Review #1, by Elenia Together

11th July 2014:
Hello there, fellow Gryffindor!

Ooh, a Snape Lily afterlife story! Count me intrigued!

I really liked the meeting and how Lily yelled at him for being so horrible to Harry! That's exactly how I imagined that meeting going! Because even though Harry forgave everything, I can't imagine Lily just letting it go like that. So great work on that!

That ending confused me a little, like there's a scene missing from between the argument and Lily coming to Severus for comfort. It just happened all too suddenly. So maybe work on that part a little. The thought about it was lovely, and I really do think they were able to settle everything eventually.

I LOVE that you had her address how horrible he was to Harry. So many people forget that, and reduce Snape purely to that "always" moment - but there's a lot more to him than that. You wrote his realisation of how arrogant and jealous he'd been so well - when Lily asks him why he didn't take care of her son, like so many other people did, and he responds "he was Potter's" - this was so good.
I thought her going to him for comfort so soon after that argument was a bit strange, I feel like if you put a bit more transitional stuff in that section (I know the word count for this was limited though) it would flow a lot better.
I really did like that you had Lily challenge him though, that was so well done, I really enjoyed it :)

Review #3, by UnluckyStar57 Together

10th July 2014:
Oh dear. This was really lovely and sad.

I appreciate the fact that Lily gave Severus a big scolding in the afterlife for the way he treated Harry. He was always really terrible to Lily's son, and that's not okay at all. But he had to stand up for himself, and it is true that he had a lot of trouble as a double agent. I hope that Lily can forgive him for his wrongs, since he wants to reform.

Interesting... Severus and Lily exploring the afterlife together. Am I to take that as Snily, or is this just a friend thing? Either way, the image of Severus comforting Lily at the end was absolutely beautiful.

Lovely story!

Author's Response: Hiya! Er, I'm glad? Haha.

Lily was never embarrassed to give someone a telling off in life (if they deserved it) and I think she'd be the same in death. Snape certainly deserved this one!

You can take it any way you like - I left it open. It's your decision, whether you think he deserves her or not...;)

Thank you for the review!

Hey!

I really liked reading about this. Severus and Lily always make me have sad emotions, despite how tough Severus treated Harry, because I also know how much he sacrificed. Your characterisation of both of them was so, so amazing. I thought you did such a stellar job portraying Lily as trying to speak to Snape calmly but not being able to hold back her anger at Snape - because it ultimately shows just how much she loves her son. I also loved your characterisation of Snape, in depicting him as regretful towards the end and trying to show Lily how much he's changed. The dialogue was beautifully written - and it really captured the antagonistic but ultimately, considerate relationship they had really well. Nicely written!

Hello!

Oh, I was loving this that Lily was yelling and shouting at Severus,
scolding him for what he had done to Harry because no one
deserves to be treated like that and he never saw Harry as Lily's son
only as James' and I love that you incorporated that into there
because he was always so overcome with jealousy that he didn't try
to think of Harry as someone he could have had a connection to but
instead treated him the way he treated James.

But then it annoyed me that Lily kind of -- well not forgave him but
went to him instead of James. I think if she was truly angry she'd
never speak to him again because that's just not one does when
someone treats your son like that.

But oh well, this is your story! It's just that I've never been that fond
of the Snape and Lily pairing so it's probably just a personal bias :P

But you wrote this very well! I think you got Snape's personality on
point and Lily's personality up until she ran crying to him. But again,
personal differences.

I also liked how Lily said she'd have a word with Petunia once she
died as well. That was a nice little addition!

Anywho, this was a great story (even with me kind of disagreeing on
the latter half) and I think you wrote it very well! :)

Hiya!

So reading this I got covered in goosebumps and I started tearing up! This was so beautiful and well written and I am so very happy to have found it.

Snape will forever be one of my very favorite characters in the whole world of fiction, and his death the hardest. Geez, I cried so much.

I could very much see that scene taking place after he dies. Gosh, him and Lily have some talking to do, don't they?

This was a lovely, lovely story and I loved reading it. It captured the emotion perfectly.

Brilliant job!

Author's Response: Hiya!

You teared up? I'll take that as a compliment :P Thank you very much for these kind words

Snape is a mixed bag of nuts. Personally I don't like him as a person, but I do agree that his character is one of the most complex in the books.

Yup, Snape has a lot of explanation to do.

Thank you for reading and reviewing!
