Review #1, by Hufflepuff1990 ~A Stupid Question/Dancing With Myself~

15th June 2016:
I don't know why I was shocked at how good this was, after reading your other story I should have totally seen it coming xD

I absolutely love the scorbus pairing and there has been a definite lack of it on other sites, so the fact that you are the first author who's work I'm reading on this site, ks lime hitting a small goldmine!

Having go e through depression and having friends who cross dress and one who's trans, I have no problem totally losing myself in this

Author's Response: Thanks a lot. At first I was a bit shifty about working with the idea of gender-queer Scorpius, but I warmed up to it and started writing. I'm really very glad that I'm the first author you're reading on this site. Make sure to check out the recently added section, there are so many other amazing authors.

I am definitely a Scorbus nut (what can I say? I love my two nerds) and I write it a lot. Even when I do Scorose, I always find myself having them exes or Albus crushing on him. I think I have a problem *laughs*.

Thanks again for all of your reviews, and I hope to see you posting some stories.

Review #5, by Dirigible_Plums  ~Cross The Lines/The Beginning of the Journey~

27th March 2016:

So I didn't really know what I expected when I began reading this, but I can say I am pleasantly surprised. I think I've only ever read one story on the archives featuring a genderfluid character so I'd first like to applaud you for writing a diverse character. I've seen many portrayals of Scorpius and most of them are interpretations of a suave, smirking Slytherin and almost always hetero. Of course, since I usually hunt down Scorose fics, it's to be expected. Your Scorpius, however, is such a sweetheart and I really like that. He just seems so gentle yet he didn't shy away from his confession to Draco.

Speaking of which: Draco! I was really surprised by his reaction (in a good way, don't worry!) since the Malfoys always were conservative and aware of their reputation. If it had been Scorpius' grandfather, the reaction would've been very different as Draco said. The fact that they're pureblood and Scorpius is the heir to the Malfoy line probably would've motivated it, but Draco is very accepting. I like how you've developed his character; you can really see how much he loves his son.

I would just like to point out a minor mistake: you added an apostrophe in 'were' in the line 'His plaid boxers we're loose on his hips as he flitted about the room'. Just thought I'd let you know :)

Plums xo

Oh and before I forget: I'm here for the annual Fundraiser Review Competition. If you haven't yet donated, please consider doing so since I'm sure that we all want HPFF to be around for many, many years to come :D

Author's Response: Thank you Plums for reading and your review!

I'd like to say that I'm glad you took a chance on my story and read it. I was a little nervous about working with gender queer Scorpius (I didn't really like the idea at first) but I got around to it and actually quite like how the first chapter turned out.

Yes, I really like when my characters are diverse. If you read some of my other works (when I get up to posting them), you'll notice that all my canon characters are very different from how they were in the other fan fictions. Sometimes Rose and Scorpius are together, sometimes it's Al and Scorpius instead. Sometimes Albus hates quidditch, other times he's captain. I change the houses and combos of houses frequently as well too.

I'm glad you liked Draco's reaction, a lot of other reviewers have commented on that as well! I really think Draco is an underrated character, so in my fics I like to show the soft side that many people don't see.

Thank you for pointing out my mistake, I love constructive criticism! Yes, I will change that ASAP. (I'm a busy person, aren't we all?). Since this was my first chapter on HPFF I hadn't quite yet gotten used to the formatting, but now I'm comfortable and I'm sure the stories will be a bit more readable!

I will definitely think about donating, because I love this site so much and it'd be a bummer if this was my first and last year.

Thanks again for your review!

Yours sincerely, ImaRavenclaw.

Review #6, by victoria_anne  ~Cross The Lines/The Beginning of the Journey~

27th March 2016:
Hello there and welcome to HPFF you fluffy new member! Plenty of hugs and cookies for you!

Okay, let's get the constructive criticism out the way first so I can end on a fabulously happy note and you'll see I'm not scary. Start a new line of dialogue as a new paragraph - the spacing makes it easier to read as well as clears any confusion as to who is speaking, because at the moment you have Scorpius and Draco speaking on the same line of writing, and you haven't closed the quotation marks, either, where Scorpius explains the clothes are for him. Though that may just be a typo :)
Also, for Scorpius' thoughts (which are great, by the way, especially when he thought Draco was a mind reader) try putting them into italics, to differentiate between dialogue :)

Okay - the good parts, yay!

I love how understanding Draco is! Of course, it must have been a shock at first but I love how he takes it all in his stride for his only child. What a great parent! I'm glad he chose to accept Scorpius for who he is, as you've written that Astoria is dead and I'm sure Draco would hate to be all alone :( he only has Scorp now! I like how you mentioned Draco didn't want his son to grow up as he had - that squeezed my heart! That's probably what makes him such a good father - he knows what it's like to not be accepted.

Oooh is that a little crush on Albus Potter I smell? (Get in line, Scorpius!). I love how Draco admits Harry would have made a great friend!

What a sweet closing line! And I'm certainly hoping for that too! I'll guess I'll have to read on and find out if Albus will love him back!

This is truly a wonderful first time story (and I can't wait to see what you do with it). I hope you enjoy your time here on HPFF as much as I do! We actually have a fundraiser happening at the moment, where even the smallest donation helps - I hope you consider donating to help keep the magic alive!

Love Bianca

Author's Response: Hi Bianca,

Thank you so much for your response! I love reviews.

Thank you for your constructive criticism, it's always helpful. Of course since this was my first chapter ever on HPFF I was still getting used to the formatting. And now I know how to put italics in, so I will get around to changing that as soon as possible ( I'm a very busy person :) )

I'm glad you liked Draco's acceptingness. I've always seen Draco as an underrated character by those who have only seen the movies, because without reading the books you wouldn't know that he's artsy, and all about his little quirks. So of course I felt it was important to portray him as a softer person who's grown out of old grudges.

Thank you again for your review, and I hope you keep reading. And thank you for welcoming me as a new member! It's always nice to have online Potter Head friends.

Yours sincerely, ImaRavenclaw
