Review #1, by M A Date with the Enemy

11th July 2014:
Hey again!

Another really good chapter. I just love Cassie and Al's relationship dynamic in the flashbacks. They are obviously attracted to each other, but they're blinded to it as a result of years of rivalry and supposed 'hatred' and the attraction is just making it more intense.

I love your writing so much and it's such a pleasure to read your work.

Author's Response: Hi! I'm so glad you're enjoying this story. I hope to get back to work on both this and Risen very, very soon. My life has been a little busy lately and it's been hard to sit down and write. Hope you're doing well... enjoying life after exams. :)

Review #2, by M Back In the Day

Hey there! It's been too long since I read one of your chapters. Too much partying to celebrate the end on my exams! :D

I really enjoyed this chapter. Ginny was on top form. I can just imagine that scene and the looks on their faces when she suggested to take each other to the ball. We can also see the underlying passion between the two...they do say there's a fine line between love and hate.

Really loving this story. Can't wait to see what else you have in store

Dun Dun Dun!

Now I get it! Cassie is the only one who can fight with magic within the ministry. I wonder how they have such powerful magic though. We find answers, but more questions arise. So Cassie is basically, their super-assassin who is their only hope. I wonder how they're going to plan the assault though...

Also with a name like Hades Blackworth, you know he's going to be evil. Lol. Also he's Cassie's biological father! Could he have similar abilities I wonder...

Great chapter, we finally see what they're up against. I've gotta say, it does not look pretty.

Love your work and many, many thanks for writing this story :D

Author's Response: Eek! Glad you're liking this.

I've always thought of magic as being something you had to really study to get better at. I have this idea that most people in the wizarding world only really learn what they need to know for school and/or their chosen careers. Voldemort and Dumbledore both were extremely advanced because they pushed the limits and studied. So that's going to be case in this story. There are people who push the boundaries of normal magic- both good and bad.

the idea about the start of the assault is starting to form in my mind. Will be a bit before I get there though. I'm hoping this will be a long story.

Review #4, by M Memory Lane

26th June 2014:
I liked the flashback, to see Cassie as a happy and carefree teenager, which is then juxtaposed with the Cassie of the present day, bitter, jaded and with all that pressure on her shoulders. It's a great way to highlight how much has changed as a result of the coup and how war changes people.

Cassie's "gift" is an interesting one. I'm not sure what to make of it at the moment. With the current info I don't see how that makes Cassie the resistance's top weapon. Is being able to kill by thought just one of her "gift's" manifestations?

Now that the walls surrounding Cassie's emotions are being broken down, all of her pain is now coming out. I'm really interested to see what you've got coming up with regards to that area of Cassie.

Great chapter and I'm starting to get into this story now.

P.S. I do love a cup of Masala Chai as well :)

Author's Response: The reason for Cassie being important will be explained in the next chapter. :) Hope it makes more sense after that.

Review #5, by M Reunion

26th June 2014:
Hey a good chapter. More things have been revealed to us...

Firstly, Niemann. He sounds like he's a leading figure (or might be the leader himself). The Noir Mort are still a faceless entity to us however.

It's great to know that's there more of the good guys: James, Scorpius and Rose. James and Cassie seems to have a really close friendship.

I'm also intrigued to see how Cassie develops. She's put up all of these walls around her emotions and has set her heart on nothing but revenge. But these walls will be broken down and I'm intrigued to see Cassie's emotional state as a result.

The story is still in it's infancy, but I have a really good feeling about this. You're really setting up a really good story in these opening chapters.

Author's Response: Yay! Glad you like it. This story is very different from anything I've ever written before, so I'm hoping to do it justice.

You'll learn a little bit more about the Noir Mort in the chapter after the next one.

Cassie is going to be a fun character to write. Very different from Charlotte.

Hope you continue to like what I'm doing with this story. :) Thanks for the thoughts. Keep them coming, even ideas.

Review #6, by M London

23rd June 2014:
Hi there!

I'm an avid fan your other story 'Risen.' After the reading the first two chapters of this story, I'm really excited by the prospect of this story. You've whetted my interest and appetite for the story; there's so many avenues to explore in this story.

I'm intrigued by the 'Noir Mort.' I'm curious to see the circumstances which led the group into existence, how it rose to power and who leads it. From the snippets of information you've given, I'm guessing that the 'Noir Mort' are running a police-state/totalitarian regime similar to 'Norsefire' in 'V for Vendetta.'

I'm also interested to see who has survived the coup and who are in the resistance. I'm hoping there will be some more Weasleys/Potters.

Plus, I want to see how the Cassie/Albus relationship pans out. Also it'd be good to see how they went from enemies to friends and how they fell for each other.

I'm really excited by this story. It seems to have everything. Being an adventure story it will have lots action but also it can have the exploration of the consequences of those actions; you can really push the characters to their limits in this. I think with this story you can show off your depth and skill as a writer.

I truly love your work and it's a joy and a pleasure to be able to follow you on this journey.

Author's Response: Hi!

I'm so glad you're liking this so far. I'm still very much figuring out what this story will be... but it's good to know what you're curious about. I can write those down in my notes to get those answered. It's very different from Risen, and I'm quite excited to see how this pushes me as a writer.

Hope you enjoy the next few chapters, which is, unfortunately, all I have written. I'll be going back and forth between this and Risen, so there should be plenty of new stuff to read. :)

Thanks a million for the review. Really, really means a lot.
