntly. “Nobody knew that they had a daughter. They probably put you into hiding so that you wouldn‘t be harmed.” Draco said to her. For some reason or another, Draco believed Hermione.

“So, I guess I have to stop calling you Granger and Mudblood then, right Tur...Hermione?” Draco said cautiously. Hermione just stared at him.

“Yes. Wait, did you just call me Hermione?” she asked.

“Well, yeah. It’s your name isn’t it?” Draco smirked.

“Yea, but you could have called me Turner. But never mind. I need some time to think, so I’m gonna go now Malf...Draco.” Hermione said managing a weak smile before she left the common room.

Author’s Notes: Hey everyone. I’m back. Sorry I left you all without an update for so long! I was away on Spring Break. Then, I came back, having completed chapters 7-10, and I typed them all up. I submitted this chapter, but it was too short. Now, it barely makes the requirements. Sorry for the super short chapter though. I just kind of needed something to break the ice between Draco and Hermione. I hope you all enjoyed the chapter so please R/R, and I hope you look forward to chapters 8, 9 and 10, which are coming soon! Also, I wanna thank my most awesome reader, Sly. She rocks so hard! She's reviewed like, every chapter! So, thanks Sly!
