Review #1, by Mrs. Claus Fairies

16th July 2015:
Hello, a friend of mine over at the forums directed me here. As you might know or might not, Santa has tasked me with the very special duty of gift giving for Christmas in July. You, being the lovely writer you are, certainly deserve one!

Oh, fairies! Hagrid's right, by the way, there are fairies up here. However, there's much...icier than these ones. Still vain, attracted to pretty things, more than a bit petty, but also more cold in personality than the ones in other parts of the world. Though I did meet one once who was actually very nice. Saved it from one of my husband's reindeer, who is a prime target of some of their nastier pranks. I'm sure you've heard of Donner? That one has a little bit of a temper on him.

Dominique really is a girl after my own heart. So curious and full of spirit! You know, I wasn't always immortal, and I was just like her as a child. Always running off when I wasn't supposed to, following my brother John into the forest despite my mother's protests...now that I think about it, I even looked at bit like her.

Hagrid really is a sweetheart. Another who was one my favorite children watch. A heart as big as he is. How wonderful for Dominique to find a friend in him.

This was a lovely moment, and I enjoyed every second. However, I must be off to spread more cheer!

(Now, here's a clue for you: There's something we really do have in common, though it's not her looks...)

Author's Response: Its been like three months and I feel bad for only getting to this now. This may have come as a Christmas gift in July but I'm replying to it closer to Christmas so I guess things work out.

I can imagine fairies in the North Pole would be much icier than the ones residing in the Forbidden Forest, it would be useful for them considering the climate that they live in. You know, I never really pictured Donner as the one who would have a bit of a tempter out of all of the reindeer to be honest with you.

Hagrid really is a sweetheart! Anyone that considers him a friend is lucky to have him!

Thanks for stopping by Mrs. Claus!

Review #2, by Veritaserum27 Fairies

30th June 2015:
Hiya Grace!

I saw this was posted in the common room and wanted to stop by and read it - and I'm SO GLAD I did!! This was so incredibly sweet and it was just what I needed to read today. I've never read a story with this pairing and you've done a fabulous job with the two of them. I felt that you stayed true to character for Hagrid and while we don't know much about Dom and what her personality is exactly, but this is new head canon for me.

I think my absolute favorite part of this story is that Dom is a Ravenclaw. I know I'm a bit biased toward this particular house, but I really, really liked how you showed us that people can be really clever and witty and brilliant in all sorts of different ways. I'd always felt that Hagrid was portrayed as completely lovable and although rather knowledgeable about animals, a bit slower otherwise. I don't think this bothered Harry at all, but I thoroughly enjoyed seeing a Ravenclaw who was clever and really into magical animals.

Your description of the fairy village was really awesome. I could really see all the lights and it made me feel like I was there - it was too bright for me too! And the part with her hair was perfect. I can totally see why the fairies are the first animal she doesn't want to take home - haha!

I want to read more about Dom! Are you planning on writing more of her? Great job with this enjoyable little one-shot!

♥ Beth

Author's Response: Oh my gosh I didn't think that anyone was going to drop by!

I'm so glad that you enjoyed the story! I feel like Hagrid would've grown close to any Potter or Weasley child that loved animals as much as he loved them. I imagine Hagrid would've been very excited to have a friend to share his passion for magical creatures with.

Whenever I write characters now my mind immediately jumps to putting them in Ravenclaw and then I have to slow down and ask myself if that's really where they would be given their character and have to change it. I agree, Hagrid was always portrayed as a little slow on everything except animals but I'm pretty sure that if he had as much of an interest in any other subject he'd be just as good at it. Anyone can be a Ravenclaw when they're allowed to do the thing that they're really passionate about.

I'm glad to hear that my description was good, I was a little nervous about it, I went back and read through it at least four times trying to find new things that I could add to it until I was satisfied. It makes me so happy to hear that you could see what everything looked like.

I've got a bunch of stories involving Dom to be honest with you, it's just a matter of writing all of the stories involving her that is the problem especially considering everything else that I have to write.

Thank you so much for your review Beth!
