Review #1, by Rumpelstiltskin Today

You're killing me with sad with these!

I like this piece following up "Live With Myself" particularly because we're transitioning from Severus trying to find the will to live into his moment of death many years later.

Again, you've tied the line "Can I cry now?" into this, and it has an absolutely beautiful effect. Severus has forced himself to be strong throughout losing Lily from his life, losing her to death, and then having to carry on to protect her son (who he's carried resentment for, nonetheless), and finally doesn't have to be strong.

And in death, he finally finds peace.

It's so sad.

It's overall strong enough to stand on its own, and creates a powerful story when read in combination with the other two pieces.

Overall, I think you've done a lovely job with this challenge. Once I've finished reading and filling out the rubrics for all of the participants and entries, I will be announcing winners on the Forums (and possibly Twitter and/or Tumblr).

Thanks so much for your submissions and I apologize for such a long gap between the Challenge end date and the reviews!

Yay! I've finished your trilogy now! I'm here for BvB by the way :)

So like the past two stories, I think you've done a really good job portraying Severus and his feelings. I really loved how Severus would put a lily on Lily's grave every year on her birthday. It really shows the loving and sentimental side of him that no one ever fully saw (you could count Dumbledore and Harry, though).

I also really liked how you wrote Severus' thoughts. He's about to die and clearly all he can think about is Lily and if he's done enough good for the world, and I think it's really sweet. I was just a tiny bit confused by the last line. It's a very good ending but I'm not sure who spoke it. Was it his imagination, or Harry? Was it Lily in the afterlife? If so, I'd love to see another one shot about Severus' joy at seeing her again :D

Apart from that, great story! I really enjoyed this trilogy :)

Author's Response: You reached the end! Have a cookie! Don't mind the glitter...

This story was really wrenching to write so I'm glad the feeling came across okay. As for the ending, it's supposed to be one of those let the reader decide kind of things. Personally, (though I don't mean to sway the audience since I'm the author) I like to think that it was Lily welcoming him into death and a peaceful rest.

Sorry, no more sequels here! But I'm so glad you enjoyed it!

That was emotional. I admit, I wanted to cry. That was really bittersweet. I loved how it ended and how it was Snape's death from his point of view. It was really well written and emotional and I loved it.

Author's Response: Darn it, there are supposed to be tears! I mean, *ahem*!

I'm glad you liked the series. It's actually super hard to write a death scene and even harder when it's from the POV of the person dying. I almost made myself cry writing it! Thank you so much for reading and reviewing!

HPFT Team Vampire Review

Excuse me while I pick the shattered remains of my heart up off the floor.

It's very poignant to have Severus admit to himself that so many people had saved his life, and I love how he focused the last of his thoughts on the good things, especially Lily. He did it all for her, and it really strikes a chord that he blamed himself. He suffered for a long time and I love how you've ended it with him reunited with Lily once more.

Author's Response: You do that, I'll wait.

Hello there, B! Nice of you to stop by! This was part three for the Companion Piece challenge and I almost didn't make the deadline because it was actually pretty difficult to write. (I also decided to do the challenge when there was only three days left, sooo...) I'm glad you liked it. Snape is one of the most complex characters, I think, and it boggles my mind that Jo had his entire story planned from the beginning.

Also, since I know you read this because it was under dark/horror for the team review, I recommend reading Crucio. I did last night and holy crap...

Thank you for reading!
