Hey! I'm very late but finally here with the Slytherin Hot Seat Review.

I loved this. It was so sweet and nice and sad. Your portrayal of Sirius is interesting. I felt sad for him, and at his unrequited love for Lily. I wish we'd seen Lily's reactions/thoughts on when Sirius kissed her and told her he loved her though! I mean, she married James in the end, and was happy with him, so I'd liked to have known what she thought of Sirius' feelings towards her.

Of course, that's just me being greedy for more of this story because I really enjoyed reading it! Your descriptions were very good and I loved the way the dreams changed into one another smoothly. Sirius' emotions were palpable and my heart ached for him. It was interesting how you took a missing moment of sorts from canon and turned it into this well-written one-shot.

Great concept, good characterisation, and lovely narrative! I really liked it.

Cheers,
AditiDraco95

Thank you for all of your kind words and maybe I will have to check out a way to write about Lily's feelings towards Sirius in the future!

Wow. So I'm here for the Hotseat and I'm glad I got the chance to read this. I loved, simply loved how you portrayed Sirius' time in Azkaban. It was very well written. Perfect really you captured the reality and brought to life what we've only heard of in passing in the books.

You also played off Sirius emotions toward Lily in such a short span and quite well for a dart situation too. Really very well done and I commend you. While this may not be cute and fluffy I liked the read and you have me almost feeling like everyone was in love with Lily, I'm not saying that is a bad thing mind you but you convinced me of the emotion and I must commend you on that.

Over all, fantastic work - I am glad I dropped by to read this.

Author's Response: Thank you so much for reading and reviewing this One-shot. I am so happy that you enjoyed it and all the lovely compliments towards it.

I am glad that his emotions were able to shine through in such a short time frame. I think we have all wondered who he could have loved and I think that Lily would make a good argument to some extent.

Again, thank you so much for reading and reviewing this!:)

Hello!

This is Gabbie from the forums with your review, I'm sorry that this is late! Thank you for the wonderful review for "Again". It really brightened my day!

I always love flashbacks in stories too and I think it's a great way to show just how damaging being in Azkaban can be for a person, especially after a few years. I think that Sirius was such an active person before he was put there and to think that he's been trapped without any hope just makes the memories you included all the more bittersweet. What I really loved was the very beginning, which is just a perfect tie-in to canon, you can obviously see where the story will continue in the HP book. Sirius may not have known what he would see in the newspaper but it inspired him to get justice, which makes the first flashback about Lily just the more poignant. It was clear then that he loved her and over time, that love grew into something more. What I would like to know is what happened in between that and why nothing ever happened between them! Maybe that's in an actual novel? Hm...

The most heartbreaking part of this of course was the flashback with Sirius being completely alone. There were great nods to canon there too but to think of him sitting there, knowing that his two friends were gone was just some powerful writing. :D

Anyway, I especially loved the fire that Sirius had towards the very end. He was going to get his revenge and he was going to make sure that Peter suffered for it. That was something that's going to stay with me. :D

Thanks for the read!

Much love,

Gabbie

Author's Response: Hi Gabbie!!

Thank you so much for this lovely review! I am sorry it has taken me this long to respond back to you!

Whenever I write anything that isn't Next Gen. I always try exceedingly hard to make sure it ties into canon as much as possible. I am so happy that it came across that way! I think there friendship reminds me a lot of Harry and Hermione when they dance with one another in DH1 it was that moment of what if or what could have been... It is possibly a great novel idea! (No pun intended).

I greatly appreciate your compliments on the part where Sirius is alone. I tried really hard to convey his sadness in what I wrote so I am glad that it really came out along with him being alone.

Sirius was built for fire and I am sure that had Harry not intervened in POA he would have taken Peter out that night.

Thanks so much again!!

Review #4, by Frankie05 Almost

26th August 2015:
Hey Jenn. I saw a new story and I got a bit excited to read it. It is a very sad story- a very well written story- but sad nonetheless. Sirius and Lily? How does Lily get all of these dark headed sexy men. It's not fair.

The beginning of the story is interesting. That he gets the newspaper and then he sees Pettigrew. And actually recognizes him! It's an interesting take on the story and I thought it was done really well. And then the dementors come by and he is entranced in his memories. And they aren't even negative memories they are just filled with Lily. She was so kind to him as an 11 year old and that's probably where his infatuation. With her started.

And then they kissed! Ohh I have no doubt that he took that secret with him to his grave. He knew of James feelings for her but he also harbored feeling for Lily. This makes my heart sad. And then it broke again at the wedding of Lily and James. He stood as best man and probably wasn't joking when he asked if he was sure he wanted to do it. Heart. Broken. And then having to give up Harry. Just no Jenn you've done my heart wrong!!

But his resolution at the end to avenge his two best friends is what gets him out. He figures out the Animagus trick and now he's on his way.

This was so good. So well thought out. So heart breakingky beautiful. Keep up the good work :)

Author's Response: Hi Frankie!!

Thank you so much for reading and reviewing this one-shot! I was so thrilled when I saw your review!! :)

I was totally nervous to write Sirius/Lily only because it is Sirius/Lily. I hope that makes sense and no it isn't fair!

This was really hard to write. I have never really taken this much time to research for a story to get the facts right as I did with this one so I am excited that it paid off. This story also didn't start out this way originally and I hadn't planned on it being sad at all. It was supposed to be romance and fluff. Not dark, fluff. Crazy muse!

I honestly think you're right! He had to have had some feelings towards her. I mean the possibilities are endless here. I also wanted to show that Sirius keeping this secret actually became a heavy burden as time went on.

Thank you again for such a lovely review and I greatly appreciate it!! :)
